WTF??

https://twitter.com/OptaJoe/status/1495065525025714177

huh, outta nowhere Newcastle are 4 points above the relegation zone,, that takeover is paying dividends, eh?
I believe it was even more a manager change than board take over. They did add some extra quality but it is not anything game changing for me yet. I heard Howe talking about installing a belief in Newcastle squad that they can play and win every game and he managed to do it. Newcastle actually looks to play football now and they believe they can score and win every game.
you're right, could be a little bit of both, though (good coach and good winter transfers) because every time i read about a good result from Newcastle, Trippier and Dan Burn get a lot of praise for their performances

Shout out to Spurs to keeping the league more interesting. Did not watch the match today but City looked unteachable in the last few games so this must have been some performance by Kane and Spurs.

I didn't expect Tottenham to behave like this today and a brilliant Harry Kane to give them the victory which in turn totally changed things in the Premier League as if Liverpool wins the game that they have less than City there is a direct clash between the teams and it does not matter at which stadium is played, those three points can decide the winners of the Premier League.Lately Manchester City has been showing signs of weakness and they have lost or draw some games that were not expected from them bringing the gap between them and Liverpool where it is now.

I think everyone had City to win
the only mad lad who went for a Spurs win was @leea-1334 👀

Can we hope for the season tittle?
I hope so... As a neutral i would love to see another thrilling title race like the one from 2018/19

Count me in on the Spurs train haha. I of course had City to win in the pool, since I used my head there. But I had 2 bets on Spurs -- 1 much earlier before their shit form, and one for over 12/1 so I'm celebrating.
Fuck City win on the pool. I think everyone had City to win there but this match was a one of the never forgotten match. This was a match for Harry Kane! Ball to him means goal, unfortunately one of them was offside.

When City had there 2nd equalizer (the penalty decision took my breath away LOL) I thought that's it, there are no way to prevent Tottenham to win this match even I had doubt if they can prevent the lose coz City were all attacking mood. But then Kane again! The head back of the City net and OMG! It was a match to remember for long time.

This is indeed good for Liverpool. We can now hope for the season title. In April we are going to face City and we are now one match behind means if we win and keep winning then the 6 points difference will be no more. Can we hope for the season tittle?

6 points gap, 1 game in hand. It all started so badly too with the own goal, but tonight's points dropped was courtesy more of Son than of Kane, I'd say. Kane's just getting back to his crazy standards from a really poor patch of form, so it looks like he's on fire tonight. He ought to have had a hattrick though!

Man, the penalty almost made me weep haha.

We still need to do our job from now till April, though, that goal difference is still there! But game on REDS!

Hang in there Tottenham!!! 1 - 2 ahead. Another goal disallowed or it could be 1 - 3 for Tottenham. Kane on fire so does Tottenham. Who else is with me today praying for Tottenham to win?

PS: City are pushing hard and taking all juice off from Tottenham right now.

Liverpool losing today would be the biggest gift to the bookies this week, almost all my games and betslip for this week has got Liverpool in them, damn!

EDIT: What a goal from Mane, that's the best way to get on level terms, now let's go for the win, 25 minutes still to go.

EDIT: There you go Mo Salah!!!

Well Liverpool won in the end as expected. But didnt expect them to lose the first half at all i had 4:0 correct result but in the end just 3:1 sadly.

Also had some really good predictions but currently 2nd for this weekend so im happy for now. Expecting now Man City to win 2:1 so i can get those 3 points that i badly need to get back into top 10

Haha too early for a full stop 😉
They took only 2 minutes 20 seconds to turn the match in their favor. That was a extraordinary acrobatic bicycle kick by Mane and Salah was quick on the 2nd one. What do you think about the third goal? Diaz ran away from three defender and scored!

I am lucky that Brentford scored at the last minute to get me a 3 point in Arsenal vs Brentford match. I hope the table will look a bit better for me now.

That goal gave you the three points but it removed them from me  Tongue.Anyway I am really surprised with win of Burnley at Brighton,I never thought Burnley to win let alone to win with 3 goals difference,Brighton these last couple of games played the worst matches during this whole Premiership.Only three close results for me Arsenal,Chelsea and Liverpool which now that I think shows that all the favorites so far which is a rare thing to happen in the Premier League.Manchester City losing so far but I think there is enough time for them to turn things around.

Haha 3-1 was for me too Pams but hilarious is the bastard of the week so far, great progress up the charts and one of the few to call a draw on Hammers game today, and a really poor start for me as my first acca is already down haha.
There is another one who is doing well from last few rounds. It's DarkStar_. Like last week he started with another correct pick in this round too. Yeah I was too confident to a West Ham win.

Anyway, ready to rock and roll. I am all set to watch Liverpool vs Norwich. We need another win tonight. Do you think Tottenham has a chance tonight? We need City to slow down LOL. They seems unstoppable!

it is a defined reward as 40 year salary? because in my country, there is a state lottery (pick seven numbers from 39), but rewards are dependent on participant numbers (as 50% of all money that entered the round), and it is going to next round, if there is no seven number hit in the round

basically, it is a good reward, but far from 40 year salary, and I do not engage in it

back to topic, is there anyone thinking that Newcastle is going to win now?

