So if my dumb theory about United possibly
Liverpool against Wolves once again, that's fun. Spurs vs City is probably the most important game of this round. I'll probably be going with a Spurs win just to try, and recoup some points in this damn tournament Tongue. Can't see them beating City though, best would likely be a draw. Chelsea, and West Ham is also a decent game, considering that both teams have been woeful as late. Probably, go with Chelsea though since they did hold out against Liverpool, and looked pretty decent with their new signings.

I was just thinking, how else could we match the dullness of the Chelsea game, and yeah, we do that by playing Wolves again. Might as well chuck in the same team that won in the FA Cup really... not sure right now if we can actually do any better until we get some boys back from the treatment table (Nunez did play a bit so maybe he returns to fitness and stops annoying us with his misses).

I feel it all comes to the lack of quality pressing. We did not give teams any time on the ball even in their own half before, nowadays teams are crossing freely from 20-30 yards out.
We aren't equipped to be defending like that, we need to be progressive in our defending and push up more.

We are really missing Jota and Diaz there, and Nunez does not press well too. He made us change how the team is set up and how it works and is what bothers me the most in all of this.

He will probably score goals - but I really dislike how the whole team's set up when he's playing. And on top of that, he is not even putting sitters away.

Yeah, again back to our energy levels. No team can go heavy metal for 60+ games a season, get half sent for a World Cup to return with nothing, and then ask to do it all over again without the personnel.

Klopp and Pep were hailed as geniuses when both teams went for a traditional striker to boost this season but yeah, while they have KdB to feed, we have not managed to convert. He'll come good eventually, he has to... but we do have to revisit the way we play football... we don't got the legs for it anymore.

Not sure how Arsenal fans feel, but I'd be prioritising the Premier League, and while definitely try to be competitive in the other competitions, rest key players with the Premier League in mind. We've already had a World Cup disrupt the season, and they were pretty lucky to keep most of their players fit during that time. Whereas, other teams have suffered or were already suffering before the World Cup. Arsenal, are in the best position they've been in years, and I don't mean top of the table. I mean, their fitness levels, available players compared to the rest of the league. City, are even struggling with some key injuries this season which we don't usually see, as they've usually got adequate backup.

Arsenal is in great shape, beside having a lot of players available different from many other teams in the Premier League, specifically Chelsea is the most impacted team from injuries during this season and maybe they have been the reason of their consecutive bad results while Arsenal not only is without injuries but it is also very calm at the top of the table,it is the most consistent team of the Premier League and I agree that they should prioritize the Premier League but why not try to win also the Europa League and make it a double which would be if I am not wrong be a first for Arsenal.

Arsenal currently lacks the squad depth to compete in three competitions; what do you think would happen to the team if Saka and Ode were to be injured? They currently lack good back-ups for those players, and you need a lot of depth to compete for more than one trophy. Interestingly, both Jesus and Nketieh rested during the World Cup.
They were all rested during the world cup, maybe that is one of the reasons Arsenal is that good. Saka & Xhaka are the only ones in Arsenal squad that played serious minutes and they came home quite early. Jesus and Martinelli played one game for Brazil but it was enough for Jesus to get this bothering injury. Odegard was not even in the WC. Arsenal defense also got only scraps, White did not play a minute and Saliba maybe played one game while Gabriel and Zinchenko missed the WC.

They are currently competing in three competitions, and with the Europa League resuming next month, there will be enough game time for both players. Perhaps use Nketiel for only Europa League and FA Cup games, as the main focus of the season is the league title, and they will have to sacrifice the other competitions or risk losing it all.

title should be a priority, but I don't see Nketiah being sent on bench for Jesus that easily
there is a lot of competitions for Arsenal at the moment, they can get three trophies, and playing great football will be needed to stay in the loop, some of players will certainly need some rest, but Nketiah rested during WC, and he should be ready to take it all

Nketieh is scoring goals, but G. Jesus provides more than just goals. His presence in the team relieves pressure on Saka and Ode, which is one of the reasons he will walk straight into the team when he is match fit; the attack looks better with him in the team.

A hugely important win for Arsenal, I'd say it was deserved as well. Nketiah played a perfect game, Jesus will really have to work hard to get his place in the team back.

United did get 2 goals, but other than that did not impress me much. I did not expect them to ever start with Weghorst in the initial 11 Grin
Nketiah was good but he will loose lot of his minutes and proving time once Jesus comes back. Just the way it works, and rember how good start Jesus actually had. But those are sweet problems and I am sure Arteta will welcome them.

Weghorst did nothing to impress me in first 2 games but I guess they have to start him while Martial is injured and Rashford is playing in form of his life on the left flank.

