I think though it would be quite difficult for Norris to hit a win tomorrow night on the race because the Redbull under Max Verstappen driving style seems the best car out in this track, the sprint showed it too so I think Max despite this huge amount of bad luck
I must say I’m surprised by Mclaren’s performance. They are the team that has been consistently good in almost all tracks but now with Piastri not being able to get higher, it seems like something changed with the Mclaren car. I mean they did bring an enormous amount of upgrades this weekend. Not sure if it’s helping them.

Red bull or at least Max seems to have found their pace from the start of the season. Perez is going to cost them the constructors’ just how he did during 2021. He is just miles away from Max and it’s very damaging to the team.

Anyway, my prediction tomorrow is that Norris will not be able to hold on to his P1 for much longer. Probably by the end of lap 1, Max is the one leading already.

Seems incredible how Lando Norris keeps giving advantage and words to spoke against him to his detractors or haters, because this people point uout that Norris is not so top because he made silly mistakes in crucial moments and....... today he make another one.

Luck is totally on his side though. I had Verstappen in pole and in the last minute of Q3 where he clearly were making a pole lap that idiot of Russell which has done this a lot of times now shunt himself into the wall which gave Lando the pole position for this race.I think though it would be quite difficult for Norris to hit a win tomorrow night on the race because the Redbull under Max Verstappen driving style seems the best car out in this track, the sprint showed it too so I think Max despite this huge amount of bad luck from that Russell guy which is doing from bad to worse or maybe is Mercedes doing so, Max I am sure is happy starting from the front row, he just needs to be calm and I am sure he can win this race and makes it difficult to McLaren driver Norris to win. Tomorrow Norris should give it all otherwise he can say goodbye to the Championship.

Norris screwed it up in the end against Ferrari when he locked up and is now finished third in the sprint race, he lost 2 or 3 points against Verstappen, also I got enough info for what to place as the pole winner, race winner and so on, Ferrari seemed a massive upgrade in performance and let's see how do in tomorrow race. I am extremely disappointed for McLaren, not showing what they are capable or maybe their driver ability is less than that of Verstappen, it will be a very difficult race to predict, one thing I know for sure is that Aston Martin sucked really really big in here and I don't see them doing any further improvement to enter points unless a lot of Safety Car incidents will happen.
Bad outcome of sprint for Norris and Max managed to increase his lead a bit. Norris was close to fall off the podium and for me that straight braking in front of Leclerc looked interesting, Charles almost crashed into him.
Ferrari looked great, but IMO they wasted too much time and tyres fighting between each other.
And both Haas finishing in points is impressive stuff.

Since Haas is based on a Ferrari engine it really means that the Ferraris are doing well here, however the thing is I doubt in the race they will be able to do so like they did in the sprint for a longer time, overall the strategies in the race depending also on how people will qualify is that most likely they won't be able to climb in a podium, I see McLaren doing better in a longer distance and the focus will be much higher from Norris and Piastri during the long race rather than in this sprint or at least I hope they do otherwise we call it a day regarding the title of the drivers being won by Max Verstappen and why not we also re-open the title for the constructors seeing how well the Redbull upgrades have been put in place during this long break of 3 weeks.

So far in the sessions, there have been quite different results. At first, Ferrari looked strong in practice. But later on they couldn't show the same effort in sprint qualifying.

Currently there is a sprint race going on. Ferrari can't be competitive for the lead again. Verstappen has a decent gap against Norris in the lead. If he finishes ahead of Norris here, will Norris' chance for the title be still on?  Huh

RedBull's updates seem to be working reasonably well, Verstappen get pole position for the sprint race, McLaren didn't perform so well after the break, could be a step forward for RedBull for the world championship, even if the constructors title is lost I think.

Yeah I was surprised by seeing the qualifying results yet I think that it is mostly thanks to Max bravery than the Redbull upgrades, in such track the driving skill absolutely distinguishes between drivers and cars, in here having the best car is not enough to do well so I think it is mostly due to Max bravery. For this reason I have not put my predictions yet, I need to see the race at 20 PM European time and then decide how to go for tomorrow race as in our time the qualification starts at 00.00 AM so it is in the same date as the race  Grin on 20 October. I need this information before blasting my picks in, it is essential I think to anyone to get this info before deciding how to go and this can also tell us for real if the Redbull upgrades can make a difference which would lead most of us to change our picks that we have already in mind.

They are only 30 or so points behind. Everything is still open, teams had time to work on the cars, whoever did the best ob will be the champion - even Ferrari has an outside chance.
I hope it will be McLaren, a change is needed. But way too early to say Red Bull is out of the race.

In the drivers' race Verstappen's probably just a bit too far ahead for Norris to have a chance.

