Nobody looks like they want to grab their top 4 spot (excluding Arsenal & City). Newcastle are stuttering, as are Spurs. Maybe I’m deluded but if LFC can put a run together maybe 4th isn’t out of the question. Jota, VVD, Firmino back in training. Luis Diaz not far behind.

I’m probably being stupid but if we win our next two games we’d be 6 points behind Newcastle with 1 game in hand on them (we play them next week).

We have managed to crawl out of worse situations. All we need is one of those 10 win streaks that we were doing season after season and I truly believe it would be enough to get that CL spot.
The thing is that we don't look capable of winning 2 games in a row, let alone 10.

I do hope that Jota, Diaz and Bobby will help us turn things around. The bigger problem is our midfield though - and that won't be solved before the summer.

United in second place haha. Bet they didn't see this coming (yeah, played 2 games more but let them have it, the bastards haha).

Anyway, just read that PGMOL have admitted VAR errors (think casperBGD or cryptofrka mentioned earlier about Toney's offside goal) already in 2 recent games... Arsenal dropped points in 2 games where VAR errors were admitted (yesterday and much earlier in the season when they had a disallowed goal against United before going on to lose 3-1).

If them Gooners lose this league by a game or two, it will be injustice. I do believe that everything evens out in the end, over the course of a season, but VAR is a beast that has caused too much unnecessary pain.

It’s a long shot but I think it’s possible. We just need to get our act together and start winning games.
I had 3 points in this round. I noticed that most of the participants achieved few points. It became difficult to predict the correct and close result of the EPL matches.

Well, you can't blame us for taking out the calculator and counting possible points but yeah, we have been here before not too long ago actually (I still remember that season we were playing with 15 different CB pairings waiting for VVD to come back from injury and then Salah/Mane hit top gear to take us home to UCL qualification.

We've always been strong finishers, so let's see. Game by game though and it starts tomorrow.

At this point, I don't care. Want to get out of drama, I'm hearing all sorts of rumours about the club and Klopp. What I'd give to see Bobby, Diaz, Jota, VVD, all back and playing our familiar brand of football again.

I bet with swogerino at the beginning of the season about Manchester United's finishing the season above Arsenal. Even though Manchester United show the kind of performance I expected it looks like I'm likely to lose this bet because of Arsenal's being much beyond my expectations.

No matter how much bad performance Liverpool show in the league in this season, I don't want to watch a Champions League without them. I hope that they can find a place for themselves in top 4 somehow. This is still possible by a winning streak after the injuries are gone.

Today we have a city match against Villa,my expectation is that Manchester City will struggle to keep up with Arsenal and the other top teams in the Premier League. The Financial Fair Play charges will likely be a major distraction and could lead to a points deduction or other sanctions that could further hamper their chances of success. It's possible that they could still make a late surge and challenge for the title, but it's looking increasingly unlikely.

I am not sure about this Chelsea side, just look at their line up. 3 attacking mids behind Havertz are Mudryk, Felix and Madueke, all three new to the club and all three untested in PL. Then you also have Fernadez and Badiashile in first 11 with same problems and on top of that their best player James is just coming back from injury. This Chelsea side has a lot of potential but I don't think they can gel together that quickly. Half of the first 11 has only know each other for 2 weeks. You can do something on individual quality but that is usually not enough in PL.

I am expecting Chelsea to struggle for a couple more weeks and than to have very strong finish to the season.

On the contrary, I think Chelsea might actually finish season more stronger except of course if they have many injury set backs, Chelsea looked quite better today even tough the result doesn't suggest that. I think they now have quite the right quality of team to compete against any team in the league, the combination of Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk looks very dreadful for any defense if they're put to proper usage, and in the midfield Enzo indeed makes them better, I'm not justifying the prize being paid for him though Wink

Yeah, it was awful. This was one of those days I knew I was walking into a trap, and yet I stepped right into it anyway. I didn't think I'd ever say it but Nottingham Forest mercenaries seem to be far better at gelling together than Chelski bois.

I do think they and Liverpool will probably be the best performers of the last 10 games of the season though, one because they'll finally have spent enough time together, the other because they'll get back key players.

Things look this way right now but in order for them to lose the title Manchester City needs to get on a winning run because they are not in a good form either. If they win tomorrow they will come much closer at a just 3 points difference but they will have a game more than Arsenal so overall Arsenal still looks like the most favored team to win the title this year.

Has anyone else got some huge amount of points, where is the captain of our pool who likes to play draws,if he played 1-1 draws today I am pretty sure he would be climbing a lot of positions easily.

Arsenal and Man City still have to play each other twice in the PL. Those games will go a long way towards deciding who will win the title.

I totally agree with LFC_Bitcoin here, those two games with be very vital to Arsenal chances of triumphing, I really liked how Arsenal have played most of the big teams this season, although they've already lost once against City which marginal and Arsenal did play well in that fixture, I'm not rooting all out for either team, but IF Arsenal can get all 6 points (that's me being naive) from that fixture, there literally is nothing else stopping them from winning the league.

Spurs & Newcastle dropping points today, very frustrating as an LFC fan. If we were even half competent this season, top 4 would be up for grabs. I don’t think we will do it though.

