When I looked at the score table I saw that everyone was very close to each other. Extra points that can be earned can carry you to much higher places in the score table all of a sudden. Today I'm indecisive between 3-0 and 4-0 for the Barcelona match. I don't think I can make a decision about it until the match starts.  Huh

Can you imagine what kind of carnival will begin when Barcelona becomes the champion (5 rounds before the end of the tournament if everything continues according to the current schedule)? Real Madrid no longer has the motivation to strain + Barcelona + some other teams will be added (maybe Villarreal will secure the Europa League but fall behind the top 4) - all this will increase the randomness of the results very much, I think. Maybe even it will be similar to Serie A  Grin

This is a new Barca that doesn't have problem winning matches 1:0 so I am thinking there will not be that many goals. Barca will play, score one goal and then wait until opportunity presents itself for more. I went with 2:0 in the pool for now but still thinking about changing it.

Seems like nobody is giving much chance to Girona to score a goal today but they aren't that bad and I wouldn't even be surprised if Barca drops points today. Not betting on this one for sure.

Almeria its a HOME team like we can see they took 26 of his 30 points in home games, they never win in away games this season, its a really strange one.

And Valencia.... what can i say..... i not like them so much but its sad to see a huge team in this situation, i hope this its their bottom and we can see them in the next season in much better shape.

No way they are not getting that 2nd place, not even gonna talk about CL places.

yeah, Real gave up title, but they are not giving up second place, and there is no real competition as well
and Chelsea is nearing, with Lampard, they should be an easy semi-final for Real

we lost another relegation fight, against Almeria, and things are really not going well at the moment, Segunda is calling louder and louder
hopefully, we will end-up above that line, but Almeria was a prime candidate to be below us, and with this match lost, it is getting harder

Somehow I have a feeling Lampard and Chelsea will spring a surprise in CL. Not really because they plan for it but they got nothing to lose now by going all out. EPL is way out of reach now and they might not even get Europa spot, so now this is everything in. If they beat Real, then the final is almost in their hands now.

Almeria shocked me, but apparently not everyone in this pool who already learned that Valencia will give up points even at this desperate stage.

Me I'm glad I make a bit more progress to be in Top 10. I really need a personal boost of confidence at least in La Liga to prove to myself I am not as terrible as tables prove lol

Lewandowski has 27 in 34 games, but compared to his time at Bayern, Lewandowski is clearly on the decline.
But comparing by the team he has around him now to the ones that he had around him at Barcelona, I would say he's not in any form of  decline and probably even more better now, he had it quite easy at Bayern and don't you thin he would have had pretty more easier for him if he was playing under Messi-Neymar and Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets era ?

Last season was the only season since I can remember that Barcelona didn't have a player among the top goal scorers in the league, Depay was Barcelona's top scorer last season he had 12 goals and was ranked 10th in the league.

It is difficult to compare the player's success in different teams (especially when mentally sending him to the past), but for me Lewandowski began to degrade from the moment he did not want to renew his contract with Bayern (and he did it in a scandalous way).
Yes, he's pretty good overall. But if you look at the dominance of Barcelona in La Liga and remember the results of Ronaldo, Benzema, Messi in similar conditions, then Lewandowski's 17 goals look very poor.

Oh man damn but just when you think Real are so so good, they drop points so hot you feel it all dripping. It's like they gave up La Liga already and just want to win cups? I almost want them to do this more and drop 4 more hot games, and suddenly find Villareal catching up with 4th spot? But surely, not possible right?
Not possible and I think Real already made peace in their minds with loosing La Liga, whole focus is now on Champions League and then Cup which should be theirs easy. Even if they drop more games all the others contenders will drop them as well. No way they are not getting that 2nd place, not even gonna talk about CL places.

Now Barca needs to win on Monday and wrap it as soon as possible Smiley
Everyone says how can they beat Barca 4 0 and lose now, but the psychology of two matches is not the same. Real have lost to Barca in very critical matches this season. King's Cup first game, 12 points difference with a last minute goal in the league, super cup final. Now he had to win it and secure at least 1 trophy in Spain. They played with greed. Barça, on the other hand, played laylaylom with the idea that we are already beating, we will beat it again, and we saw the result. In this match, Real played the same way this season in general and lost.

yeah, it is possible to win few times in a row, when you are not a better side, but not every time
probably the best moment for Barca to let down, and Real will have their issues with Osasuna in final

Benzema with two hattricks in a row? is he trying to prove that he is getting into proper shape in a right moment for Real to defend CL title, or what

The final with Osasuna looks like the presentation of the Cup to Real, only with the formal part for an hour and a half - the match  Grin
I don't think that Real will miss this title even if they are busy in other tournaments.

As for Benzema, apparently he returned to good shape and now the statistics of the season for him are becoming familiar: 25 goals in 31 games. Lewandowski has 27 in 34 games, but compared to his time at Bayern, Lewandowski is clearly on the decline.

I was just thinking the same, Barca can't keep winning 1:0 against Real for sure. Real is too good team to be kept at bay that long. Last game in the cup Real probability deserved to score but didn't, that kind of things usually have a way to work themselves out.

Sorry Barca but no clean sweep. Vini and Benzema show as usual, the latter on a hattrick now. As Teofo said, evening out things as expected.

Still half an hour to salvage a draw but two goals a bit too much to ask for now, huh.

I would call this result a return to normality. This year, Barcelona are phenomenal in beating outsiders with amazing efficiency (and elements of luck as the score is very often minimal) but at the same time losing to serious opponents devastatingly. As soon as Benzema slightly returned to good form, the defense of Barcelona could not oppose him (and of course Vinnie's great merit).
By the way, did anyone notice Lewandowski on the field? I'm too lazy to count now but it looks like Benzema has played fewer games than he has already scored more goals.
As Barca fan I have to agree. Beating opponents 1:0 all season long is mix of overperforming and luck. When of concede just 9 goals in 2/3 of La Liga season and then in one game you let opponents to score 4 is really back to reality. Even about first leg - we didn't deserved to win it. Today 1st half was still somewhat OK, but after conceding goals in 2nd half Barca looked completely devastated and let Real to dominate. Not looking for excuses, but absence of injured players like de Jong, Pedri and Dembele affects Barca a lot.
Barca won few big games, like last El Clasico in La Liga or Supercopa final, but today and against MU we had no chances. It's good that at least we already have La Liga in our hands.

Probably Draw No Bet is much safer?

thinking about Real to win and pass through
it is too much for Xavi and Barca to beat Real on every occasion

Osasuna will be a tough rival in the final for any of them, they were a bit lucky last night, but good to go into final

a bit off-topic to Barca, Messi was offered $400 million contract from Al-Hilal, but he is also considering moving back to Barca, as I understood

eyeing a final for Osasuna

Me too, but I didn't get the result I was hoping for last night. I know they should have lost anyway even without seeing the odds but somehow I had a feeling that didn't turn out right.

Someone has to stop me from going big on Barca tonight, I still haven't placed any bets yet but the itch is so hard to scratch lol

Referee awarded cheap penalty which saved Valencia from loss, but draw at home with Rayo doesn't helps them to run away from relegation zone.

expected a win last night, but as you pointed out, we need a penalty to take a point, early goal by Rayo changed the match

nevertheless, it is better to get point from losing during the match, than do get a point after leading during the match, and that was the case mainly in first part of the season
still, relegation fight continues

eyeing a final for Osasuna
