Arsenal lost this one with individual errors, Tomiyasu gifted the first goal and Gabriel gifted second one. You can't play like that against top teams. Than Nketiah topped it off with two big missed headers. Could have been so much better for gunners.

City on top of the table, but Arsenal with one game less. Can't get closer than this.

Arsenal maybe with one game less but the problem is that they lost the direct match and is a sure thing for them to be in a big psychological pressure which I doubt they can keep it and eventually they will be making more errors than Manchester City.Manchester City made the errors in the beginning of season and lately have been on a great form while Arsenal recently is going from bad to worse not being able to win in 3 of their 4 last games and that is a big red flag for me that they have lost their form.

In theory though if they win that game that they have less than City it could be a moral boost to them and impact them positively for the continuation of such challenge.

Am here feeling like Manchester City will win this game easily but I think the referee will be the party pooper of this game!

As far as I know such games need some kind of tolerance to allow for smooth play but Taylor has been stealing the headline here.. Hope my City to win 2-1 comes through  Roll Eyes

@buwaytress - Let’s not get carried away on Bajcetic. Oh sod it, I haven’t seen a better, more talented LFC youngster in midfield since 18/19 year old Gerrard Wink

The kid has a huge future if he works hard & stays out of trouble.

Regarding tonight, going to be a tense game. A draw wouldn’t surprise me & I think Arsenal would be happy with that scenario.

Arsenal City trap today? BTTS seems best value, and if you're a believer in either, then the value of ML is unrivalled, especially for City

-snip

actually, I am closer to City win than BTTS
for me is already obvious that Arsenal is fading, when they needed most to prove their championship quality, a lot of matches in a row, and they are not taking points, could almost secured top spot win winning strike in these five, but started with L and D
Though match to call and I actually believe we have a high chance of draw today. Both team would probably be happy with that result, Arsenal keeps its first place and minimum points advantage while City stays inside touching distance and have plenty of opportunity to catch up.

My bet is on both to score but I feel like I should have gone for draw. Much bigger odds and we could see a bit more reserved performance tonight. Can't wait for the game to start, watching this one rather than Champions League and that is saying something.

Arsenal will need to be at their best if they are to break City's winless streak. The Gunners have been in good form recently, but they must be defensively solid against a City side that has scored in each of their last 15 Premier League games. Arteta will also need to find a way to break down a City defense that has kept three clean sheets in their last three Premier League games. If Arsenal can defeat City, it will be a huge boost to their chances of finishing first.i don't think the city will remain idly by in this challenge in order to move to the leadership of the board.

congrats on win

I would add that match was much better than expected
expected a nervous fight, and it was much more than that, Liverpool was indeed better team, although if header before the first Liverpool goal hit the target we would maybe have a bit more to fight for, but Liverpool was better than in previous matches certainly and obviously have much better team at the moment

Everton was playing without any attacker, so one shot on target is above expected Wink

Thanks! Yeah I actually cheered for the goal and it's been a while (even when we did score before I was just too pessimistic to celebrate). What I noticed is our odds for Real and Newcastle (our next games) haven't shifted so bookies are clearly not convinced...

Everton need DCL back asap.

Would have been a very different game if that corner went in. Instead of 0-1 it was instantly 1-0 and the whole dynamic changed.
You could immediately see how more relaxed we were, we weren't in the lead that often in recent months.

We needed this win and overall we played a good game, yes. It has to be said that Everton is horrible though.

I'm hoping we get the same lead in our next two games, and then the Reds machine can get rolling again. Jota, Bobby, VVD slowly coming back from injury... you know what else I think was important? Starting Hendo. I know he hasn't been great but he's still a better influencer these days.

Bajcetic though. Hands up here I wasn't convinced in his first big appearance (cup) but he's been a much-needed "old Liverpool style" player we're putting on the pitch. So good to see.

I've practically given up this season, as I forgot to predict yet again. I don't know how many rounds now I've missed, quite a few I suspect. Anyhow, I'll probably still post my predictions in here from time to time, and how I feel about certain games, but if anything you shouldn't take my advise, and instead do the exact opposite since I've been absolutely dreadful at predicting the outcomes this season.

It just feels like a odd season, and I've barely watched any of it too.

But from a betting perspective I like BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo at 2.06.  It could end up 2 - 1 with either club capable of getting the W.
I'm liking it, the very little I've seen of both teams they've looked susceptible in defense. So, BTTS I'd say is pretty likely. I don't know if I feel confident on betting on one of them to win though. I think it might finish 1-1.

Lmao same.  I do add Premier League matches in making long shot parlays with my free bets won from jeremypwr's threads in games and rounds.  And almost always, it's my pick in the EPL that spoils the ticket.

For single bets I'd rather make over/under picks, BTTS and team totals if they have a little bit of value.  And I think BTTS and over 2.06 has a little bit of value as the match could happen like it's gonna be 1 - 1 before the 60th minute and I'm comfy waiting for another goal from either club.