Same with Chelsea, we had the opportunity to close the top four gap to 8 points and we fucked up again. If we had won our last two games, we would have been sitting in 6th place, waiting for Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur to drop a few points in order to secure top 4. All we needed was a little competent and good decision from Potter. It's bizarre how every weekend feels the same. I can't remember the last time I celebrated a win  Grin

The Arsenal -Mancity game will be a title decider.

Exactly, that's why I never believe in Arsenal teams. They were in these kind of positions a lot of times in recent years, and they always manage to throw it all away.

as I already said last week, it is kind obvious at the moment, that Arsenal is NGMI

is that just statistics aligned (never win after leading EPL in round 19), or their team not experienced enough, or Arteta do not know how to motivate them during mid-season, but they will bleed points after points, and City will go into winning strike, happened few times with United two decades ago
would like to jinx them, and they eventually succeed, but kind do not believe in them

Yes, I remember the reaction of a significant part of the fans who came out strongly against the Super League and I was extremely surprised by this. But only a little time has passed and I see from the sports forums that the mood has changed and many fans are now at least neutral about the Super League and extremely negative about bureaucratic rubbish from FIFA and UEFA.
As for the Premier League clubs, yes, many are against it, since the Premier League is already a kind of Super League, but now the financial crisis is coming in the Premier League and they will have to solve it either within their organization or within the Super League. I don't see a normal solution within UEFA.
That's a strange one, I'm still absolutely against a super league or any format of it. I don't care about lining the pockets of the rich, I care about football. That's literally what every fan wants, and of course they'll sell the idea by having the best play the best every week. However, that's what a league structure with promotion, and relegation is for. The original proposal they had where the founding clubs had special privileges, was absolutely disgraceful. Honestly, it should be illegal to be that money grabbing, and Liverpool was one of them. It's one of the reasons I'll never trust FSG again, despite them being pretty good for the club overall.

What was also annoying was these clubs laid off staff during Covid, and then was talking about a super bloody league to make more money, it was incredibly insensitive. The only saving grace for me is they changed their decision based on the backlash. If fans are now warming up to the idea, then that'll be the day that football dies, at least for me. I'll go back to rugby which has its own set of problems Tongue.

I see that you are a romantic and I agree with you, I myself would like not money to rule, but the skill of players and coaches, but the world is what it is and money rules.
And in my opinion you don't understand the problem: you can't be against the Superleague because there is no such question now. There is only a choice: the Superleague under the leadership of the clubs or the Superleague under the leadership of bureaucratic thieves from UEFA. It is obvious to me that the business should be managed by the one who deals with it and not by corrupt officials.
If you compare the best leagues in the world like the NHL with the shit that happens under the leadership of UEFA, then you yourself will make an unambiguous choice in favor of the Super League without UEFA. Ideally, we will get a salary/budget cap, a draft system and everything else that just equalizes the strength of teams and gives a chance to the weak. Now, under the leadership of UEFA, we have cheating clubs PSG, City and all football is a cesspool of corruption with almost criminal money.

Arsenal's losing 5 points in their last 2 matches would revive the decreasing hopes of Manchester City. Especially if we think about the match between Arsenal and City on Wednesday. For Southampton their loss against Wolves today would be quite devastating. If you are losing the match from a 1-0 advantage after your opponent starts playing with 10 players this would demoralize the whole team.

Arsenal is still first with a big difference then City but this is normal that the form of Arsenal goes down, they cannot play the entire league at a superb level. Now they just need to get over this crises and start winning matches because City is really close and has a really good team

The first half of today's game was the best I've seen us play all season, with us in possession and playing at a high tempo until he ruined it with second-half substitutions. The game only needed Chilwell to balance the game out. I said it last week, and I'll say it again: Potter is not the guy we thought he was. Now that we have upgrades in all positions, but we are still playing without identity. He's a joke

2 wins in 12 games with over £500m tossed in the Air since he arrived all for what? Chelsea are going to struggle a couple of months if Potter is still the manager. My opinion

How was that Tomáš Souček. handball not given as a PK + a red card. Another weekend, another awful VAR and EPL ref decision?

It could all have been very easy to guess, If only Manchester City anywhere near their usual best as well, City have also been dropping points as well, and Manchester United too have not been banking on it either, perhaps it might have been very interesting if Liverpool were to be in the picture and it the title race, we could have had the top 4-5 teams with just about between 5-8 points then it would have all been a different situation imagine, I'm sure the only real title contender majority of us are considering now is Man City, but can Guardiola's men be trusted look at their performance since the turn of the new year.

That said, another high flying team of the season, speaking of Newcastle are also currently a goal down at Bournemouth, so it's a general thing and not just Arsenal imo.

Did anybody feel that the Brentford goal was offside? I think that it was off twice, not just the 1st time.
Still, it was a really cheap goal to concede and Arsenal should be able to close games like these a bit better - they deserved all the points today.

City is now only 6 points away - with a relatively easy game tomorrow.

That is how you lose a Championship, you lose points with mid table teams when you are playing them at home and you think there is no problem losing 2 points just like that. Now together they are 5 points lost in just two games and they are lucky I think that Manchester City did not win their game last time around,I am sure they are going to have a relatively easy win tomorrow against Aston Villa.

The biggest surprise results though for me and I believe for everyone else was Tottenham lost game with a tennis result. It is one of the most inconsistent teams of all the Premier League.I guess I only have 1.5 points or maybe 4.5 if I got Fulham correct score.
