^  I haven't really been watching a lot of the EPL but I kinda expected Newcastle to do a bit better than they did during seasons prior as they're being backed financially by Saudi oilers now.  And they're manager is decent.  I've always rooted for Eddie Howe and have said that he's gonna be a manager of a bigger club in the coming years.  I guess this is his big break.

Congrats to Darbit and LFC_Bitcoin on the yellow cap,we are sharing this prize so pretty happy with the week. Didnt expect in the end three yellow caps but thats how intresting it was. Also too bad Bournemouth didnt score at least one goal they were playing so good in the end of the match but not much chances for them.

It was a terrible week for me in the pool, I was able to rack up just 4 points in total and I dropped by 5 places all the way to 15th, Kudos to all of you guys sharing the yellow cap because It wasn't an easy week and and 10.5 points as the joint best also shows how tough the week was on an average.

I was also rooting for Bournemouth to score a goal, I had BTTS on a bet slip and I also went with 2-1 in the pool, so it could have been a win-win situation had that happened.

It was a terrible week for most. I was one point away from my second wooden spoon of the season. Lots of upsets. Nobody predicted Liverpool losing and only one person backed the Arsenal/Southampton draw. Only one person backed Newcastle to beat Spurs as well. The chubby chipmunk-faced cunt that is Casemiro caused me from losing the exact score in injury time. Anyone who got more than a handful of points from this week did very well.

...  Checks the results...

Wasn't me.  Lol.  But decent.  Still not enough to break top 20 tho.  I just need a couple of lucky weeks.

Lol, I'm a Chelsea fan, and Casemiro's last-minute goal gave me a 1-1 correct score. I wasn't sure if I should be happy or not, because it could have been a lot worse without those three points for me in the pool, but I was disappointed after Tottenham and Arsenal both dropped points the next day.

Newcastle United is currently in the top 4. I haven't been following their games this season. Looks like another jackpot team this season, so keep an eye on the odds.

I mean I'm liking what I see and yeah I think Arsenal is a title contender but sometimes we should hold our horses for a bit.

agree on this, also like Arsenal in the title chase, but I do not think that they will have enough power to hold there
it would be great to see them within top4 and CL next season, everything more than that will be a great success, not to comment on eventual title, that would be big surprise IMO, one of the biggest since Leicester took title

City is going to be champion in the end, and IMHO, they will secure title long before end

Emery back in England, taking over from Gerrard at Villa, didn't think they could pull off something like that so quick. From Villareal to Villa, IIRC he was interested in the Newcastle job before deciding to stay but them yellows have not been getting good results this season.

Remember when Rodgers was favourite to get the sack first, and 4 have already been fired this season before him? Marsch look like next... and while I agree Gerrard wasn't doing his job, clubs without deep pockets have not learnt their lesson about giving managers time (look at Arteta). Where are Bournemouth and Wolves now after firing Scott and Bruno? No better results, player acquisitions that may need to be offloaded at losses, and sacking compensation on their books.

I like Emery back at the EPL and sorry to say, he's a better manager than Gerrard atm.  Can't speak for the future cos who knows.  Gerrard could still improve.  On the other hand, it could also be the same for Arteta but on the opposite side.  How can we really know if he's good?  What if Arsenal finishes 7th in the league next year?  I mean I'm liking what I see and yeah I think Arsenal is a title contender but sometimes we should hold our horses for a bit.

The EPL is massive, from a European competition playing side to a relegation battling side (Aston Villa). I've had enough. Emery is one of my favorite coaches; he's tactically gifted and plays a direct attacking style that I enjoy, and the Villa is a big one for him. I hope he doesn't bench Watkins because he's the only reason I watch Villa games. Wish him well.

I stated earlier in this thread that Leicester should hold Rodgers at all costs. There is a difference between when a team does not get good results and when a team is bad. Leicester plays good football and was nowhere below average this season, but luck was not on their side and the unexpected departure of Fofana left them with limited options at the back. I'm glad they continue to believe in him.

I know you support Chelsea so I can't get you to hope Arsenal overcome that issue but for you, I hope Kante and James get back to fitness. I don't care about clubs when good players I like are injured, and to miss world cup Sad
What a pity Kante is now an injury-prone player in his early 30s; with his work rate, you'd think he'd be up until 40, but things aren't looking good for him; I'm sorry for him, but we need to find a good replacement and upload him to Manchester United next summer. I'm hoping James doesn't miss his first World Cup because he's not looking good and England and Chelsea need him.

Arsenal dropping points shouldn't make anyone feel upset but the fact they do shows they are finally in the right mentality, I would be really happy to see them win though

Fatigue is setting in as expected for the European competition playing teams due to the tight schedule; if they survive this and finish as league topper before the world up, I will begin to see them as league contenders; as far as I know, they are only pretenders who had a better preseason than any other top 5 euro side and that's what has been pushing them all along.

Can they overcome their end of season syndrome?

Something that some squads really handled well last season, but now they are paying for it with so many injuries (talking about Liverpool actually) and tiredness.

But yes Arsenal are now having to get used to playing loads of games again, and at high tempo, they were definitely tired in last few games winning 1-0 3 times and finally now 1-1. Fighting to keep one goal lead is extremely tiring especially mentally.

