I think I was the champion with the worst result in the pool for the inaugural race at the Bahrain Track.9 points,Last season I only won one round, and I don't know if I'll win one more this season Grin
Once again congratulations! to you FM Free Bet!

seeing Alonso on the podium is probably better feeling than for Max to win this one
not sure how all things are work out in the end, but Red Bull was dominant (brings back that Ferrari won it last season, and was beaten down after that)

congrats to FM, 17 points is an achievement

Hey, not bad. Copying exactly the selections from top to bottom on Superbru, gives me 12 points, way better than my average last season when actually taking the time to research haha.

LeClerc DNF, reminds me to look at DNF odds on some seeded drivers, I see a lot of good vibes on Aston Martin. I promise not to talk too much about AT...

Then what is the situation for changing picks to sacrifice the early points? Smiley There must be one Smiley
Well I guess if you thought that Red Bull will have pole positions and made their drivers to finish on the podium and both have troubles with the car in qualifying and start from last positions you could change your pick to some other driver. Not gonna happen, but that rule with 2 points for early picks seems like great one for F1. Big influence on my decision to join, wanted to see how it works first hand.

For that situation I think rarely sacrificing the early 2 points have brought better results, the only couple of times I changed a few things after seeing that for example Sainz got penalty and I didn't know that he would start 20th and once I knew I changed the picks losing the 2 points and this came out even worse for me as I was put last in the standings of that race.

Speaking of this one though if it ends like this I think most of the people will get a lot of points if it ends with the actual positions like they are now and just less than 20 laps to go.Overall a boring race and only the Aston Martins fighting against Mercedes make it look like a beautiful one.

Thanks for the explanations, I'm still a bit unsure of how it all works, but now after the first round I can see that actually the bonus points are so small you need 4 correct picks just to make up for the 2 early points, but I might test it out once I understand exactly how all the penalties or whatever works.

Is there a way for drivers not to qualify for main race? Is this maybe important to note for example if 2 drivers I picked are not even qualified I guess I can change to secure 2 points?

I played the last year so i know so much points can be a winning round, and when i see i have 14.5 i say to myself, "Well maybe i win the round", but when i click in the leaderboard i see that tremendous 17 points made by fM.
Yeah, I'm having a similar impression because despite Leclerc did a DNF, I still had some good picks but seeing someone making 17 points is really surprising.  Cheesy
Last year in your Formula 1 pool, it was enough to have 11 Points for winning yellow cap for the first race (see here) and today, 11 points is just resulting in being somewhere in the lower midfield.  Cheesy
Sure: last year, Verstappen and Perez did an unexpected DNF as well as Leclerc did today but so much points difference in our pool is still surprising.

Maximum last year was 16.5 and it was a shared maximum prize between me and the organizer of this pool but this year started in a much different way and 17 points is really surprising already since the first race but of course this was largely in part because of Leclerc being DNF as most likely we would have seen a couple of us with 16.5 points if Leclerc ended third as most people had that top 3 predicted including Leclerc in third place so the top guy was really lucky in this way and congrats to him for earning the first yellow cap and of course the first free bet.

So be it!  Cool

I think that this "uncertainty" between Mercedes and Ferrari has neglected to who came to occupy that 4th place and has said "here I am" Aston Martin, with a podium and a sixth place for Stroll.

Leclerc's having an engine failure while we were getting close to the end of the race changed the whole picture.
Yes, it's very sad to see him and Ferrari have reliability issues once again. If he doesn't suffer from an engine issue, he can secure podium for sure.
Quite disappointing to see Sainz dropping off as well and Hamilton almost got him.
Ferrari will have a hard time against Mercedes and Aston Martin instead of fighting Red Bull.

In addition, I don't know why Perez didn't stop for a new set of tires a few laps before finishing for fastest lap attempt. His gap to Alonso has been 24 - 25 seconds...

Great predictions from famososMuertos / FmbetBru so far:

17 points seem to be much, I didn't participate last round but from what was posted here, the average for winning a weekend has been around 11 / 12 points last round, hasn't it?

Quite a good start for me. First race is always the hardest to call so I'm really happy with how I did.

Alonso on the podium, huh? Who would have said this before the race?

Not a bad start for me as a first participation but I didn't expect Leclerc to suffer such a stepback since 1st race and having a DNF while Pierro was watching from Ferrari's box. Nevertheless , I must say Alonso is looking like he won't retire until he has a REAL chance to fight for another championship and today he show that Aston Martin can produce maybe for next year a car for this.

Big picks for our Yellow cap and a well deserved place. Now , I guess we all gonna haunt you hehehe Grin Grin

Congratulations this round yellow cap winner for amazing result!
I didn't watch the Bahrein F1 race so I was just checking results and how I did in Superbru, not as good as I expected Sad
I knew Red Bull has the fastest formula cars but I was hoping for big surprise and Hamilton to win the race because he knows his track very well from previous years.

Exactly I had 6 points to made from finding the correct three places and the complete podium and I immediately lost 4 out of them with him being out.Strange enough I also did not expect McLaren to screw up that big as they did as they are the first team to have started car development for this year since May 2022 so I expected a lot more from them.

Alonso looked very happy tonight with his team radio messages like "This car is so lovely to drive" meaning him to be in a complete different planet compared to when he used to yell at McLaren messages like "GP2 engine" and "Undriveable car".

The F1 pool is more complicated than a football pool. Therefore you can ask about everything, feel free. Everyone has a different strategy. But I think the biggest factor in my finishing the pool as the 1st last year was that I collected EBP points (2 points) by making my predictions before the qualifying session. Practice round doesn't matter. Only qualifying and race results are taken into account. However you need to make your predictions before qualifying in order to win EBP.

Thanks buddy Smiley Yeah I try to read on my own but there doesn't seem to be much help. I am still figuring out Practice/Qualifying/Race and the differences, and in some races the Pole is decided differently? Like it says in once place it's the fastest time, another says it's aggregate (whatever that means). That's not clear to me at all, but I guess the safest is just to pick all the names first as soon as possible and then try not to change it before qualifying.

The early 2 points you get only if you put your picks before official qualifying which is today at 16 PM European time and you lose them if you change your picks after qualifying has started. There is no good in changing the picks even if you don't find the pole sitter correctly from what I have witnessed from last season.

I'm kinda confused here..  Do you get points in both quali and the race or just the race?  I made my picks for quali but I seemed to have missed something as I still have no points.  And does this thing lock automatically?  I can't lock my picks and I can't find the lock button thingy.  There are those ones beside the drivers' names but when I click it, it says my pick was saved and I can change it later.

What is this?

Because the pole position is determined in qualifying session we are getting points from there. Apart from that we don't get any point from qualifying. It is normal for us to have zero points now. Because all points of the race week are calculated collectively after the race.
