LE ☮︎ Halving es la purga
Now I'm sure that we are group of people who watch La Liga for the first time and pretend to show that we know this league well. From 20 people, NOBODY didn't backed Real Betis against Real Sociedad. It's kind of 50/50 games, so it's strange that at least few peoples didn't predicted Betis win.
I don't even talk about Real draw with Girona... I didn't watched game, what happened there?

It is necessary to watch football, yes! but with the little time that there is, there's only time left for a few games...

In any case, 20 guys is not a very large sample and it shows that perhaps they analyze the cold numbers above the sensations or that perspective that you mention of following Betis for years and having the perception-intuition today "Betis wins," get the result right is the icing on the cake.

On Saturday I put him to win 1x0 but not because of this result that he obtained is that I see it that way even if he had lost or tied, I don't know, it's the beauty of soccer... and the cold reality of sports betting.

Disclaimer: only when you're not a Betis fan, there's forgiveness.  Smiley

I can be very happy with my poor position than, I am at least not watching La Liga for the last two seasons Smiley Don't get me wrong I watch a game here and there, especially Classico or some other derby but most of my bets and watching time goes to Premier League.

I hate that La Liga changed their time tables to conform to Aisan or whatever markets. In previous seasons you knew you had PL in the afternoon and La Liga in the evening. I still remember those Classico matches at 10 or 11 PM. That was perfect for me, you finish with the day, put your wife and child to sleep and enjoy great football in complete peace. This year classico was at 16:15 my local time, did not get home for first half and rather watched Liverpool - City when they started at 17:00.

It's still very late for us actually, for example 415 Barca time is 11.15pm my time. Most normal people can watch 1st half but if you have to be up by 5am like normal people then you will miss 1/2 hours of sleep every time your team plays IF they play early.

It used to be quite common and perfectly easy to watch replays, let's say you just go to sleep normally and work and come back and tune into replays (sports channels here do it the next day after 6pm but with social media and all that now it's impossible not to see the scores or hear everything about it that it's no longer fun to watch replays.

My older friends used to hardly watch even 1 match live a season and yet still support teams, and maybe if you're lucky you make it to final of some cup game that our TV stations will show. It's such a different world now but at least we get to see more live games now compared to before.

But for me, teams come first and local supporters. I would really hate the whole football movement moving to just fans or even when they do silly tournaments in Asia, I don't think that's right, it makes footballers tired and you can see they actually don't really enjoy it. For example La Liga wanting to play games in USA regularly is terrible for Spanish local fans. I hope FIFA never lets this happen.

That's very sad for me, because I definitely am not watching La Liga for the first time or even the 5th time. I started watching when Ronaldinho was still king of Barca, that's how sad I feel being such a loser in this pool for season after season.

I didn't see Girona game but that was a nice surprise for sure. 2 VAR reviews that went against Real Madrid I believe, adding to pressure calls for refereeing in La Liga to be under investigation (but this time I think they were correct).

Which is better? Early victory first half 3 nil or last minute goal to win 3 points from your star?

I always prefer the earlier, but I feel like that caused us to play like we do now. Look at Real living on edge all the time, they never get into a weak mentality.

Anyway.

Probably I would do better at predicting cricket or baseball results without even knowing rules of it than La Liga results this season Cheesy.

Like me in this pool, it is absolutely shameful for myself.

I consider this to be the league I know the most about. 17/20.

Serie A almost never watch: 7/16
EPL almost never watch: 23/61

Dull match against Valencia, but it's never easy to play at Mestalla. Barca didn't had many moments and when it already looked that we will drop points, Lewandowski does his job again.
Meanwhile, it seems that change of manager didn't helped much for Sevilla so far, while Atletico loss against Cadiz is beyond ridicululous.

Yeah what a pathetic round tbh... 5 games so far and the highest points in this round is 4.5 pts, and less than 2 points is the average in the pool? Wtf are we doing, lads? 😂 If I didn't know any better, i'd think we're a bunch of nba and badminton fans watching La Liga for the first time lol 🤣

So, it's pretty much confirmed that this will be a two horse race between Real madrid and Barca, right? Sevilla are useless, Atletico are crap and the rest of the team have no chance against the top 2 because of their weak squads. Farmers league is back on the menu

The good thing in this one?. We are all screwed XD

Meanwhile, however well done to the bastards who got the draw, and hats off to Fmbetbru for being the only one not getting fooled by Atletico, really sorry Sobrino spoiled it for you man!

were you betting on this round, Atletico losing, Sevilla losing, it is your thing, man Smiley
and it is too much for Valencia to get win over Barca, after these two in front, but we will try

hope that Cavani will be motivated to prove that he can score from week to week, no matter opponent, after four goals in last three matches
Cavani just lasted a couple of minutes. Match not over yet but quite boring and disappointing performance from both sides. Still 0:0 with just 10 minutes to left, hope we will see at least one goal. I already count my ticket as lost since I had both to score in this one. Managed to navigate all the other surprises but this one got me Smiley

Nice to heard im not alone in this one Tongue

I saw another last ten minute today, the Cadiz- Atletico madrid, what a good ten minutes to see, we have all, Atletico losing 2-0 making 2 goals making a tie game, having the chance to win and losing it again in the last play for a late minute Cadiz goal. Really crazy match, and another lose for Simeone boys quite hard week for them.

