We just got fucked by City B team eh- we play the A team in less than 15 days hahahah. Liverpool fans its just a preseason dont get excited yet.  Grin

Friendlies mean absolutely cockshit. Carvalho playing up front, Salah in experimental, Slot better not be getting ideas into his bald head. We know very little about our actual capabilities.

I'll be happy if we get past 10 games with 6 dropped points, to be honest (a run that'll include United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton). Anything more and I'll probably get overexcited though...

The one business deal we flopped in the last 10 years was Pepe.

Incoming?

I'd argue Havertz is flopping, Jesus as well. Partey cost a lot without any real contribution.
If we're looking 10 years back, you had that one horror season in which you brought Auba, Lacazette and Mkhitaryan.

All clubs have bad deals, that's just how it goes. Arsenal recently has a lot of good ones, but it's also partially because they are spending a lot of money.

Clubs rarely do anything for players nowadays because players are normalising running down contracts to 12 months or less and having more power over their next destination, so clubs are becoming more ruthless to protect their investment as well.
Clubs were always about the profit and never did anything for players, reason why we have so many B-tier players from 10-15 years ago currently facing bankruptcy or having to find a completely new career path to stay afloat. The players only just woke up to that and the clubs are doubling down. There is always an unrealistic expectation of loyalty from employers when none is offered to them.

Why are Arsenal so awful at selling players? Never sold anyone over 50 million for hail Mary in years. Lol
You're focused on big sales, we are focused on balanced books, we haven't sold a top rated player in years, since Sanchez I think. There are easily 9 players in our squad currently who will be sold for that amount or higher.
You would not expect us to sell ESR for €50 million.

The one business deal we flopped in the last 10 years was Pepe.

I'm sure Osimhen never imagined Napoli would turn their back on him after all of his success and love from the top. Little did he know they were just after him signing an extension so he wouldn't leave them for a cheap price. Clubs rarely do anything for players nowadays because players are normalising running down contracts to 12 months or less and having more power over their next destination, so clubs are becoming more ruthless to protect their investment as well.

Luciano Spalletti leaving Napoli messed up Osimhen relationship with Napoli and he was one of the reasons he signed that contract too.

Messi is the ultimate lesson for anyone in football now, just like in life, your employer will never choose you over money at the the end of the day. They are not your family, they don't love you, you are a commodity that is worth money to them only as long as you continue to be +revenue.

Everything in life is same, wife, gf, family, only some friends are truely loyal but usually all are losers like us lol

But you right, I blame a lot of players for backstabbing their clubs, and clubs also followed the same pattern, its a big shame.

There is no longer loyalty in football; these players are only interested in their own pocket, and the moment they get more elsewhere, they leave you hanging. We deal with a lot of them at Chelsea, especially from the so-called Academy players. They believe the club owns them their life and carer, but it's actually the other way around. Whenever their services are no longer needed and the club wants to cash in on them to keep the club running smoothly, these players would start playing the victim card trying to divide the fans and cause needless drama with the club.

Look at the Leny Yoro deal for instance, dude was willing to run out his contract to move for free next season when there was a huge 53m on the table from another club, These are the situations that clubs do not want to find themselves in anymore; it has become sign a contract or get sold to the highest bidder, we have a club business to run and players to feed.

however, I hope he does not end up like Osimhen, who signed a similar contract and now no club is willing to pay the release clause inserted into his contract; his mistake was signing an extension when he had the option to leave.
That will depend on his position with the club. Osimhen fell out with Napoli, making it more difficult for both parties to seek a solution that benefits everyone. Sesko is not in the same situation yet.

Honestly 1-2 good seasons in Budesliga doesn't move me a bit, I've seen a lot over the years. Sancho, Timo.... Lol
We have also seen many players have 1-2 good seasons and come tear the EPL apart. Some many not perform as well cause the system they are in is not enabling enough.

He signed a 5- years deal my in bro - pay the release clause or wait till he gets to 28-29 years old.
Same way Halland signed an extension before leaving a year later. This sort of extensions are just about positioning the player and club better, not to keep them excessively longer at the club, I think it was the best decision for Sesko.
I will be very surprised if he gets up to 3 years on that contract, but we will not stick around waiting for that long.

He may not end up coming to Arsenal, but I see him in England few seasons from now.

