It was last round before Wolrd Cup break, this weekend Copa del Rey games will be played. I'm only one who don't feel Wolrd Cup vibe yet? My brains still can't accept fact that we will have Wolrd Cup in winter, in the middle of club season.
You are not the only one, hell I am running a bunch of world cup promos for Sportsbet and I can't belive it will start in 9 days. Exactly, I understand how well he's been loved by the club and its entire fanbase, but the love came from years of consistency being the third best team after the duopoly of Barcelona and Real Madrid and Atletico more often than have always been up in the title chase too over those period and actually winning the league ahead of those two powerhouses, while also showing that they're a considerable threat to feared in Europe, but with that glory and impression gradually slipping away, it's just a matter of time before the club will consider other alternatives that would appear cheaper, and to think that the club have actually been spending significantly on transfers in recent years.
It's a sad case of complacency from players and short term memory of fans and unrealistic expectations of clubs in general.
You cannot, without fresh money and fresh players MORE THAN YOUR RIVALS year after year, keep a club consistently winning things. You cannot also, expect a manager to have effect on results all of the time.
I think also even if Atletico never won, they would still get the Arsenal or Spurs effect sooner or later. People just want more, like in real life, most people aren't satisfied and think they know better.
As much as I hate Simeone and his style, from what I understand, the club's ethos fits him, and he fits the club. He's still the right guy for the job, he just has been out of touch lately. Can't believe I'm defending him lol.

don't want to brag, since I am surprised, but we trashed Betis, like in good old times, 3:0 at home (most action in second half, but all in all we were much better team during whole match)

Anyway, it seems that this season fight for UEFA spots will be so hot. There isn't just usual suspects involved, but also Osasuna and Rayo looking solid. And maybe I'm dumb, but I still don't want to write off Sevilla completely, despite that now they're in relegation zone.

Betis stood no chance 
but massive performance from Valencia today as they keep scoring points and grind towards European spots. If Betis keep getting red cards , they will have to use players from second team 
because it seems they get a red card once in 2 games and performance is automatically being hurt by this eliminations.
Real so far are doing great but Cazid looks like no challenge for Real tonight.

I think Simeone its much more criticized here in Argentina than in Madrid.
But this its because he represent a form of play who have lovers and haters here, and its a dirty one, its the school of Bilardo the manager who win the World Cup in 1986.
Its a very very interesting topic for the people who love football, and have ton of funny stories (Bilardo) inside the pitch and outside.
He managed all until if the player can have sex with her wifes or not.
When he play for example, they stuck pins into the rival players before jumping on a corner that they then hide in their socks.

Atletico Madrid succumb to yet another defeat, I wonder how long will this go on for before Diego Simeone's job would be at stake ? I don't think he'll finish the season at the club if there are no changes with their performance and most especially the results.
Bear in mind he is also the manager with highest wages in the world. I belive Pep is maybe now making more but he was highest paid for long time. Just to put things into perspective, he is still earning double of what Ancelotti makes in Real Madrid. Makes you really think, especially since even when Atletico did well they played unwatchable football.It's looking worse and worse with every passing game, and not even finally playing Felix is helping the team more than to climb one step up after going back 2 steps down.

It seems that Sevila kept their local derby mindset when starting the game tonight, don't know how else to explain two red cards inside first half. They are already trailing 2:0 against Sociedad and this game is already over. Just a question of how many goals Sociedad will score tonight.
Not gonna watch but I am interested to see if Atletico Madrid is able to get full 3 points tonight. I am predicting another though game for them and possible draw.

I think Sevilla will probably be proud of themselves for avoiding total humiliation from Real Sociedad by getting back with a goal difference and they were able to keep the defeat marginal. I was expecting a large goal difference tonight and Real Sociedad were going to make that happen, but Bono made some really great saves and earned me an exact score point in the pool.

Mmmm i agree with you in the Barcelona part, but in the Real Madrid one no. You know Real Madrid always have this upside down, but a diference between them and the other teams its Real Madrid only loses matches with not so much importance, and in the real ones they win.
Also Ancelotti says some in this way. He said "better a lose now than a lose in an important match" after losing against leipzig for UCL.
And in Girona.... what can i say i went for Elche and his first win but.... not ended good.

If you had put some money on the match and watched it as well, it surely would have been a typical game of mixed emotions right from when Barcelona conceded the early and Lewandowski also getting sent off for a second bookable offence, although, I felt it was somewhat harsh, but it rather needless from Lewandowski too especially knowing he was already booked earlier, It was probably Barcelona most impressive win so far this season, coming from a goal down and playing with 10 men for well over an hour against this good Osasuna team.

Barca game wasn't easy at all. They conceded very early goal, tthen Lewandowski got second yellow card already in the 1st half. Interesting that referee of this game in his career gave red cards to Messi, Neymar, Saurez and now Lewandowski. Also, Pique probably become first player who got red card after retirement. And what a goal Rapinha scored, something similar what Van Persie scored against Spain in 2014 World Cup. Very rare player would make decision to make header in such situation.
P.S. I can't believe that I managed to predict outcomes of all 3 today's games and even got one exact prediction

Despite watching the vast majority of Barcelona's game this season, I haven't particularly been keeping up with the statistic and only got to find out today that Barcelona have only conceded 4 goals from the 13 games played so far, I sure would have argued it was more without having to check.
Yeah, we started getting better at the back once we put in experienced hands, many including myself did hope for youth all over the field, but I have to admit, in defence especially, it can be a wise idea to put veterans in and leaders, the hunger to win is attack minded (I don't know how to explain it more).

Monday night drama if you guys aren't watching, Trejo took a VAR given penalty but Courtois saved to keep the score 2-2 (oh and their manager got sent off too, you know because they like that), but VAR recalled and saw he'd stepped off the line to save it. Retake, scored, and 3-2. All this after I missed first half of 4 goals.
Real are scary. 1 shot on target, 1 goal (1 was a pen). So they really don't need to create chances when playing like shit. Just create goals.
There are going to be more cards than goals in closing 20 minutes...

Rayo Vallecano did Barcelona a solid one there, and I can't argue Real Madrid played well enough to avoid defeat, I often find them to be most luckiest teams in recent because of the numerous comebacks they've record and play utter shit football but still get the win, not tonight though! They had only 2 attempts on goal for the entire game.
