From my understanding, their manager Alex Cora will return for a sixth season (even after finishing last in the AL East in back-to-back seasons).

Must have read it wrong before... I see now that it's the chief baseball officer who's going to get a new face. Now I'm looking, 30/1 doesn't really sound so attractive, to be honest, but I'll hit it if it gets to 50/1.
@casperBGD @famososMuertos I like this wild card concept for sure, it's really the type of format that I prefer, giving a chance for underdogs and giving great value to my style of outrights. As I mentioned earlier, the winner had rather worse winning percentages than others. I know there are big arguments for rewarding consistency but wild cards amp up the randomness -- me likey.

Congratulations OP, also those who achieved the corresponding "crosses," and they worked, in my case, I was going for the Rangers for the championship but in game 7.
So, for game 5 and the hypothetical game 6 my bets would go with Arizona, whatever, the post season went badly for me.
To question above, Casper, in fact it is the first title for the Texas Rangers and not only that, the MLB formula works with its wild card idea, it was a world series with two of the worst of the best teams.
In other words, the opportunity to win a World Series title is not necessarily contested by the best teams of the season.

Also, I didn't know this but it's also their maiden WS -- I'll be on the lookout now for pre-season odds on the remaining teams (Seattle, Milwaukee, San Diego, Colorado, Tampa Bay) who've never won it before, or is that wishful thinking?
Looking at stats without even understanding, Tampa Bay looked really impressive just shy of 100 wins in the season (Rangers only had 90, Arizona only 84!). BoSox always gets my nostalgic pick, they're getting a new manager yeah?

Eventhough I had a bet on Arizona, I decided to pick Texas to win before the final series on BSFL
. I guess its a good way to hedge huh and considering that you are an expert in MLB also picked the same answers, puts me at ease

I noticed that today's MOTD would be the Diamondbacks vs Rangers and caught the markets with only a few minutes left before it gets taken down.
I had to back the Diamondbacks here as they field Pfaadt, who looked impressive during his start against the Phillies. Hopefully, the over won't ruin the ticket as this series might be due for an under after going over in the last two matches.

I think that as I mentioned before, you just have to enjoy the bet from the point of view of the probabilities, so already beaten in the Playoffs as a fan of my favorite teams, now it is better, and after several clicks at @1.55 and @2.34 (my indecisions below) I'm going to play it safe and go game by game.
So, for Friday's game and since we are close to Halloween I'm going to Texas Rangers, but because the gods of probability dictate it that way.

I have a small Outright on the Texas Rangers to win this Best of 7 World Series
Im going with different approach for this then, picking Arizona Diamondbacks to win just because Im abit salty with Texas Rangers after they knocked out Houston Astros
. Well Im not really following anything about these two teams but this could be a 50:50 game between these two so I took Arizona mainly because the odds are just higher lol

The Astros couldn't win American League, they fell by the wayside, I was comfortable with Los Angeles, Atlanta, nothing, and! now I have the Phillies left, by default, lol.
Anyway, a final without the "emotion" of some of my favorites, but it is world series, always regardless of the teams, there are 4 good games to watch, and with the idea of watching a seventh game that is decided in the 9th inning, 2 outs, bases loaded...
So, as said the above; something from my losing streak, in-play:
I decided to bet on the Phillies win, in-play: 2x1 - @1.30, 5th inning...
Arizona now wins 3x2, 6th inning, at least they give me @2.48...
And as they say around somewhere on the planet: " you have to die with your boots on" /
