Anyone got Leeds today? I would have been more confident thinking Tuchel wouldn't be by their side but apparently the bans didn't happen? Still took the home team over 6/1... and of course Newcastle over 8/1 since I can't help myself!

On the contrary, I added a Chelsea win to my multibet  Grin It's good that this is the first outcome in a series of events and now I have time to both re-enter and add other outcomes to compensate for the odds that Chelsea burned.
I am amazed at the stubbornness of the bookmakers: BTTS keeps around 1.37, and the quotes for the third goal are as follows:

Leeds United 4.15      None 4.40      Chelsea FC 1.57

Before the second goal, it was the same, although Leeds attacked more dangerously.

Chelsea screwing up big time as they are ending the first half with 2 goals disadvantage to Leeds which has been not one of the impressive team starters of the season. It looks like this strange weekend with those strange results of yesterday is carrying on also today on Sunday games as not only Chelsea is losing but also West Ham which is another surprise result to today games.I hope both Chelsea and West Ham turn things around but for Chelsea looks a bit more difficult as they need to score 3 goals and concede none in order to turn things around and win.

I highly doubt a surprise result in the Manchester City game as most probably Newcastle does not have the power to hold them or to get a point from them, although in Premier League anything can happen.

Totally different players Casimero and De Jong.  It just shows that Man United doesn't really have a solid plan when they're making these acquisitions.  It's like there's no short term plan, medium term plan and long term plan.  Can't sign De Jong?  No problem, let's acquire Casimero...  Wtf?  It makes no sense cos they're two very different players.  What was the real plan to begin with?

Oh and he's old.  Could be like the Varane acquistion who turned out to be not that good for United as he's riddled with injuries.
I don't think they are old. Varane is 29 which is probably just about prime time for defender since they benefit a lot from experience and don't loose as much if they are a bit slower than when they were 22, it is more than compensated with better positioning and reading of the game. Casemiro is 30 which is getting towards old but still in modern football players last longer so I am thinking 4 seasons of top football should not be a problem, probably even more.

So short/medium term plan should be covered and long plan is maybe a bit too much for them to handle at the moment. And I can't blame when they bring defensive midfielder after conceding 4 goals against Brentford  Grin

Well...  Yeah you're right.  Casimero not that old but still too old to be rated at 60m GBP and 10m add ons imho.  :/  And I'm sure Man United paid a hefty sum for Varane too, yet he's mostly injured.  I said this at another thread...  If United does acquire and sign Casimero, that's prolly a red flag.  Real Madrid could have a very good reason why they're unloading him.  It feels like another Schweinsteiger.  Dunno...

Arsenal plays really good and Jesus looks like best striker in the world right now. He managed to win almost all the duels today and was very dangerous throughout the whole game even though he did not score. Arsenal looks like legit title challenger, but I am still a bit skeptical if they have what it takes to battle it out with City or Liverpool. Have a feeling they will play good football but fall short in head to head games with the best teams in the league.

Yeah, my thoughts too. They've always managed to play attractive football even when not at their best -- I remember Auba/Lacazette when on song also looked irresistible. Problems they haven't proven to be fixed are two-fold: mentality and discipline (my memory seems to say they keep getting needless red cards, and this was even after Luiz left). To be fair, I haven't watched them play this season yet so shouldn't make quick judgments but need to see them play a Big Four (Six?) first before an assessment.

My pick for the Arsenal match was a 2-0 win for Arsenal. They did even better than that. I think it was clear that they wouldn't have much difficulty in beating Bournemouth. Arsenal are playing much more differently than the previous season. Arteta is giving what the fans want for now. They can even fight for the Premier League title if they maintain the high effort throughout the season.

What a wierd round, all this matches that started at 16:00 went the otherway in second half. I had 7.5 points and the end barely received 1.5 points. No body expected that Leicester would lose this match especially after leading 1-0. Fulham barely won in the end for some points at least
Watched that match and Leicester was OK until they got the lead, after that they just stopped playing and it was very obvious it is just a matter of time before Southampton scores.

They have lacked consistency with "small" teams of the Premier League and this was their weak spot.If they can manage to win all the games against weaker and medium opponent it will skyrocket their morale and they will fight really hard even against the bigger teams of the league.I see their games and the ease in which they have scored goals against Leicester last week makes me think that they are doing really fine until now, they need the consistency and even if they lose against the bigger teams they will end up near the title runners in the worst case.