Even though I didn't believe in Liverpool but yesterday's win gave me 3 points in the pool and I got 7.5 points in this round lol. One of the worst rounds for me and I'm surprised I haven't fallen very deep in the overall standings yet. In general, a rather strange result, it seems that I did not predict anything special. It's funny that four games ended with a score of 1-1, and the game where I predicted this score (Southampton - Wolverhampton) ended with the victory of the wolves. Bad luck.

Liverpool were absolutely very good yesterday. Frankly I needed them to win by a bigger goal gap for my parlay. However they wasted the goal opportunities generously after the score became 2-0. Even though bet websites are showing Newcastle favourite for the weekend I think Liverpool will win this away.

I have one question about this "derbys" its fair call a derby a +31 difference games?.

Here in Argentina we have several examples, and yes they still derbys because it was of the city or neighborhood, but come on man how you can mock the other team when you are in a deficit of 31 games?.

^  City could give Arsenal a tough match tho...  And it looks like Arsenal is getting figured out.  Last couple of last 6 matches shows that they could be starting to falter.  Guardiola and his boys should go for the jugular.  Which raises my other point...  Emery could go for the jugular too and take advantage knowing that the Gunners doesn't have much rest.

I posted this in Jolly's thread but seems like no one really bets on the matches there...  But what do you guys think of Aston Villa draw no bet is at 3.50 and double chance win or draw is at 2.18?  :/

I think that for City this is a life and death match in the sense that it can decide this Premier League season for them.If they manage to win this game they would go on equal points with Arsenal and then give them a motivational boost to continue their good form but if they lose this game together with this loss they also start losing hopes of winning the Premier League despite this being still mathematically possible.

On an Arsenal point of view they need to win this game at any cost after performing really bad in these last two rounds of the Premier League as if they lose this game they also get hit with a psychological impact that they are not doing well and going from bad to worse.

It's a question of who wants it more imo...  I think with City distracted by all the alleged cheating stuff, Arsenal could snag at least a point here and they could afford to.  City on the other hand has to win and not give anything away and they do have the experience edge.  So maybe City..?  Dunno.

So Liverpool returning to winning ways, was about time if you ask me. Did not watch the game so just one question. Was Liverpool that good or was Everton just poor? Want to judge them properly to maybe sieze some opportunity for bet against Newcastle.
~snip

My (probably incredibly biased) view: we were good. Fabinho played his best game in a long time (not that he was great, he was just doing his job and only 1 silly tackle), Bajcetic was superb, Robbo was to me the best player on the field, you never leave him out of a derby. Nunez was his usual threat, and usually not converting but I insist he is being unlucky.

Everton weren't poor, but clearly they were unable to produce the same levels Dyche is demanding, but on that performance they could have beaten most teams in the league.

congrats on win

Newcastle has dropped the form a bit and this match does not look as difficult as it would be a couple of weeks ago.

All those players coming back should help even more.

Jota and Bobby came on to play a bit and I liked what I saw generally. 7 attempts on goal vs Everton's 1 was a fair summary.

And yes, of course I am happy to make back some money, I missed out on 17/10 but I think 16/10 against relegation strugglers was very fair value. At no point in the match did we look like we'd lose.

Apparently the increase in odds was only put in place to scare bettors away as I have bet on them a couple of days before the game of yesterday and I got it with 1.50 odd while yesterday at some bookmakers even passed the 1.71 odd and Liverpool was playing at home against one of the most weak teams of the Premier League of this season.I am glad that a lot of people and including a lot of people from this pool too made quite some money yesterday with this game as we all did bet on Liverpool to win this game.

If you look at Liverpool's performance against Everton, they did play well in that match, Fabinho appeared impressive in the midfield which made Liverpool's game more dominant, so that Mohamad Salah and Cody Gakpo managed to score one goal. Darwin Nunez is also playing well, but has not yet reached his best playing form. This match is not a reflection of Liverpool's current quality, because Liverpool only face teams that are in the relegation zone.

Liverpool's next match is against Newcastle United who are in fifth place in the standings. If you look at the performance of the two, I think that Newcastle United's chances are bigger, especially when playing at home. This will be a good capital for Newcastle when they face Liverpool at home, even though Newcastle have also experienced a decline in performance in the last five matches in the Premier League.

So proud of you @CLS63. I went far simpler than that, just betting simple ML at almost 10 mins live with every satoshi SB would allow me heh. This wasn't even coins I was supposed to have but you know how it goes (one last time). We'll both breathe easier if we get another goal or two but it's a proper derby so far!

The Salah-Nunez-Salah goal... that was so reminiscent of old Liverpool that it almost cut me to see it. Credit to Nunez, Diaz and Mane wouldn't have matched that speed. Extra painful joy was that it was a counter from an Everton header that hit the post...

I do hope that Jota, Diaz and Bobby will help us turn things around. The bigger problem is our midfield though - and that won't be solved before the summer.

Speaking of, I didn't expect to see even one of them but Jota, Bobby, even VVD were all on the bench today!
