Farewell LEO: o_e_l_e_o
This is Premier League. One does not know what is going to happen.
In fact there are few matchs today that can go south LOL
Brighton can ruin the day for Utd considering the performance Utd displayed against Palace in the last match. In the other two matches it's hard to find a winner in both Burnley vs Southampton and Palace vs Everton. Chelsea should be winning easily.

Anyway, I have somehow finalized my selection for the day. Hopefully I have a good start.

I've been watching the Premier League for a long time, but I prefer e-sport betting more, most recently csgo and lol. I know that for you it is black magic but there you can earn money Cheesy It is a pity that your offer for esports is a bit weak Smiley
I like making multi bets and my only expertise is EPL. I wish I had knowledge of e-sports things, Tennis, NBA etc. It might help to increase the number of selection of the multi bet.

18 matches so far and 0 draws ! What’s changed ? Has a lack of spectators and/or change of playing style caused this or is this just an anomaly! Anyone going for draws this weekend ?

I've gone for a lot of draws this week. There's just a lot of match-ups that I can't split especially on the games today. This probably means that I'll probably get low points again as there's usually not a lot of draws or they happen in games you don't expect. Man United should win but I can't back them away and not with their current form. Palace vs Everton and Burnley v Southampton are all teams that are too closely matched to pick a winner for me. Chelsea are the only team I expect to comfortably win today.

Don't believe the way media spins things. They're trying to sell papers and views by outraging the general public that a player is being paid millions whilst he's off golfing. This was probably exaggerated, but if Real aren't even including him in the squad I can't even blame him for doing something else. And he couldn't leave when he's contracted to stay and Real blocked at least one move that I know of. It was seemingly Real Madrid that wanted to try recoup the money they'd spent on him and wanted a ludicrous fee which was always stifling his exit, but regardless of that, would you leave your job to go to another company for probably 50% less pay? Because that's probably the only way he could have left because nobody is going to match the silly wages Real offered him. If I was him I would have kept golfing, collected my wage then go wherever I want when the contract is up. I'm surprised Spurs paid as much as they did for the loan because it's a ridiculous amount just for a year. They could have just waited a year or two and got him for free but Jose probably doesn't have the long to wait before he's out the door if he doesn't get results.

Exactly,,, I do know though that players these days are expected to warm up to the city and the people but you know,,, not every one wants to do that and that is fine. It is like some players just want to have a personal and professional life, others want to go and embrace the whole football culture that is also fine. And media can love and hate you in one instant.

Let us all hope he plays well and Spurs get another front 3 attack special and EPL has many super tridents in forwards.

It's the fans that haven't warmed to him or they at least turned on him at some point and for some reason. They've mostly treated him like shit so I can't blame him having a sour taste for the club and I don't think he deserved the treatment he got there by them. I'm sure if he could have left earlier he would have but Real are liable to pay him what he's owed on that contract so I wouldn't expect him to walk away from it especially how they treated him.

Maybe Bale really wants to play top football again. The question is - can he?
We are all so quick to put him in the team and think 'well, it's Bale, he's a top player - it will all work out'. He was a top player, it is questionable what he currently is.

A top player is still a top player even if he's sat at the bench. It may or may not work out at Spurs but it's Real's fault for benching him for so long. I'm not really sure why Zidane was so adamant that he wasn't needed, especially after the CL final performance. Not even having him on the bench is just silly. Clearly he's an effective sub.

He's still injured, he will be paid more than Kane and Son combined and he will probably cause some unrest in the team. If he plays well it will all be swept under the carpet, if not - well, good luck to Spurs.
My opinion remains - a big gamble in a position where they already have Moura and Bergwijn.

^  It wasn't such a waste for him at all tho.  He was being paid 600k a week and while golfing and keeping that Real Madrid bench warm.  Cheesy
He wasn't even keeping the bench warm half the time. I'm sure the money softens the blow of not playing but he obviously wants to play and is wasted at Real especially when he doesn't even make the squad.
I am not so sure that it is obvious that he wants to play. To me it seems more like it that money matters to him more than playing top football. If he wanted to play top football and earn decent money, he would have left years ago. Granted he would lose a couple of millions in the way since nobody would match what Real paid him. This way he milked his contract in Real to the maximum while playing golf and not caring too much. Now when his contract is coming near the end he decided it is time to play a bit so he can get solid next contract as well.

Nothing wrong with that, contract is obligatory after all and nobody forced Real to sign it. I could be very wrong about his motives, it is just the picture I have of Bale from what media wrote about him and we all know that media just wants to sell their product and get more hits.