I got 3 close results in total together with Crystal Palace and Arsenal, not the best week for me but I am happy that found 50% of the games correctly.

it was a tough week to guess, I had also lousy scores, and only Tottenham and Arsenal guessed right, but not exact scores
Everton put me down, somehow did not expected Fulham to shine either, Leicester brought most people down, and I expected more from Villa (this one is maybe shittiest, since it was rather expected from Palace to win over Villa, especially looking at Villa score in first round)

nevertheless, it is all just beginning, it would be better to start in top rows, but until tenth round, it is all ok

It's been a horrible round for me so far.  I got close points for the Tottenham/Wolverhampton match, and goose eggs for the rest of the early matches.  If the Gunners and Bournemouth hold on to the current score, I'll exact points and win my bet on the match.  Fingers crossed.

It was the same for me.I first started with a close result for the Tottenham game and was expecting Everton first win but judging from their performance in their three games most likely they will fight for relegation together with Manchester United this season.I got 3 close results in total together with Crystal Palace and Arsenal, not the best week for me but I am happy that found 50% of the games correctly.

It is going to be a really very exciting thing to watch Casemiro wearing Manchester United jersey. Manchester United are prepared to sacrifice this much high amount of money for a 30-year-old player. And this shows how desperate the team are now. If it weren't for the disastrous results in the last two league matches, Erik ten Hag wouldn't want a player who has a profile like Casemiro. Because during the whole summer Manchester United's name was being called with Frenkie de Jong.

I think Manchester United got a much better signing in Casemiro then they would with De Jong. Casemiro has that experience and played for Real Madrid for such a long time and now he will play again with Ronaldo and Varane so this will be a good connection . Man Utd got an amazing transfer deal

@KTChampions indeed, if I weren't Liverpool-biased, I'd be putting United down all day any day for odds above 5/1 in the EPL. God knows I suckered myself into Manchester derbies (though I do remember a sweet 10/1 inspired win). They have never been this bad though... in my lifetime anyway. Might actually put a dollar on them for relegation if they lose heh.

@toma Yeah I'm doing a BB for sure!

i also expect a liverpool win and i would go a bit further and just go for the -1 handicap @2. worst case scenario it's 2-1 liverpool and you get your money back. But @2 odds without boost is very attractive

Ronaldo, Varane, Casemiro now...
friendly reminder that among those three players there are 6 champions leagues, several league titles, a few nations league, 1 euro cup, 1 world cup, copa america, tons experience in the biggest stages of football, etc, etc... oh and their captain will be Harry Maguire 🤭

The thing that is really wierd for me after so many mistake by Maguire he still plays while a guy who won the champions league so many time is on the bench. Varane must play infront of Maguire any day of the night. I dont know if Maguire has in his contract that he has to play but this is really starting to be funny.

Liverpool over 1.6 to beat United, value odds for me, so I placed something a bit silly, might even top it up on Monday itself.

Surely they can't NOT win for 3 games in a row, but surely United would say they can't lose 3 opening games in a row... something has to give. Football drama is just so wonderful isn't it guys?

Ronaldo, Sancho, Varane, Casemiro now... if that doesn't strike fear into our hearts, what will? Like Welsh says, he's brought in to stabilise the ship, much in sync with every buy thus far. But the ship's missing a rudder, don't matter how many great sailors you put on it.

Long live Glazers =D

In my opinion, in this match, the value bet is a bet on United. By the way, the arrival of Casemiro did not affect the odds in any way, which means that the value has grown. It's funny that this game will be the last one in the tour, and perhaps its outcome will depend on who gets the yellow cap. If the weekend goes well for me then I will bet on United - let it all be at stake - the pool, the money and the path of the clubs!  Cheesy

Shows a similar pattern to what they've gone for in the past. Even if Casemiro turns out good, which to be honest he probably will, he's still surrounded in the players they've currently got, which are under performing, and clearly don't want to be there.

By the time United ship out that dead wood, Casemiro their big signing would be at the tail end of his career. So, it's a lot of money for a player which will likely stabilise the ship a little, but won't completely save it from sinking.