Yes, there is a clause in his contract that allows him to leave for the right price next season; they wanted him to stay one more season to increase his release clause; however, I hope he does not end up like Osimhen, who signed a similar contract and now no club is willing to pay the release clause inserted into his contract; his mistake was signing an extension when he had the option to leave.

I heard you guys are keen on Sane, one of my favorite Wingers and could be a massive upgrade on the RW and a massive competition for Saka, I don't know the whole transfer package but everyone are looking for a way out for Bayern these days with the recent sack and replaced tactics going on, no stability and players just want to be somewhere stable with more motivation.
Will be great if possible. I also really don't want a backup but someone who will make him fight for his spot, knowing he can be benched at anytime.

I feel Sesko will still make his way to England in a couple of years.

Klopp side chick, oh man. Haha. He's busy doing Liverpool things still actually (as ambassador). So he's definitely not coaching anyone for at least a year. Trying not to miss him.

Man the juju is very strong- AFCON was the only pool we both won something. Klopp would need someone younger than him you know? To feel young again and to get back his lost energy.

Not like we're both getting anything from the bloody pool either it's the same script all season, we're both on the same page now, don't know who's most unlucky.  Grin

The Gooners losing to you after bullying everyone is a sign that Slot might be in the kitchen cooking something to survive past Christmas???

Klopp finally says goodbye and retires from football coaching - man was right about being exhausted, time to enjoy all the money he made from Liverpool on some bench with a side chick.

Shush now, don't let your bad juju sit next to me padi! I'm going to win something big this season I can smell it so close, it's breathing down my neck. Last season, AFCON saved me out of the blue but I have to get something out of one of the pools brother -- you or me, we must snatch it out of the claws of the evil twins who shall not be named.

No idea or judgment yet about Slot, I haven't had the time to really follow what they're doing, but he got them boxing is all I could tell. As long as he doesn't turn into ETH and bring weak ass Dutch players to flail around in Prem League, I'm good.

Damn, 2mbtc weekly freebet, thanks jeremypwr, Steve and Sportsbet for such generous support. It would be great to take yellow cap, but I already see how difficult itwill be. Paid already and dropped PM to hilariousandco

Damn, I will miss him in football a lot. It's not common when coach retires at such age, but dude already achieved everything infootball and can relax without giving a fuck.

Well that's some bloody good news, thank you jeremypwr, Steve and Sportsbet for that as usual massive support for the annual pool!

I'm in of course, and also already wondering how much money to lose over the long term with a Liverpool outright (surely Slot won't make it past Christmas with City and Arsenal looking so strong? And no... Gunners losing to us is a friendly non-impact event).

$130++ weekly freebet. Where else we going to get such goodies?!

No doubt as I am also feeling jeremypwr and Steve from Sportsbet always favorable for the Premier League lover as we have no place where we can find things like these.
So now it's time for having things to be settled before first game which is going to start after two weeks it's surely going to be entertaining season with Pepe is having his last with Manchester City and Arsenal are looking solid for win.

Liverpool could be again in top four because most chances they will be able to handle all others for this spot at the end.

I'm surprised you guys haven't gotten a leather striker or a Saka backup yet--these are the areas that are lacking backups.
A Saka backup is a must for the season, why we have not gotten any beats me. About a striker, the market is crazy right now, and it may not be the best move to splash out, look at how much was demanded for Benjamin Sesko, when we have Jesus, Havertz and Eddie. Got to sell one to raise funds and make room. All of that should come after getting a solid and hungry Saka backup who will push him to his best.

Its scripted - we all know Benjamin Sesko would end up in either Bayern or Dortmund in a way lesser package next season.

Finally the EPL pool is here ..... I'm so shit in this.

Hoping to see some news about this pool asap, so can arrange where to throw my btc early on and be done with it.

Liverpool last season surprised me, then Klopp surprised me, so I'm not sure what kind of surprise I'll be dealing with this one. Agree with Arsenal assessment, they look best positioned to kill the league early and smash and grab.

Citeh? Meh. Pep will be a depressed guy after his greatest rival left.

Latest updates are clearly showing Mikel Arteta is well aware about this issue and still hunting for the Victor Osimhen specially after the news about end of deal which was going on for his loaned spell in Chelsea because his agent is against this.
Great striker, but will cost an arm and a leg. May need to sell both Jesus and Eddie to accommodate him.
