Damn, I forgot to put my predictions in for Friday and Saturday once again. That happened twice already in 8 rounds.
~

That is why I make my predictions in advance (for all three pools), but then I don’t even remember what results I predicted and watching the games I don’t know what result I need to worry about  Grin

By the way, does anyone have any ideas about the Liverpool vs City game on Sunday? I don’t want to bet on City because it will be a complete disaster for Liverpool, but I don’t really believe in a positive outcome either.

Regarding Liverpool - it is not just Trent. He's horrible, don't get me wrong - but Dijk has been horrible since the start and Matip was worse than Trent yesterday. Trent is an easy target because he was never good at defending, but it's a team effort.

We lack the pressing game, and our midfielders are used to an extra man there - we started with 2 + Jota again yesterday. It is all to accomodate Nunez, who I hope won't prove to be the new Andy Carroll. He's on a good way though.

I am not really a supporter of what Southgate is doing for national team but not calling TAA has been a good decision. James is miles in front when defending and just maybe a little weaker when attacking.

When your team is having problems with creativity is when you need to rework your formation and talent. That makes TAA and Maddison a painful exclusion (he sees their team's failures rather than their individual worth, this is what I don't get), which I didn't agree with. He already rebuilt the team to be strong defensively, that's great, now take some risks at least near the end of the game and try to score.

I totally agree it's about formation and style, but I wouldn't blame Klopp either for Trent's case, I blame myopic viewpoints. We won titles and cups, and played some of the best football in my memory, and Trent had a huge part in that -- it's just a different style, which works when your CBs are awesome, which England squad generally I would say has no issue.

I honestly cannot understand why TAA is getting all the bad press when he's improved in what he's been tasked to do, and generally maintained same defensive frailties he's always had. I guess because he's English and you don't get juice picking on VVD?

He needs to be made a winger or played as RWB in 5 man defense.

He's definitely been discussed to move into that or midfield yeah, given his creativity and accuracy with crossing. Everything about his training actually fits into that mould.

In any case, yeah, give him a rest, let Milner play there even... as long as we continue to get creativity from the middle, because without Trent, Thiago and Elliott will really need to provide better.

Did anyone else notice that almost all games except Bournemouth come as expected in the pool and many people including me moved up several places. This shows that the pool is really doing well and that we should never lose hope because a single round like this one while competing with more than 60 persons can move you from 15-25 positions up in a single round.

The good news is we will have a lot of Premier League action during October, including many midweek games so now is the time to hopefully do better in the pool and remember that there are much more than 10 winning positions this time.

- TAA had a problem with Martinelli, and the media thinks he is terrible. They're wrong. Yes, his mistakes have directly lead to 2 goals already this season, but his aggression up the pitch: chances created, stealing possessions, and even shots on goal are at his highest in any season so far.
TAA has become serious problem for Liverpool, he was never much of a defender but his attacking returns more than made up for it. Also as you pointed out when other players around him are in top form they cover most of those mistakes and they aren't that obvious then. This season whole defense plays on a lower level and TAA mistakes are what pushes them over the limit. Every manager knows that and it will just get harder and harder for TAA.

Too make things even worse it seems clear to me that he isn't even interested in defending. At this point Klopp has to have a serious conversation with him and probably adjust the formation in a way that somebody else covers RB position when defending and play TAA as a winger.

I am not really a supporter of what Southgate is doing for national team but not calling TAA has been a good decision. James is miles in front when defending and just maybe a little weaker when attacking.