I know you support Chelsea so I can't get you to hope Arsenal overcome that issue but for you, I hope Kante and James get back to fitness. I don't care about clubs when good players I like are injured, and to miss world cup Sad

Congrats to all the three yellow cap winners,I believe this is the first time with three winners from the pool, this of course happens when many users are participating which is a good thing for us.

Personally I got an exact score in the yesterday game and that made this round not as bad as I had only 1.5 points before these 3 points and with 4.5 points out of 10.5 the maximum of a round I don't consider this as bad. Can't wait for the weekend round as this year the pool is looking much more beautiful in a great competition with a lot of members near each other in points.

Just saw this too, really good showing from all you guys, so well done. I think in a week, feels pretty common to see multiple yellow caps (or maybe I'm just playing so many pools it feels like that!) but still an achievement in a tough week.

Thanks man(darbit here) and also congrats to you and LFC_Bitcoin Tongue.

Well i think i can say....

I dont remember, but i think its my first yellow cap in Premier League. A shared one but a yellow cap.

The most pasionated game for me was the Chelsea Man - utd, i have the tie in my hands and comes the penalty, and when i think i have no room the Man utd makes the 1-1 and give me the exact score, i think i shout the goal more than Casemiro.

I think we are so much people waiting for West Ham to win lets hope they made it.

Another strange round with really low points for the people in the pool, and in this kind of rounds its really hard to collect the slam point.

Villa now its an interrogant open, we have to wait to see who its the new mister and see if they can be in good shape. Some newspapers of my country says Pochettino can be the new manager. I think Aston Villa have a really good squad so they can improve a lot.

Another team who keeps surprising me its Newcastle, they are really fighting at top positions, and playing really well against big teams.

Win against Spurs, an tie against Manutd. Lose in the last ball against Liverpool. Really impressive.

After such a bad week so far I am confident that West Ham is going to win tonight against Bournemouth and I think we have had enough of surprises during this weekend,so let's hopefully start the week with the right foot,so we can continue our betting even in Champions in midweek and again in weekend in Premier League,I have a belief that if we start the week with good results so it ends and the opposite,if we start with bad results so it ends so Monday in my thinking is extremely important.

For me this is one of the best weeks so far in the pool. I am second in the weekly ranking and just 0.5 points away from first place and if West Ham wins 2-1 i will get the yellow cap, so really hoping that West Ham wins today. Also i have advanced in overall ranking from 8th place to 2nd place and now im just two points away from the first place so i think this is one of the best positions for me in the last 3 years of the pool. If 2-1 happens today i will be in first place and that would just be perfect.

Manchester United and Totteham celebrate a draw against us this season, shows how far both teams have fallen.

Definitely shows how far a lot of teams have dropped, for sure, except City which keeps on rising. Haaland already halfway through making new EPL record for goals in 1 season and only 11 games played, that's nothing short of amazing.

The only thing stopping Halaand from scoring 40 goals is an injury; he already has 17 goals with 27 games remaining. Lol. In five years, he will break Shearer's EPL goal record. The fucking robot.

Was it a great game if anybody managed to watch??

Yes, I watched it, and I must say that we were awful in the first half; our midfield was outnumbered for 45 minutes, and yet United failed to score; that was a good chance to end the game, but their attack was just as ineffective as our midfield. Overall, they outperformed us and deserved the point.

Fuck me, been backing Villa throughout more or less and this day I decide to back Brentford since they sacked gerrard and all and then this happens LOL
I guess that can only mean that Gerrard lost the dressing room and players weren't able to give their best. They really looked awful in last few games and then this rhapsody today.
Two changes from Gerrad's last game against Fulham, and more freedom for Danny Ins because he was played as a target man up front with one ST backing him up, and he scored twice. Maybe it was more of a formation thing than a dressing room thing, or maybe Brenford was just not good today. Let's see how things go after three games.

I am watching Arsenal game though and hoping they can score a late winner. Nobody except for City fans wants City to win the league and Arsenal seems like the only club able to give them a proper title challenge run. It is very important to pick all three points in games like this. Seems to me Arsenal lost a bit of steam, they should have dropped points in the last game and today they aren't looking the best either.
I'd rather see Manchester City win the league again than see Arsenal lift the trophy. Manchester City does not have a fan in my area, so it won't bother me much. Lol.

Strange week this one,I got exactly 0 points from the games of today and even by doing so and falling down several positions the points gap to the leader is just 11.5 now when before it was 10 so I guess everybody did poorly.I just checked the standings of the week so far and the first place is with only 8.5 points with only one game left tomorrow meaning 11.5 as a maximum and this is one of the weeks with the lowest amount of point,if we don't reach 11.5 points for 10 games played then this is a really strange round and I doubt I have seen it before in the pool if we stay below 10 points per 10 games.

Well, Aston Villa unlocked

Btw, Newcastle and Fulham are above Liverpool in the league table,, just wanted to point that out 🤭 lol

I guess that can only mean that Gerrard lost the dressing room and players weren't able to give their best.
It was hard for them to give their best when the manager kept improvising week in and week out. Today was probably the first time we've seen Buendia, Dendoncker and Bailey playing in their natural positions and boy did they make a difference. Seems like all they needed was a competent coach (caretaker manage in this case) and some team cohesion