Still buzzing from Son's four goals / Kane's 4 assists,,, and we do not have Bale playing with us yet! Southampton have shown us they are not a shit team so they will be hurting from the two losses and you know they can get a win at some point, just hope it is not too late in the season. So far, tough for the promoted teams too, I am beginning to think only Leeds can stay up now.

If Bale can stay fit you have a chance of getting into the top 4 & gaining much needed CL football. I like the look of Leeds, hoping they can have a good season (my Mum is a Leeds fan).

Yes,,, this is very much my hope. I put down already a small bet on Spurs to qualify for CL as top four (7/1). Last season we were dreadful but I really think we need to make the most of Kane and Son who are surely on their peak,,, plus Bale to really add even more speed and attack. Our defence is okay, we also already somewhat strengthened and can be more relaxed if our forwards keep the ball more.

Your mom will be happy this year, I have a feeling at least Europe football;)

As I said before Son can play anywhere. Either them all up front or Kane up there with Bale and Son as wingers is going to be pretty effective... this is all assuming Bale even plays and isn't out half the season on and off from injuries.

In theory, he can. But the last time he played on the right wing was in 2015/16 season. He's playing either on the left or as a second striker and switching him would probably be a mistake.
Son and Kane are Tottenham's 2 best players and I really feel they will continue being picked in their best positions. That leaves Bale either on the right wing or on the bench, the first one is problematic for Tottenham because you have both wings cutting in and playing narrow and you rely too much on full-backs to provide width.

I just meant to say that personally, the Bale deal looks way better on paper than in real life. What will they do with Bergwijn if Bale plays on the right? They bought him for a lot of money last year, it would not be smart for Tottenham to leave him without gametime.

I understand - they could get Bale so they did it. Something tells me it would have been smarter to pass.

I highly doubt they're going to bench Bale. What would be the point in moving from Madrid if that was the case. The issue was that he wasn't playing. I'm sure he's got some reassurances from Spurs that he will actually be playing if he's fit. I doubt they's miss Lucas Moura either but I think Bale is going to feature prominently in the team when he's fit. Not much point in him being there otherwise.

Will be good to see Bale playing regularly, he’s a great player. It’s such a waste for him to be on the bench all the time. I do wish he stayed on the bench in the CL Final in Kiev though, well either that or Karius wasn’t born  Undecided

In all seriousness though it’ll be great to see him back in the PL.

Easily one of the best goals in the Champion's League ever, and probably the best CL final game. Much better than Ronaldo's. Salah didn't deserve the Puska's that year.

But yeah...  He'll be one of the most impactful signings of the season right up there with Thiago.  The outright for LFC at 3.10 was value.  Not sure how much it is now.

Edit:  It's 2.50 rn.

Why wouldn't they just play him upfront with Kane and Son? Those three would probably be up there with the best strike force in the league.

They can, yeah - by using Bale on the right wing. He played most of his Real games there but that's opening a lot of questions again.
As Trofo noted, with them 3 upfront and offensive full-backs, it will probably be an overkill. Especially because Spurs are really weak in midfield.

It can work if Bale and Son will play as wingers cutting inside while the full-backs are providing width - but they will really suffer defensively if they try that.

BTW, still looking to confirm who PLsbr is. He's put his scores in for the next round so maybe he hasn't seen the PM yet.

Wish us two more exciting games at the end of the second round Cool
I have a feeling these remaining 2 games will have much less goals in them. Wolves will be defensive against City as usual and I woul not be surprised if Villa and Sheffiled played some boring draw like 0:0.

That's what I thought too. 1:3 and 1:0 were then nevertheless even more goals than expected.

All in all I was able to work my way up into the midfield on the second day of our pool.
Hope it goes on like this... I will sleep on it one more night and tomorrow the next round will be tipped Grin

I wonder where will Bale play - has anybody given any thought about that?
When you hear Bale - you instantly think of a top player instead of a lazy and uninterested guy that will probably have to work really hard to regain his fitness and form.

Spurs have a fluid attack full of confidence, bring Bale into it and I feel it just might be the case of having more problems than before. Will he remove Son from the team? Well, no way. Who then? And he won't be happy sitting on the bench, that's for sure.

Left wing..?  But with Son looking really good cutting in from the left, we could prolly see Bale play right wing like he mostly did at Real Madrid.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I was already writing about this somewhere. That Bale deal is really strange for me because of this you just mentioned and another fact. Spurs bought 2 very attacking full backs (Doherty, Regulion) this season for considerable money. I expected them to line with 5 at the back and those 2 playing more like wingers. "Real" winger like Bale will just take space from them. This transfer even though looks spectacular on the surface made me think Spurs will have bad season since they don't have a real idea what they want from the team.