The good thing in this one?. We are all screwed XD

I saw the last ten minutes of Mallorca Espanyol, and come man, it was a clear penalty in favour of Mallorca, de VAR see the play and didnt call the referee to call the penalty.

It can be the 2-1 for Mallorca and an exact score for me to try to exit from the bottom, but not happen in that way and ends 1-1.

Yeah, count me in among the losers thinking Mallorca had this in the bag.

I might be wrong but there seems to be an early season case against the refereeing in La Liga, and that includes the VAR. Villareal's Baena getting sent off for a tribute tops the cake and I know every league has controversy but wonder if Spain should start looking into this.

It isn't actually for me as much as hard data to present to someone next year when recruiting for pools. I am spending that much on daily bets usually so it doesn't really make much of a difference to my ROI in the end but still I wanted to measure it properly.

I get those free bets and usually just squander them on some x100 odds and forget about them. This way I will remember that part.

I also had idea to make spreadsheet with data from all my pools - how much money I put into it, how much won or lost and how much I got for winning yellow caps. Haven't found time so far, but I'll try to do it over the weekend. As you said, it's not big money, especially considering that's whole season, but it's just interesting to see actual, not estimate numbers.
And yeah, I'm not good at spending these free bets. Not that I use it on x100 odds, but still I usually lose it.

Without data even, however, ROI is extremely good, particularly because it is skill based, with plenty of chances to win even if you don't end up making season prize.

not just skills based, there is luck as well, especially with yellow caps
even putting all surprises, one round will put you in the lead, due to several unexpected results, and with 38 rounds and less than half participants, it is really hard to expect to miss one-two yellow caps per season

back to round, two interesting duels in Bask country, Bilbao vs Villareal and Sociedad is facing Betis

overall, big derby for us, Barca is coming after Europa league embraced them, maybe we can punch one shaky win this weekend

Good luck on that hard data! Definitely hope it convinces new faces to hop on.

I think the pools boil down to interest mainly. Admission fee is hardly anything considering almost every poster is earning at least that much a week from campaigns. I understand fully those who feel they cannot play all the pools, I do not get those who aren't in any yet claim so much interest by posting in threads.

Well, okay, I get them, but prefer not to accuse them of anything heh heh.

Good idea for spreadsheet, but I guess I actually dump about 10 mbtc into pools and consider that an immediate loss. Less in past seasons as there weren't so many pools, and then counting the sponsorships I've probably put myself into a nice hole BUT I consider all these as one-off expenses for season long entertainment, so no biggie heh.

Don't forget first picks tonight Wink

Congrats on the yellow cap!  Wink It turned out almost the way you wanted. Aidu's goal in the 89th minute allowed you to be ahead by 3 points at once against all those who were on a par until the very last match. Quite unexpectedly that only you guessed to predict the score 1-1 in this game (apparently, this score is the most popular among bookmakers, based on the odds they offer).
Ha my first one in I don't know how long in the pools I am running, this is going to the spreadsheet immediately since I am actually keeping scores of how much I spent on the pools and how much I got from them. That way I hope to prove that even mediocre performance with entries in multiple pools almost has to work out a net positive for the player.

Now it is time to enter picks and get Yellow Cap in Champions League as well.

Wow, you have a meticulous approach. I think that, taking into account sponsors, the profitability of pools is obvious - this is not a game with a negative/zero sum, but a struggle for bonuses. If we assume that on average everyone has the same chances (I think it is), then on average everyone should receive a refund of their contribution + part of sponsorship money.
Yesterday in the Champions League knocked me down - I don't really like games when clubs have either little or no motivation. Too many randoms.

it is fun and enjoying, and that is always net positive Smiley
one more disappointing La Liga round for me, Valencia broken down, and I am closer to down than upper area in this round, nevertheless, still in top10

hopefully, CL round will be better, Sevilla started with a breakdown, first scored in 90+1 to have exact 2:0, and then scored one more for 3:0, just to have me on same close score as on 1:0
nevertheless, put them on parlay live in second half, solid odds @1.8 to win
