I don't know why but I think Liverpool will be motivated to attack for top 4 one last time. It doesn't seem impossible to me that Liverpool get a win by a big goal gap in the derby and get three points in the away match against Newcastle with this morale to make their supporters happy in a season that goes on horrible. But I accept that it is very difficult.

It is certainly possible for Liverpool to win the derby and get three points against Newcastle, but it is a difficult task. Liverpool have had a difficult season and have been inconsistent in their performances. They will need to be at their best to get the results they need to make the top four. Additionally, their opponents will be motivated to get a result against them, making it even more difficult. It is possible, but it will take a lot of hard work and determination from the players and the coaching staff.
Now Liverpool is superior by one goal in its match against Everton. It would be great if the Liverpool players could add a second goal, knowing that my expectation was 2:0

So proud of you @CLS63. I went far simpler than that, just betting simple ML at almost 10 mins live with every satoshi SB would allow me heh. This wasn't even coins I was supposed to have but you know how it goes (one last time). We'll both breathe easier if we get another goal or two but it's a proper derby so far!

The Salah-Nunez-Salah goal... that was so reminiscent of old Liverpool that it almost cut me to see it. Credit to Nunez, Diaz and Mane wouldn't have matched that speed. Extra painful joy was that it was a counter from an Everton header that hit the post...

I do hope that Jota, Diaz and Bobby will help us turn things around. The bigger problem is our midfield though - and that won't be solved before the summer.

Speaking of, I didn't expect to see even one of them but Jota, Bobby, even VVD were all on the bench today!

I dont know why but, how the Premier League can put a derby in a Monday?. And its not a little one.

About the game, i really dont know what to think, Everton was a disaster until the last game, and Liverpool doesnt show any good but have plenty of good players. its tricky.

It was lucky on the previous game against Arsenal that Everton won but this does not mean anything as Everton still is a weak team. The fact that they got a new coach does not mean anything and his impact cannot really be felt in the early stages of his presence coaching Everton.Liverpool is waiting for a win from a long time and they are eager tonight to win this game in front of their home fans.It will be difficult but not impossible.

And I would not be surprised at all as the Premier League is well known for playing on Boxing day and also playing on January first, right after they have been drinking and celebrating the New Year,so nothing to be surprised here in this matter  Grin.

looking at odds @1.5 on Liverpool is no value, will be interesting to see where it will be on Monday, Everton is currently @6

looking at odds on Merseyside derby, Liverpool rised to @1.65-1.7 and Everton slided to 5 at the moment
not sure how to feel about tonight, but Dyche inserted new will into Everton team, and they were running against Arsenal as never before (three players from first team covered most miles during one match against Arsenal this season)

DCL is out almost certainly, and win is needed to get out from relegation zone

Wow. Bad signal for those who bet on Liverpool. I noticed that such a change in odds mainly occurred in those games where the favorite team lost points (I noticed this with Real Madrid several times). I don’t know how the bookmakers sniff out such information, but they definitely learned something that affected the odds.

I don't remember a Merseyside derby in which both teams had so many issues like they will have today. Liverpool's season is all but over and Everton is in a serious relegation battle.
It has a potential to be a really nervous game - which will be great for the neutrals.

It seems that Thiago is the newest addition to the injury list - this will be fun, he was our only midfielder that played decent football.

^  City could give Arsenal a tough match tho...  And it looks like Arsenal is getting figured out.  Last couple of last 6 matches shows that they could be starting to falter.  Guardiola and his boys should go for the jugular.  Which raises my other point...  Emery could go for the jugular too and take advantage knowing that the Gunners doesn't have much rest.

I posted this in Jolly's thread but seems like no one really bets on the matches there...  But what do you guys think of Aston Villa draw no bet is at 3.50 and double chance win or draw is at 2.18?  :/

I think that for City this is a life and death match in the sense that it can decide this Premier League season for them.If they manage to win this game they would go on equal points with Arsenal and then give them a motivational boost to continue their good form but if they lose this game together with this loss they also start losing hopes of winning the Premier League despite this being still mathematically possible.

On an Arsenal point of view they need to win this game at any cost after performing really bad in these last two rounds of the Premier League as if they lose this game they also get hit with a psychological impact that they are not doing well and going from bad to worse.

Getting tight up at the top now, Man Utd somehow dragged their way into a title race. Looks like a 3 way fight, only 5 points from 1st to 3rd.