No, only in marketing it's used as a "dream salary". It's only for the Jackpot prize (or some threshold amount I can't remember). Min of 1 million euros and I've seen it go up to 11 (like all lotteries it snowballs until someone wins the pot). That entire amount, tax free, is divided into monthly instalments over 40 years. That prevents people from dying of a heart attack in some wild coke-fuelled orgy I guess and is what I would definitely prefer anyway to ensure I have a comfortable income rather than splash out.

I used to have a bad habit I've curtailed. I now put half of the savings from that into lotteries. It supposedly supports some charities too so I tell myself at least I'm putting half of my bad-habit cash into hopefully-something-good.

3 - 1 for West Ham for me. Is it going to happen? Doesn't matter. My eyes are on the Liverpool match. We should not have hard time against Norwich.

They might have a good chance if they can prevent West Ham from set pieces. They have done well so far by the way.

I do put beer cash on the state lottery too. Arguably much more unlikely to hit but if I do, it WOULD be life-changing simply because winnings are enforced to be paid out monthly as a salary for 40 years. Good luck, I'd love to hear about one of you (or me) hitting something crazy here.

First game in a few hours, will miss it but tonight's the one I will want to watch without distraction. Liverpool win their game in hand is non-negotiable. I will offer a prayer to Conte so he imbues his squad with the same magic that let them win the last time around.

Yeah, I have a habit of doing incredibly long odd accumulators which never come in. Think the most I've actually won is 1k. I seriously thought Aston Villa were going to make it look easy, not just win. Although, I didn't watch the game since Liverpool were on at the same time, I was somewhat following a live commentary, and I saw that there was multiple factors which slowed the game down. Plus, the goal they conceded was a deflection, so overall not a great day.

At the end of the day my view point is I gamble occasionally for fun, I don't do it expecting to win, I do it for incredibly long odds, which if they did come in could potentially be life changing. Seriously, I've had accumulators go up to the millions, obviously never came in, but I tried Tongue.

I usually stick a little amount 0.5-20p on a few of the both teams to score in both halves, 2 corners each team in each half and two cards each accumulators on skybet. You can get huge odds on them especially when you combine 2-4. I was literally one goal and one corner away from a ridiculous sum fairly recently. I've put a quid on it tonight on the Manchester Utd v Brighton match at 101 odds so that will net me 101 but I'm only expecting 1-1 in the game to be honest but it's worth the punt. Could see a fair few goals and it could get a bit spicy if things aren't going United's way.

I remember captain talking about this Sky special, would definitely think Liverpool a good candidate for that kind of hit!

I think the only time I ever did accas for over a million were back when Multimaster was still a weekly affair. Easily 8-digit fiat values for BTC winnings with only 0.1 mbtc staked, and this was when Bitcoin hadn't gone on this crazy rally!

Well, going into this I was coming off a rather large break from football predictions, mostly only putting the odd one down, but I've seen some decent success recently combined with UFC, so I'm starting to get the itch again, and I'd rather be in a season long competition, where that competition is every week, while only paying once at the start of the season, since that prevents any unnecessary spending just for a bit of fun.

Plus, I think it's better to compete among ourselves instead of playing a fantasy football league where they is millions competing against each other. Although, I'll be absolutely sure to set out a day of just predicting everything in the preseason, and then just revisit when I have time, every week or every other week whenever it's, and hopefully I'll be at least somewhat competitive.
I would have miserable results trying to do that. Preseason predictions can never be accurate enough for me, or maybe that is just because I don't watch friendly matches. I can see it working reasonably well if done on a month basis and starting from let's say week 3 when we already have some initial competition data to see how the clubs settled into new season.

Anyway, good luck man and I hope your plan works.

Suit yourself, but your approach would be terrible for me. I would feel like doing a chore instead of enjoining a game. But that is me and I am loosing at least 15 minutes every day making tickets so I always remember to do the Superbru as well. It feels as a chore even when I enter all the games for one week (I am playing 4 pools) so I now started entering only the results for current day.

Also, I know this season has been a disaster for me prediction wise i.e haven't even submitted anything, but I will definitely join the next season if you're still running it, and I'll definitely sit down before the season starts, and just predict the entire season, then I'll try, and edit them perodically when I remember. I think that's probably the best approach for me going forward, otherwise I'm just donating my Bitcoin Cheesy.

They're the best ones. A little money for a lot of fun (potentially at least - not that much fun when the first game lets you down haha). I don't mind throwing 5p at them as they can get quite exciting when the results are coming your way. Sometimes it's worse that with online bookies let you cash out. There's been a fair few times when they've offered me a cash out of £50-£100 from a crappy 5-10p bet or something but I've let it run because you could potential win thousands or even tens of thousands, but obviously you then go on to lose and wish you would have taken the cash when you can. With that being said, I'd rather lose out on that than thousands so that's why 9/10 I let them run.
The worst is when the first game on your accumulator loses, otherwise I pretty much always have fun watching the games with these types of accumulators, and it gets me watching teams I wouldn't have watched without putting a bet on. So, I've actually discovered a few teams which I've come to like, mainly because they've helped me with my accumulators from time to time.
