The problem is the design of this track which in theory tomorrow during the race both Redbull should be advantaged because of the big straights, maybe Ferrari is great a single lap but I am sure that during the race of tomorrow their tire degradation will ruin their race as always and drivers with conservative driving skills regarding tires will surely be doing better here.
Track seems to be similar like Monza, where Ferrari has been very strong as well. Long straights and a few chicanes seem to be profitable for Ferrari and also cold temperatures, where Ferrari can heat up tires very quickly. It remains to be seen how Ferrari will do in tire degradation, of course. Sain was quick as well and probably he can even get on podium, should he be able to get past the cars in front of him quickly.
Biggest negative surprise was McLaren. Both cars were stuck in Q1 and I'm not sure if McLaren is really competitive here in the race because qualifying was awful.

If that move by Leclerc would have not been successful on Perez on the last lap I would be the yellow cap for today race, yet the yellow cap goes to another guy,Saint-Loup and congrats to him for that,I am happy with 2nd place in such a disastrous race which I never thought to be getting these many points.

The Safety Car changed things quite a lot and Ferrari was unlucky to have the Safety Car just 5 laps after they pitted,so this overall was the race panorama and Redbull could not win with a big margin today,it showed that Ferrari was there too.

Correct, Ferrari have dominated in Las Vegas so far this weekend, but the big question is can they translate it into the race, especially in terms of maturity, strategy and holding the car?

In any case, I was lucky once at Superbru and put Leclerc on pole position, it will be interesting to see if he can do the same in the race, Max will certainly try to win the first race in Las Vegas.

The problem as always will be the management of the tyres.
RBR is a lot storngher there.

Big graining is also expected, it will be an interesting race especially for Sainz.

You did really well to do this. When I saw the practices and saw Redbull struggling I thought they are just struggling in free practices as always and in the qualifying they will get things done so I stick to Verstappen and lost a point.Nevertheless I did not change my picks even as I see Perez starting 12th for the race of tomorrow,it is going from bad to worse for him and I think he needs to be replaced,I always defended him but somethings like these pathetic runs cannot really be defended.

Let's see tomorrow it is going to be a beautiful race and I guess my desire to be in top 5 would go in ruin after this race so I would be happy to land in the last paying spot.

It was actually not Perez's fault there. It was completely Red Bull's fault. Because they took a big risk by not sending Perez for another attempt. I was actually expecting a better work from Perez as it was a street circuit. I still have hope for him to reach podium. Besides Sainz can also rise in ranking during the race. Because Ferrari have really been fast so far. At the same time tyre saving is also going to be very important for racing tempo here.

I guess it is one of those rare races where Ferrari engineers got the setup right as I cannot explain it otherwise,it is of course not the drivers skill here as there are surely better drivers than the Ferrari ones in street circuits.

First I picked Verstappen for pole position but ten minutes before qualifying started I was still indecisive between him and Leclerc. I wish I changed it to Leclerc.  Sad  I just couldn't take the risk by thinking that my closest competitors would probably pick Verstappen just as me. While there are 2 races left it is a really important risk to take in the end.

However I'm confident about Verstappen in the race. I don't think Ferrari would find a better racing tempo than Red Bull. Perez and Sainz both are going to start out of top 10 by the way.

Sainz's 10-place grid penalty decision was unbelievable but it was still nice of him to finish qualifying in 2nd place. As for Perez it was completely Red Bull's fault that they didn't let Perez have one last flying lap.  Sad

The qualifying session was literally dominated by Ferrari!  Grin Leclerc's winning pole position helped me get advantageous as well.  Smiley

This would actually fit so well for Ferrari to win today and take first victory of the year right ? I also don't want to see Max win again as I'm simply overbored to see on repeat the same thing with RedBull and Max on first place and for the sake of the sport , I hope we get a new winner today.

Great to hear you had faith in Leclerc so let's hope the strategic team will be inspired as well.  Cool

Life, Love and Laughter...
^  You mean overall this whole season he's been disappointing...  I think the last race was his highlight for the whole season.  Lol.  But yeah, the question is if he could still redeem himself next season as Red Bull could have already earmarked a guy to replace him after his contract with the team ends.  As for who the replacement is, dunno...  But I'm hoping it's Daniel Ricciardo.  On his good days, he's way better than Perez imho.