Dude forced his way out of Besiktas, who were definitely going to buy him at the end of the season, to Manutd, where he will be sent back to Burnley at the end of the season, he is too slow to link up with Rashford, who is way too fast and always wants to be on the counter attacking positions, it is too early to judge him now so I will wait for 5 more matches and see how he adapts.. strikers without pace do not survive here for too long

Liverpool I think it is going to win this time too, they will be needing the points at all costs and Wolves I don't think is any good adversary to keep Liverpool from winning,I know the bad games like the one against Brighton but I think that it was more a bad day for Liverpool and if they play again I don't think Liverpool to lose again 3-0 to a team like Brighton.

Chelsea vs West Ham I think if Chelsea does not win against a weak West Ham then things will be pretty downhill for Chelsea and they will not be able to play in European competitions next year.

A really important win for Totenham, they really need this one, because if they lose or draw today the only way for them was going down in the table and have the same situation of Chelsea and Liverpool who have now to cut a big gap to recover the champions league positions.

I couldn't watch the game so i dont know if Totneham played well or keep playing like shit but with more luck.

important win, and Fulham actually took point from Liverpool and won over Chelsea at home, and that proves Tottenham being better this season as well

didn't watch the match, saw that it was delayed, and Valencia played at same time, but glad to see Tottenham up before the break till February

I can't find any space to disagree. It's really so depressing to watch us now. Doesn't seem to matter which team comes out, whether in the league or in cups, we're looking lost at sea.

VVD is... not even a shadow, it's like he's second-guessing himself and as a result, the entire back are jittery. Salah I know will eventually come good, maybe we get another final 10 games of season with him blasting on all fronts, but that's just me clutching at straws.

Midfield we've always needed to replace Hendo... Thiago probably to keep and Fabinho if he doesn't reset, needs some energy back. Naby lad, much as I want to give him a chance, he has to go. Bellingham's not coming, I don't think... so I have no idea who now.

Jota/Diaz, I can't wait for them to come back, their hunger's missing from this team.

Indeed, since Mane's departure from the club, Liverpool has struggled to generate the usual goalscoring chances and win-win situations And he couldn't achieve that. However, Liverpool is able to return to compete for titles in the coming seasons.

Today we have a match for the city against the wounded wolves; if the wolves continue to lose, they will fall further down the standings. The city is also threatened by United and Newcastle; if Pep fails to win today, the indicators will shift.

Mane was lucky for us I guess. I don't know if you noticed but we used to get lucky all the time. Last minutes goal or goal before few minutes ago was a regular thing for us. In sports skills does not always works, luck play a vital role too imo.

City had 3 - 0 win, Wolves were not a threat for them.

It is true that skill alone is not enough to score points. Players must also be lucky enough. And I don't think bad luck will last much longer on Liverpool's side
Yesterday we saw Haaland score 3 goals, of course luck was on his side, That is why it became important for Kane to score more than 1 goal tonight against Fulham, who made a good showing this season, and I expect both clubs to score. and I hope to get the correct result of this game to avoid more slipping there in the  pool Grin

Never saw myself thanking Nketiah... I was literally on my last chance saloon with bankroll and needed Arsenal to win. Jesus will want to remind people he was only a stand-in, though.

Call me facetious but... United collapse coming round after 2 huge exertions and only a point?

In a single season we managed to turn from one of the most exciting teams to watch to one of the most boring ones.
Today was unbearable, so many mistakes and a general lack of courage, tempo and flair.

Whoever we put in midfield doesn't do a job for us - we will have to revise that part of the team in the summer.

Really big win for Arsenal against Manchester United, Arsenal its showing a real strength and resilience this time. They comeback in the result and that its not an easy task.

I think Arsenal deserves the victory because they make more to achieve the win, Man utd only make counterattacks. Sadly for me i was put a draw in the pool, so not happy with that last goal.

But one thing really pissed me off its the additional time the referees gives, man.... only 3 minutes always? Before we have 3 subs and they gave 3 minutes, now are 5 subs + VAR and the stop for knock in the head and...... still 3 minutes?HuhHuh? Its a joke. And im not talking about this game its for all the matches.

All of what i said before without counting the ton of time the players do nowadays.

Arsenal took revenge by winning against the only team that they had lost during this season and this clearly boost their confidence a lot.I have said several other times that despite we thought in the beginning that Arsenal always plays well in the early games it is not just like the last years, this time they kept scoring quite some goals in their games and so far in all these 19 games,1 draw and 1 lost game and 17 wins which is clearly the best record of the league and most likely they will be Champions this season.

In the pool yesterday I did really bad with just 3 points but in today games I am happy with a correct score from Man.City and one close result for Arsenal.
