Can't research them that much just in case of injuries during the internationals. There's some big games when we return though: Spurs v Man City, Leeds V Arsenal, Liverpool V Leicester are all worth a watch and could shake up the table a bit.

The league couldn't be more open right now which is a good thing in my opinion. Liverpool probably won't win it due to all their injuries. City have been very inconsistent and have drawn three games out of their last five. Leeds and Everton were doing very well but both have three losses out of their last five. Leicester are currently first but I don't think they've got the squad or stamina to keep it up. Spurs and Chelsea haven't been playing too bad but not looking unbeatable though I wouldn't put money on them. Southampton are currently fourth and only two points behind first place but you'd be foolish to think they'll be able to keep up their current form for the entire season, so I've no idea who will end up winning it.

It is always boring to death in normal conditions without Premier League action.When we are in a competition it gets even more boring.I too can’t wait for 21 November because from what I have seen during these first weeks the standings change really often week after week so I hope to go up some places in the standings.

You guys really got an extraordinary run of bad luck lately. First Salah with corona and then Robertson and now I hear even Henderson got injured.

I will, I'm having fun with it even when I'm not getting anything right.
There's always a freebet reward to play for, and since most results were out of the ordinary the difference between the 1st and the last place is a lot less than I thought it would be at this point.

As you said, 2-3 good rounds and I can be as high as the paying spots already. But I have to say, it feels shitty to be the bottom 3 one round after another Grin

Yes, that's true. I just remember that I did really badly in the last season, no matter how I tried to change my picks every week. Can't remember but I was very close to the bottom, even some who didn't really seem to be active were above me:) I think everyone in the league now is still struggling to play in new circumstances (the same is happening everywhere in La Liga, Bundesliga etc). I'll be very happy to get a paid position as it'll be a huge improvement for me:)

In previous season winner had more than 400 points I think. So there is still a lot at stake here and everything is possible.
I remember when we start 19/20 season, hilariousetc and LFC_Bitcoin taking a top of the table with a yellow cap or close in almost every round, I was thinking that is over, one of them is a winner for sure, but then others began to make good picks.
I was second at one moment just a few points behind, in the end, I didn’t even finish in the top ten. So everything is possible, especially with crazy games like we saw in the first eight rounds.

I prefer domestics but there's often at least a game or two I'm interested in from the internationals. Belgium are playing England. Belgium probably have one of the best teams on paper but haven't lived up to that yet but I'm hoping they will at some point.

The table is always pretty close as there's not much difference in points between a correct score and outcome. That's one criticism I have of superbru. I think getting a correct score should get you more than 3 points. Maybe 5. I think back when we used the BBC site first they gave 10 points for a correct outcome and 40 or 50 for the exact score which is better in my opinion. That gives you some boost in getting the correct score right whilst it's only marginal with 3 points compared to 1 or 1.5 for the outcome.

Yep. I wouldn't concern yourself too much with placement right now just aim for consistency and that yellow cap. I was mid table for most of last season, then crept up gradually to take the fifth place spot for the last few rounds then lost it on the last match day and ended up eighth.

Yeah, don't worry guys, plenty of fun in this season left and every round a prize to win. 10 points is nothing, 3 solid picks and a slam point and you're covered;)

Just to give you an idea of how tough this group is, I'm actually placed quite "high" in other pools -- 10/518 in one, and currently 1,372 out of 14k in the Liverpool Fans pool.

Last season I was in a few other pools too (I just accept random invites heh) and also did quite well, compared to this one.

tomahawk is flying right now in the pool standings. We are less than 10 games played though, there will be lots of twists & turns in the battle for the top 10.

I’m 17th at the moment out of 48, not great but I started the season so badly. I’ve had so many 1.5 points (close scores). I only have a handful of 3 points (exact scores). I keep missing out by 1 goal or something, very frustrating.

Still, I’ll keep going & I fancy my chances to get a paid spot at the end of the season (top 10).

Arsenal got demolished. Not surprising only two people went for the away win. At least they didn't really effect my position at the table. Up 15 places this round and only 17.5 points behind first place. Considering I was dead bottom 2 or 3 rounds ago it shows you you shouldn't worry too much about your current position. I'm sure I'll be down another 15 places next round Grin

Watched the game and Arsenal was really bad yesterday. They never truly got going, sort of like their performances away from home but this time it was on their home turf. They had few chances when they were 1:0 down and maybe they could have turned it around if they managed to score one of them. In the end there was just way to many uninspired players on the pitch for Arsenal.

Only one who looked good to me was Ceballos, after he entered in the half time break and Bellerin. You can't play on top level like that.

At least Real got trashed 4:1 at about the same time so newspapers out of UK took them apart rather then Arsenal

VAR is good technology, it’s just being used by incompetent people. At times I think I would he better at getting the correct decisions on VAR than the officials in charge of it.

They need to clarify the rules more or even change them. It was meant to be for clear and obvious errors and it should be used when called upon, not check every goal to try find something. It's delaying the game too much when players have to wait for a pointless VAR check to be over before they can kick off again. It's taking the fun out of players celebrating as well as half of the time they're expecting a VAR decision. I'm sure they will do something about it at the end of the season. Far too many legit goals are getting ruled out now like the Leeds one and countless others.

I totally agree, esp with delaying the game too much. And it should be used for the most important of decisions like match result changing ones.. if a foul was really made in the box, a hand ball in the box, etc.. Really close offsides I can live with.