Anyway, from a betting perspective...  Nada.  Verstappen at 1.29.  Not much meat on the bone imho.  But it could be a volatile race as this setmof drivers haven't raced in Vegas before.

What car is fastest on the straights?

You even ask what car is the fastest in straights? It is the Redbull in normal conditions and we have seen that in Monza it was Ferrari as they had setup the car with a lot of top speed,in Vegas though it would be a wrong thing to do as beside the straights there are also different difficult curves here.

I think Verstappen at 1.29 is still a good bet as under normal conditions we all know that he is going to win,one thing is sure though this is going to be undoubtedly the best race of the whole season,it is going to be huge.

Looks like it isn't RBR for the weekend.  Ferrari has been the fastest for most of the weekend except FP3.  And Verstappen's line is now at 1.40 - 1.45 depending on what book you look at.  Still the guy most likely to win according to the books but if Leclerc keeps calm and the team gives him a good game plan, he could end up winning it imho.

And I've always thought Ferrari and Merc were slightly faster on the straights due to their PU and Red Bull faster on the turns due to the Newey factor and better aerodynamics.

This was a fact that I knew. They have mostly been better in one-lap performance rather than racing pace. We saw another example of this today. I assume that Red Bull didn't want to use fresh tyres for Verstappen to go hard for pole position.

This was why he was really slow in his last attempt in Q3. Ferrari drivers did a great job today but Sainz has a grid penalty of 10 places I'm afraid. If his racing pace is strong then he can still manage to climb places of course. McLarens were a big failure by not even qualifying for Q2.  Sad

When it comes to what car is fastest on straights I can say it is Red Bull now.
Yes, I've expected RedBull to be ahead, in front of Ferrari here a bit as well but turned out that RedBull really struggled today and Ferrari had a great FP2.
I got Ferrari winning the qualification at 4.40 before free practice but unfortunately, Verstappen ruined it, when he only got 4th place in FP1, where practice was cancelled after Sainz had an accident due to a badly prepared track.

Still, Ferrari is looking fast and Leclerc could take pole later, so maybe we'll get a Leclerc pole and a Verstappen win again.  Cheesy
Sainz will get a grid penalty but Ferrari is looking fast, so I believe this seems to be a great value bet:

And only 2 rounds to go, so make sure to enter your predictions on Superbru. It's still very close.

What car is fastest on the straights?

If Red Bull decide to replace Perez then their choice would be a similar driver who won't make serious problems for Verstappen. Ricciardo would absolutely be a good candidate for that. If we had the old version of Ricciardo then I would have said the opposite. Because he was so ambitious which even caused some really bad crashes between him and Verstappen.

When it comes to what car is fastest on straights I can say it is Red Bull now. Once upon a time it was Ferrari.  Grin  However now they just can't get ahead of Red Bull about that either.

Las Vegas according to the prediction will be a very fast track with a median of over 200km/h.

The top speed should be around 350km/h so we need to see what cars went fast in Monza and Spa I guess

Las Vegas will be an interesting race so far and while it's only 2 races to go, where Max is having his title already, at least Perez will be forced to push in case he wants to have a decent shot for a seat next year. It's know that RedBull will replace him, should Perez continue to struggle.
I can imagine, he'll do very well here. It's a street race, where Perez has done well, overally and his career is at stake, so he needs to show a good race.
Probably, Leclerc might be forced to take an engine penalty, if his engine is really damaged from Brazil's race, where he had a DNF on his formation lap. But no confirmation yet.

The last F1 races held in Las Vegas was in 1982 if I'm not wrong. It is going to be the first time since then so it is quite exciting to have a different track in the calendar.  Grin

Perez is really disappointing these days. He wasn't like this at the beginning of the season. He got really good results until a point. But after that point something happened and he started to lose his concentration. He isn't a driver who makes simple mistakes very often normally. I remember how great he was in the 2021 season for example. Especially his defending against Hamilton in the Abu Dhabi GP was amazing.  Cheesy  I don't know what Red Bull are planning now. Maybe they might even decide to continue with him as Verstappen is easily carrying them to the title.

From our last rounds, it seems like odds are only coming up the week when the race is happening.
Las Vegas Grand Prix is still almost 2 weeks to go, so odds will come up next Monday, most likely.
I'm looking forward to it so much I thought it was this week  Grin