Arsenal don’t need to panic, they have the lead. The other two teams would definitely swap places with them. Time for calm at the Emirates, they can do it.
If Arsenal loses to Manchester City in the coming days, pressure will mount and players will lose focus. I hope this is not the beginning of the end for the Gunners, who had an 8-point lead a few weeks ago and have now lost 4 points. Already in the last 14 days, it does not appear that they will be able to keep up for long.

I'm not sure how long G. Jesus will be out, but the team desperately needs him right now. Nketieh and Martinelli have been slowing down for a few weeks now, and the team has had to rely on midfielders to do the job..
Arsenal had three quite week games in a row and they were lucky City did not come closer even earlier. That is the problem when you are playing well, teams start to respect you more and more and it is much thougher to find spaces in attack. City will give them that space so it could be a good game.

United profited the most from those small slips and I would not write them off at this stage. With Rashford in form and when Casemiro geta back they can win against anybody in league.

It worked today but I am thinking first top club in CL will again end City path to that most coveted trophy.

agree here, but also have to define a top European club
what seemed to be great CL season is vaporing, and I am not sure who can be called Top, so that is a City chance after all

Barca is playing great, but competing in EL, Real is not so great, Bayern as well, Liverpool, Chelsea not to be commented, there is Napoli left as team in form atm

City wins clearly but it was a strange game, Aston Villa creates a lot of chances to score, and in the last 10-15 minutes City cant take the ball and have to defend.
It had to be a strange game, did you guys see the line up Pep decided to bring out today? He left his arguably first 3 defenders on the bench and made Mahrez and Grealish almost full backs. Then Haaland let Mahrez take a penalty kick, WTF? Never seen that one coming in million years and then Pep leaves Haaland in dressing room. I am smelling another scandal brewing in the City and if I had to guess I would say Pep did not like Haaland giving PK to Mahrez. Maybe he just had a knock and I am talking bullshit, who knows what goes in that bald head.

Mmmm i dont know what its going on , but i dont think the PK was part in the trouble, because Pep its habituated on this behaviour, Messi always give penaltys to his teammates.

Surely he is trying to try/prove some for the UCL coming games.

And for the players its not easy being with Guardiola for a lot of years, its a big pressure.

United have plenty of luck today, i saw the start of the second half and Leeds for 20 minutes managed the whole game with some good attempts.

They really need Casemiro comeback, without him the midfield suffer a lot, at least against fast transitions teams like Leeds, with really fast players.

Spurs lack the consistency which is why we can't take them seriously, and with how things are going they might not even make the top 4 finish as other teams like Newcastle look serious about this challenge.

Yes man, but come on its like a bipolar team, and i think the mayor trouble for Spurs its the bad season of Son.

Arsenal's losing 5 points in their last 2 matches would revive the decreasing hopes of Manchester City.
The presure is just too much and Arsenal are feeling it, and with every game that comes their way these will be played like finals as all teams have something to fight for like avoiding relegation or playing the europa playoffs and for all points dropped brings city close to the title challenge without considering the potential expulsion from the premier league.

Especially if we think about the match between Arsenal and City on Wednesday.
This match will be about flexing and showing the world who is more superior, and I don't see Arsenal picking any point from this game tbh. Here comes the winning streak for the citizens Smiley

Arsenal being Arsenal in this last two matches. Lets see if the two catchers this time make a profit.
Could there be a likelihood of fatigue here, if you ask me the boys seem tired and these guys can't afford to rotate the team either.. double tragedy.

Totenham.... what the fuck are they doing? How you can lose 4-1 against Leicester after win against Man City.

No matter how much bad performance Liverpool show in the league in this season, I don't want to watch a Champions League without them. I hope that they can find a place for themselves in top 4 somehow. This is still possible by a winning streak after the injuries are gone.

Liverpool has a rather dismal record - there are only one more wins than losses. And the difference between goals scored and goals conceded is only +6, and if we remove that anomalous game with Bournemouth (9-0), it is completely negative. I doubt that Liverpool is capable of making a serious winning streak. Tottenham are unstable, Newcastle have started churning out draws again, but still these clubs are ahead plus they are not the only ones which want to interfere in the fight for the top 4.

I knew that Manchester United would have won today game against Leeds and not only I predicted it as a correct score I think here but I also played quite a decent amount of money on them to win the game, the odd this time was much better than when they were playing at home.Leeds was just lucky to get a draw in Manchester home in the last game and today that was proof of that.

Manchester City on the other hand is crushing Aston Villa and is getting 3 points closer to the Arsenal leaders making the Premier League wide open again.