I'm really finding it hard to ever place any blame whatsoever on TAA because he was used for his attacking abilities, the whole team is shit and TAA need to be absloved of every form of frailty, he's probably the third best attacking player after Diaz and Firmino, for a team that's got the almighty Salah who's beem nothing but an absolute burden to the team, the fact that he's playing on the same flank as TAA makes TAA even more vulnerable imo. I'd agree TAA is not at his best, but we must all agree that so is Salah, if yes then what's the absolute point of having both players on the field at the same time ? because that means in attack you have only one player TAA on that flank, and in defense you have next to zero player on that flank, I'd rather Klopp deviate a lot from the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 for the time being, he'd be better with off with a 3-4-3, 3-5-2 where there is at least 5 players (4 minus TAA) when defending and an extra body in attack... The typical 4-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 is becoming more obselete except if you've got wing backs with high defensive awareness and your wide attacking players aren't much of a defensive burden like Salah and TAA having been.
That is my point as well, I am not blaming him, this is more on Klopp then on him. TAA has always been poor in defense but his team managed to hide that. Now they can't and it is on Klopp to find the way to use his attacking prowess without sacrificing the defense as much. When I say poor I mean it only compared to the very best full backs in the world and he is the best full back if you take into account just the attacking part of the game.

He needs to be made a winger or played as RWB in 5 man defense.

Congratulations to Arsenal fans for finally proving they can beat a top side, with Spurs and now Liverpool conquered, the only things left is to beat Chelsea and City to prove you are title contenders.

Amazing match, and I even managed to watch until 2-2, I thought it was going to be even more!

Don't worry LFC_Bitcoin and buwaytress and all Liverpool supporters. It was time to come down for a little while, just relax and build. I know how it feels like Smiley

ETA: For the second week in a row Arsenal give me an exact prediction!  That was an amazing match!

For me it was a close one as I had it 2-1 because in all honesty I was not expecting that much a win of Arsenal tonight but they showed that they are a serious title contender this year as they won with goals against Liverpool. This week has been one of the best for people who use to bet regularly on the Premier League as all the games ended like predicted,at least the strong teams all won their games.

It remains Manchester United to have a win in the game that starts after a couple of minutes but against Everton it surely will be difficult considering the recent results of Everton which I consider somewhat good.

Turning out as I suspected, high scoring and even though LFC is winning the possession game, Arsenal seems more dominant when they have the ball.  That was a brilliant start for Martinelli, good to see him active in the scoring.  Jesus gave me quite a scare seeing him motionless on the ground.  When I saw the replay I was afraid he may have torn his ACL, the way he came down on his right foot to avoid stepping on Odegaard was pretty awkward.

So much football excitement today, including the American kind.  That was an amazing game held at Tottenham's stadium.

Arsenal play at home + the main team got a rest as Arsenal played the game against Boude-Glimt with the reserves. And this is not remembering the position of the teams in the standings. It seems to me that Arsenal is the favorite in this match, and if we talk about value bets, it is Arsenal that is underestimated. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that today there will be either a productive draw or a convincing victory for Arsenal, like 3-1.
It's a bit concerning that they've been conceding goals at home though and maybe that's why bookies underestimate Arsenal even though they're looking great so far, and I also agree with Harkorede, Liverpool could switch up anytime.

Anyway, I just hope Arsenal gets the win at the end so i'd get my second slam point for this round.  Grin

They already started with an early goal against Liverpool which shows just how concentrated and prepared for the title fight they are, they don't care who is the opponent, they start playing their football like it is their last game and the points are coming their way,I know it is early but as they say the sun can be spotted since early in the morning.

I believe to get a couple of slam points as so far I have found the 1 x 2 correctly in every game except the Bournemouth one so I am expecting at least a slam point, they help really big if we are persistent enough in getting enough of them during the season.

Right, I made up my mind. Going big on Liverpool at almost 3/1. Harkorede's right, it's value. When was the last time a 90% full Liverpool squad were the slight underdogs against Arsenal?

In this type of game of course the standings are completely irrelevant as we both know how good these teams are in terms of Premier League football.Liverpool comes here with a win against Rangers while Arsenal against a weaker team like Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Both teams should be playing for the win tonight and that can end as a draw but one thing I think it is going to be sure and that will also be my bet for this game,is both teams to score yes because Liverpool attacks work well the same as Arsenal but both teams lacks in defending.

^  I got 2 - 2.  It could be the kind of match when Liverpool plays to the same intensity of their opponent.  They might be in a rut but I don't think they're mentally done.  They know they got a good squad and they def know they got a good manager in Klopp.  I like the BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo here.

