Not a bad start for me as a first participation but I didn't expect Leclerc to suffer such a stepback since 1st race and having a DNF while Pierro was watching from Ferrari's box. Nevertheless , I must say Alonso is looking like he won't retire until he has a REAL chance to fight for another championship and today he show that Aston Martin can produce maybe for next year a car for this.

Big picks for our Yellow cap and a well deserved place. Now , I guess we all gonna haunt you hehehe Grin Grin

Leclerc's having an engine failure while we were getting close to the end of the race changed the whole picture. famososMuertos qualified for winning a yellow cap by getting a whole 17 points and finishing the week as the first.
Congratulations this round yellow cap winner for amazing result!
I didn't watch the Bahrein F1 race so I was just checking results and how I did in Superbru, not as good as I expected Sad
I knew Red Bull has the fastest formula cars but I was hoping for big surprise and Hamilton to win the race because he knows his track very well from previous years.
Next one is Saudi Arabian Grand Prixon March 19 and I hope for better results Wink

Exactly I had 6 points to made from finding the correct three places and the complete podium and I immediately lost 4 out of them with him being out.Strange enough I also did not expect McLaren to screw up that big as they did as they are the first team to have started car development for this year since May 2022 so I expected a lot more from them.

Alonso looked very happy tonight with his team radio messages like "This car is so lovely to drive" meaning him to be in a complete different planet compared to when he used to yell at McLaren messages like "GP2 engine" and "Undriveable car".

Then what is the situation for changing picks to sacrifice the early points? Smiley There must be one Smiley
Well I guess if you thought that Red Bull will have pole positions and made their drivers to finish on the podium and both have troubles with the car in qualifying and start from last positions you could change your pick to some other driver. Not gonna happen, but that rule with 2 points for early picks seems like great one for F1. Big influence on my decision to join, wanted to see how it works first hand.

For that situation I think rarely sacrificing the early 2 points have brought better results, the only couple of times I changed a few things after seeing that for example Sainz got penalty and I didn't know that he would start 20th and once I knew I changed the picks losing the 2 points and this came out even worse for me as I was put last in the standings of that race.

Speaking of this one though if it ends like this I think most of the people will get a lot of points if it ends with the actual positions like they are now and just less than 20 laps to go.Overall a boring race and only the Aston Martins fighting against Mercedes make it look like a beautiful one.

The F1 pool is more complicated than a football pool. Therefore you can ask about everything, feel free. Everyone has a different strategy. But I think the biggest factor in my finishing the pool as the 1st last year was that I collected EBP points (2 points) by making my predictions before the qualifying session. Practice round doesn't matter. Only qualifying and race results are taken into account. However you need to make your predictions before qualifying in order to win EBP.

Thanks buddy Smiley Yeah I try to read on my own but there doesn't seem to be much help. I am still figuring out Practice/Qualifying/Race and the differences, and in some races the Pole is decided differently? Like it says in once place it's the fastest time, another says it's aggregate (whatever that means). That's not clear to me at all, but I guess the safest is just to pick all the names first as soon as possible and then try not to change it before qualifying.

The early 2 points you get only if you put your picks before official qualifying which is today at 16 PM European time and you lose them if you change your picks after qualifying has started. There is no good in changing the picks even if you don't find the pole sitter correctly from what I have witnessed from last season.

I'm kinda confused here..  Do you get points in both quali and the race or just the race?  I made my picks for quali but I seemed to have missed something as I still have no points.  And does this thing lock automatically?  I can't lock my picks and I can't find the lock button thingy.  There are those ones beside the drivers' names but when I click it, it says my pick was saved and I can change it later.

What is this?

Because the pole position is determined in qualifying session we are getting points from there. Apart from that we don't get any point from qualifying. It is normal for us to have zero points now. Because all points of the race week are calculated collectively after the race.

I think the idea for the Formula 1 competition is great. Therefore, I would also like to participate. I have already sent the entry fee of 2mBTC to @CLS63. Could you still send me the invitation link for Superbru? Then I can still submit my tip for today's game day Cheesy

I wish everyone good luck and most of all a lot of fun!

We have become 29 members together with you.

You can make your picks even if you don't get the link to the pool. Just enter main F1 predictor there. Later on when you get the link your scores are automatically transferred. That works for football pools I am running and I expect it will be same behavior here.

Shouldn't we already have some points in the pool? For pole position at least? I guess everything gets calculated after the race.

I'm also thinking the same thing as you. Even if they can't get the invitation link their points are valid when they join the league later. As you said all points are calculated at the same time after the race. As I sent the pool invitation link minutes later there is no possibility for -Lemming- to have a problem.

They are calculated after the race don't worry,if you have got the pole sitter right and also have put your predictions before the start of the race and do not change anything you will have at least 3 points,I know I have 3 points as I put my predictions earlier than official qualifying and also found the pole sitter correctly, they simply are not updated in the leaderboard yet but just 10-15 minutes after the race up to a maximum of 30 minutes you will see the updated leaderboards and we will see who will get the first yellow cap of the season.

Now that I think of it,time to remove dust from my Sportsbet account.

Now that I know you guys can get F1 to over 20 people, I pray you all do the same favour to Champions League, Serie A and La Liga pools next season, because... where have you all been all this while? Haha.

Right then, here is my opening week strategy: Pick the first selection on Superbru pulldown for everything.

Trust me, I know how this works, because it didn't work out so far haha

This year I did not forget to get the 2 Early Brew Points and I even found the correct pole sitter so starting the race of tomorrow already with 3 points in pocket and I am not caring that much about the picks that I have made as most likely a lot of them will come true even if unknown events like Safety Car can impact the outcome of such race.

I am surprised at Alonso performance despite his age and he also said that "I would like if I said that the car did not felt good" so this was just a fast lap but I will keep an eye of him tomorrow for the race as usually he is much better during the race than the qualification.

So far, we have 25 participants and counting; I believe the game will become very popular here on the forum over time. It will be thrilling to watch and interact with this magnificent sport. I made my decisions early on. I will monitor the events of this race today to ensure that my choices are correct or to change some positions.

boltz also sent a PM last night and said that he wanted to join the pool. There is a really entertaining season waiting for us. I hope I can get all your money. Cheesy

The last practice session has ended. And I need to remind the people who still haven't made any prediction.

I've seen your post in the F1 thread. I don't have much information about pools but I also want to join. I've been following Formula 1 for a long time. It'd be amusing to join such a pool.

I have sent a PM.

Hey guys, I have a stupid question. New to the pool so I read how it all works and I kinda get it but from all the discussions, it's wise to just put in all the picks before qualifying because you get free points right?

So then what's the "best" way to still make good picks that isn't too early? Is Practice Round considered for the scores? Like yesterday I thought it was qualifying but it's practice. This doesn't have any effect on the race, just qualifying right?

AND if you don't qualify, your pick automatically gets zero?

Practice round is not considered for the scores but can give us valuable insights as to have a better idea about the drivers performing on a specific track.Yes this has no effect on the race, only the official qualifying assign the starting grid position of each car.
