Ten minutes to go. 14 players haven't done their picks but looks like half of them have given up already.

I agree. Ban toma, or make him get a Sheffield Wednesday penalty (let's say -50 points handicap) for next season due to him competing on a level made for football deities. No one should be THAT good;)

Toma is only 15 points in front. That's only really the difference of one great round really. As long as he has at least an average round he'll hold onto the number one spot but the top ten could be shaken up for those that get or lose a lot of points. With all the games being played at once there can be lots of leap-frogging.

I was 11th 2 rounds ago, went in the wrong direction I guess Grin
Anyhow, it's better to finish 15th than 1 point behind the prizes - that would be the worst.

Congratulations to the winners, well deserved for tomahawk9. If I remember correctly, he was leading almost throughout the whole season.

agree, it is better to be far from prices, than just a point behind Smiley

congrats to tomahawk9, he made great performance during the whole season, and it was a tough season, with many turn-arounds, just remember that in the beginning City and United were in lower half, and Liverpool and Tottenham had their battle at the top, Leicester was the only one to be almost the whole season within top4, and will end up without Champions League in the end, pity

Everton missed trains in last few rounds, and will probably miss European competition in the end, and we were leading the table with four wins after four rounds, well, there is always next season

But back to business, I can't really remember when or if I was in the prize spots anymore. So many pools and everything is a blur now but pretty sure I recall a time I wasn't doing so badly.

Next season, please and yes to EURO.

Toma is leading the pool since 5th round. That's something impossible for most of us. He should give us some explanation.

hilariousandco, ban hin in the next pool or make his entry fee 5x than everyone else 🤣

Before the last round after 37 long rounds the top 15 stands

First place is guaranteed for Toma. 2nd to 4th place are almost settled. May be we would see a swap between fortebet and Harko or may be not. Hahay and kryptqnick may fight between each others for the 5th place. 7th and 8th place are almost secure. 9th and 10th place might have a swap or Hoody Hoo might surprise anyone currently at 9th and 10th place and take a place in top10.

This is how I am seeing the pool right now. What about you? Let's gather for the final time until we have the last round.

Quote
1st 0.1
2nd 0.05
3rd 0.04
4th 0.03
5th 0.02

6th 0.01
7th 0.01
8th 0.01
9th 0.01
10th 0.01
Look at this prize money! It's fucking huge, especially for 1st place and to 5th!!

Good call.  And Brighton was still value at 5 imo.  And I think the City boys were celebrating the day before the match.  I saw some vids at the twitterz with Pep and his boys at a party singing Oasis songs.  Lol.

They prolly played with a hang over.  Cheesy

Yes and even the bookies knew that at 5x odds,,, I know Pep said after the game it was difficult because of the red card but they were already 2 goals up so they should admit their defence is bad (they took down an offensive player and put back in another defensive one). Happy for him of course he deserves it but Team C was also probably just not good enough;)

I can't believe that the final matches are happening this Sunday. This was my first time predicting EPL matches, and this has been a wild run  Grin
It seems that my place in top-10 is probably secured, but of course there's still enough room for big changes, so I'm a little worried. I thought I'd play it safe this time, but I couldn't do the round with no risky picks, I guess, so I chose Everton winning against Manchester City. I wouldn't have done anything like it had Manchester City not lost to Chelsea and even to Brighton. Maybe the team will be better at their final game, but I'm not so sure anymore.

I think you have made the right choice in the Manchester City game. They are completely focused to the Champions League final that they almost don't care now what happens to the Premier League as they are already Champions there. This probably explain also why they lost against a team like Brighton. It was also my first time taking part in a pool and I am happy with my performance so far being in the middle of the pool not that far away in points with the 10th place during all this time but it is coming to an end and it was an amazing adventure for me.

Got my first yellow cap, woohoo!

So next round is the final round, right? Do we have a final payouts list?  I know hilarious listed a hypothetical one in OP, but I haven't seen if that one is confirmed or if there's a new one.

Had a blast this season, learned a lot as a EPL noob and hopefully will be back for the next one.

Congratulations and yes there is only one match left so that is the final round. There is a final payouts list in the OP and that is actually the final one after it was discussed earlier:)

Glad you enjoyed so did I,,, except I worry so much now about what happens to my team Spurs who maybe not even have Europa League football to play after being so horrible:(

I don't think that's the case, It's more like the bookies also understand that it's not a must win for City (the same goes for Brighton anyways), City would still play some of it's top players if you ask me, you'd need them match fit as possible, you don't rest a player for as much as 12 days just so they don't get injured, he'd probably keep the barely fit and near fatigued players, like De Bruyne) but I would expect the Sterling and Aguero or Jesus who aren't getting much play time to be involved.

See, Sterling, and aguero did not play,,, JEsus only got 15 minutes after they were losing, so clearly Pep did not really care about it and who blames him, after the red card especially and then to go 2-0 up,,, you would never expect them to lose. When was the last time City lose after 2 goals up, I cannot remember at all:)

Yeah, you're right! However, Man City played a team go enough to see of Brighton imo, but the red card left them at a disadvantage but they still managed to double their lead before it all went south! We'll probably see Sterling and Aguero involved in the final game.

Leicester are the FA Champions, I would not say it's not a deserved victory, but Chelsea deserve better too, imo.

Could this be the beginning of an heartbreaking end to the season for Chelsea fans, I mean imagine losing both finals and dropping out of the top 4, what could be more wrenching?

I'd be surprised if Chelsea beat City in the CL final. I know they won their last two games against them but I think City will be taking this a lot more seriously. Either way I couldn't be less excited about that match. I would have been had City won the FA Cup but a domestic CL final is never great.

You’re jinxing it, right?  Grin  And we all know City chokes at these big crucial matches.  i’m rooting for them to win, I’m going to bet on them to win but I wouldn’t be too surprised if we see City in their ‘off day’ at the final.

I don't really care but I'm sure both teams will give it their all. I just think City are the far better team and if they can't beat Lecister in the FA Cup final then I doubt they'll fair much better in the CL one.

City indeed does choke at the big crucial stages, but not in finals, at least not Guardiola. He's only lost one of the 15 finals he has coached, winning 14 of them. Impressive right ? In the last encounter Man City was the better side, and the match was just as though the team the shortcomings of the FA Cup semi final, it was just luck that wasn't on their side. I would expect a more composed City side and they final is the only obligation they have left, while Chelsea needs to think of the plan B or could miss out the UCL they're a finalist for next year.

Can you believe the odds for Brighton to win against city is only 5x? This means the bookies think for sure City will play C team. I personally always feel this can backfire because top players like playing every 3 days and if you play rested players in a big final, you get fresh and fast teams but both will be so careful not to lose.

Who says this goes to penalties?

^  I don’t think it goes to penalties.  It will like like it in game and it’s going to be a tight, cagey game but I’m pretty sure one of them shoots a goal around the 75th min. and wins it.  At least that’s how I see it in my head.  Grin

And the goal scorer will either be Aguero or Giroud.  Both subs of the match.