And Mtrovic isn't playing vs West Ham and he isn't on the bench either.  Just made a small bet for West Ham clean sheet at 2.30 for fun.  Grin

Four games today:

Crystal Palace vs Leeds
West Ham vs Fulham
Arsenal vs LFC
Everton vs Man Utd

I must admit I am not looking forward to watch my teams game Grin
I will of course watch it though, at least I might get some points in our pool for that game. I went for 3-1 Gunners, I just don’t see how we get out of there with any points.

I only scored 5.5 points yesterday, hope to do better today.

Definitely thinking with my heart but hear me out.

Here's why I think it's amazing value:
- Thiago and Hendo are back in the team, alongside Fabinho. Not their sharpest or fittest as we could see in the last game, but they'll get there
- TAA had a problem with Martinelli, and the media thinks he is terrible. They're wrong. Yes, his mistakes have directly lead to 2 goals already this season, but his aggression up the pitch: chances created, stealing possessions, and even shots on goal are at his highest in any season so far.
- Interestingly, the team is in 10 games so far allowed the least opponent possession in our final third. This actually means that Klopp's high line, forward pressing is performing at its very best.
- The problem? In seasons past, we have Fabinho sweeping up whatever comes through, VVD closing off whatever trickles past, and Alisson the final line on 1v1. We haven't had a fully fit Fabinho yet, VVD is in the worst form of his career. That is the problem media is shifting on to TAA.

So between VVD, Fabinho, Salah, Jota, Thiago, Nunez -- there are at least 6 big game players yet to get into gear. Surely this match, if even 2 of them find a way to switch on, we benefit. VVD and Fabinho? We plug the leak. Jota/Thiago? We finally get good service in addition to Trent. Nunez/Salah? We smack in goals.

with all said, I am waiting for Sunday, 8:00 PM (is that a new time schedule for EPL?), maybe we can beat United, best defense in the league so far, just to stretch attack a bit

I've got a bit of money against United and I'll probably add a bit more to it if other earlier results go my way; that's big coming from a Liverpool supporter... unless you believe I'm a jinx heh heh.

Betting-wise, I'll fully skip the Arsenal - Liverpool game. Gun to my head, I'd pick Arsenal - they are playing at home and are an inform team at the moment.

However - LFC found it relatively easy to deal with Arsenal in recent years. That was due to the fact that our pressing actually worked and we had a lot of easy chances due to their inability to play through us from the back. Our pressing game is not on a high level this year - and if we let them play, we'll be in all sorts of problems.

For the first time in many years, I'm actually dreading the game vs Arsenal.

The game is a two-headed sworded, logically you'd give Arsenal every chance to make something of the game, but with Liverpool you really just can't write them off, I'm definitelly sitting this one out too, It could 1-1 be and it could be a riot for all we know, but the odds for Liverpool looks really tempting and of huge value, if I'm to chase value.

I want these games usually, and the one vs City, because it's the perfect way to pick yourself up and cut the gap. But yeah, even if we win these 2 games, I'm actually more wary of the others.

shit, am I the only one thinking that neighbors will not give up easily?
Arsenal won over Tottenham, but they are yet to prove that they are capable to win over top EPL teams, United beat them for god sake, and done that with ease

BTTS for me here as well. I wouldn't worry about Liverpool not scoring, their attack works fine, defense is the problematic part. Just the way I like it when I play BTTS, I will go even further and probably play "both to score in both halves" if I find that market anywhere. Stake used to have them and you can build it yourself on Sportsbet. Should pay out about 9 for this game.
~

Only thing is 1.5 is the lowest BTTS I've seen in a long time, but yeah, both teams scoring (doesn't matter how I guess) responsible for that.
~

In the game Bayern Munich - Barcelona BTTS No was quoted more than 3. Now it's only 2.56, and apparently this is a bet with an edge, but very small. I would bet if the odds were closer to 2.8 or higher. Liverpool are still weak in attack (rule out the Bournemouth game and see) and Arsenal are good in defense so I'm not sure if Liverpool can score at least one goal tomorrow.