Yes i think we talk so much about Newey moving away to a new team but we dont talk so much about how RedBull is gonna replace him and how much is gonna hurt the team this movement, this can lead into a very bad spiral for RedBull, because they are so adapted to work with him and no matter who is the new guy who replace him is gonna be another kind of work and philosophy.

While it is true that this guy (Checo) has had a terrible year, sometimes the way the media or some fans rate Checo is hiting the bullets that should go to Red Bull, or to Max himself, in fact Helmut Marko* said it, any other driver could be more or less at the same pace as Checo, but there is no difference in getting another driver, unless they put another world champion as a teammate.

Conclusion: Perhaps the only way Checo is not or leaves Red Bull is if Max is not at Red Bull.

They were fine with him when they were dominant and he was a perfect 2nd guy who doesn't even try to challenge Max.
Now when the dominance is gone, they would really like to have somebody better than him.

Max might get the driver's title, but they will probably lose the constructor one. Blame cannot be on Max of course, it will be on Perez - but should realistically be on the guy that's keeping him there.

I think that they lose the constructors title because of everyone being at fault in the team there and honestly it is because of Newey moving away from the team. In the beginning of the season Redbull was still doing fine, once Newey got away we saw them going down drastically in performance and this led to Redbull already losing their constructors title. It is of course thanks to Max who has been able to come 2nd or 3rd in races where this Redbull car has been a shit car in the true meaning of the word. So this is one of those rare cases where Perez is not the main guilty of such happening.

What can be said after a break is that Haas has a new look and that Alpin will race like McClaren, at least in the colours of their car.  Undecided

I agree, RedBull fighting with only one driver is a big disadvantage for Max Verstappen.
Perez is doing a bad job to fight for Max Verstappen and put pressure on McLaren.
Oscar Piastri is a good driver who can take points away if he finishes in front of Max Verstappen.

It was a long break so I'm really looking forward to the race - let's see if Red Bull can restore some of the early dominance.
Shame it is in the USA, I won't be staying awake - a morning replay will have to do. Shame I'll already know the results.

Where do you guys watch F1? I watched it on the regular TV channels and found it a bit boring, then one time went to a friend's house and he's an F1 fanatic. He showed me the official app where you can change the cameras constantly and after that F1 became 10x more interesting to me.
If you like F1 and still don't have it, I highly recommend it. The camera from driver's view is amazing.

Yeah, finally F1 is back!  Grin  It has been such a long time since we saw the last race. I always say this, there should only be one long break which is in the summer in a season. No more than that. But we got another break of one month a short time after the last one. Who is preparing this calendar for real? Anyway I hope we have fun rather than a boring race.

I thought of purchasing a subscription on F1 TV. However it was really expensive in my country so I chose a local broadcaster subscription instead.  Tongue  But I really love F1 TV Pro. I had the chance to try it once and it was so fun to watch the races in a detailed view.

It will be quite the shock to see RedBull back in front because it's clearly they lack a lot of pace and speed but with Max in that car , anything is possible...literally anything. I also think he won't miss his 4th title no matter how hard McLaren will make this fight for him and no matter how hard both Norris and Piastri will try to back Max off. Max is that type of guy who will give anything in the last races to win and I'm sure his team is already prepared for last couple of races with a proper balanced car but until then , I say McLaren will keep their dominance. I really think we are gonna have some surprise this race weekend, with this long break i can feel RedBull making some adjustements to the car and trying to fight back in this last run of the season, trying to secure the Verstappen title and trying to reduce the gap in constructors.

If they fail now.... not so much hope ahead i think.

Red Bull had better be doing so. Because the gap of power between them and McLaren has been quite big recently. The balances has changed so much that they must have also been surprised about how they lost the lead this serious. This is really what makes this season more interesting. We have seen many different winners and results. This is always good for maintaining the spectators' attention as well. Smiley

It is very probable to see McLaren becoming the champion this season. But when it comes to drivers, Norris has a really difficult job ahead.

Yes, but i also think we are discounting one very important thing about the RedBull and Mcclaren fight, the fact that RedBull is playing with only one driver, and i m not talking about the points, im talking about in how this affect the race development, if Checo was in better level he can do so much in the track to for example being a plug or force some pit stops to the other team, but this is not happening at all.

After a long break, another Formula 1 race this weekend, but I have absolutely no plan for a tip after the long break. I'll probably wait for the first day of practice now, after the long break I assume that one or other of the teams will have improved a bit.

If it is in the upcoming race then Norris is definitely a favorite. He seems to have sorted out his race starts and we know that the Mclaren is a beast during qualifying so it seems like a given now that he will win however I do not want to erase Ferrari from the equation.

As I just said, it's very difficult to predict, but of course McLaren is one of the favourites, but very difficult...
