Yes this was his plus point I also have no enough draws which hurt me badly in last season now working on this because this is also very important thing for taking too many points which I lost in last season.

I personally would not like to see Toke again miles away from others LOL. I always find it amazing (hate it 🤪 ) how he hits all those risky draws. My only problem is I do not pick many draws even when I pick, I end up losing it but in toke's case I saw he makes good picks when he goes for draws.

Currently its very difficult to guess about who will be in top five because we have many new members those are playing first time so any one can do good for this season because its all about luck and skill both need to work good for win.

Paying in the next 24 hours so officially I will be in. Have we reached 40 yet? I saw some post of the sportsbet.io ANN thread too. It seems we are going to have a good season and hopefully the top five will be very competitive.

Any guess who will be in the top five in this year? Maybe we can have some fun speculation before we start 🤪

Changing the picks at the last minute always played nightmare for me LOL

As far as I'm aware the other users can actually see your picks after they've locked theirs regardless of whether you have. Locking the picks is mostly pointless but at least you can see others choices if you're interested, but that's where possible foulplay can come into play if there's collusion. if you wanted to throw people off though I'd just enter a random score and change it as late as you can. I'd be surprised if people go to these extreme but just focus on your own picks and winning it of your own volition/skill in predictions is most of the fun.

I am not talking about our competition, but explaining the strategy of copying the follower and why it's not cheating. In same way the 2nd guys could copy the 3rd if he wants to hold position.

About our competition. I suggest to enter your results but don't lock it. That way no one can see them and share the info, and you can make any last minute correction if you change your mind.

I'm sure the pool will continue to go. Hoping we can hit the 40 mark so that would mean the pool has grown by ten users every season. We can aim for 50 next year.


Yeah. I would be very surprised if someone goes to such lengths. I'm sure there might be the occasional asking a friend what scores someone else has made behind the scenes but it shouldn't really make much of a difference.


It's similar but not the same. I would compare it more to being able to see your opponents hand in poker, which most would consider cheating.


Superbru is a great site in my opinion. Very quick and simple to use and you can even put the entire seasons picks in advance if you wanted (though I obviously wouldn't recommend it.

Lol.  We aren't really dealing with sailboat racing here are we...  There's a reason why you're not supposed to see your competitors' picks before locking your own.

This seemed to be cleared up as I just placed my picks without any issues and they all went through really quick.
Great interface and actually made it an enjoyable process to go thru and not as tedious I thought it would be picking over 7 matches.  
I only went for one draw as I think all teams will come out the gates on all cylinders so alot of goals!

Well that's not really cheating, it's strategy. It's used in sailboat racing when the leader copy the follower strategy to guarantee his win. After all at some point the player showed more skills, knowledge and tactics to become the leader. https://effectiviology.com/follow-the-follower-strategy/

toke, for all we know there could have been multi-accounting last season, it didn't matter because you won it by a mile. If it was a free competition I’d moan about people having a secret alt in there or something. Everybody has to pay though so don’t worry about it. To be honest somebody could have 3 or 4 accounts & still not get a paid prize. The smaller paid spots are 0.01BTC so they’d need to finish high up with both accounts to even make much of a profit as it’s 0.0045BTC to enter per account.

^  Oh I hope it doesn't become an issue, cos that would suck for the pool.  And I think it could even discourage the sponsor from coming back.

We're having a good thing going on thanks to you.  I personally would like to see it keep growing and become some sort of a tradition in the forum.

tyKiwanuka, tomahawk9 and mole0815 all paid and we've hit our target so any additional people who join now will bump up the prizes. I might keep the 6-10 spots as they are just as consolation prizes and bump up the 2-5 ones and/or offer a small consolation prize for the highest scorer.


It's not something I would concern myself with as I'm not sure it will become an issue. Most people will just do it for a bit of fun and probably won't go out of their way to cheat, but again if you have a friend who's locked their picks it's easy to get them to share that and there's nothing we can do to police it other than discourage it. The only time it could become an issue is towards the end of the season and if they had a lead and change their scores based on that, but it's still not foolproof (and again if anyone is concerned about that do what you have to to mask your picks including changing them before kick off). A friend of my used to play fantasy football and he said there was an issue with users cheating once they got out in front they would just pick the same players as the person behind them so you couldn't catch them up. Think picking the correct scores would make that more difficult though as there's nothing stopping a person further down the table climbing the board with some great picks.

^  Multi accounting the pool this season with the overlay gives a mathematical advantage to get in the money, not to mention the ability to see all the other picks.

And it's not that I'm paranoid.  I just like to keep everything fun and honest.  Really...  I don't mind losing fair and square.

Anyway, since it's all out in the open.  Multi accounts allowed, can't enforce players not to cheat then let's just have everything in the open.  I'm pretty sure it's ok for fairness sake.

You can set the pool so you have to manually accept or deny users and that clock just means you haven't been approved (or denied) yet. It doesn't matter really as you're still a participant unless you get declined. I just have it that way so no users who haven't paid sign up.


Nobody has multiple entries as far as I'm aware. I'm not going to start requiring everyone to disclose "friends" on or off bitcointalk as it's not going to do anything. If someone wants to 'cheat' this way then they can easily do it, but it's not something I expect and seeing the scores of another person only gives you a slight advantage anyway. As I said before, if people are paranoid about cheating then you can avoid this by either changing your scores before kick off or only putting them in as close to kick off as possible. Turning off the ability to see scores until after kick off is one of the premium features but they only seem to accept credit cards and there's no option to put your name in so it probably uses the one that you signed up with so I probably couldn't do it even if I wanted to (unless I legally change my name to Hilarious Andco).

That red clock means that you haven't been verified by pool captain. We all have red clocks next to our name so I guess our captain here decided to verify us all at once after all participants sign in. Anyway, nothing more for you to do

I guess you are speaking about one of the pools I am captaining and I opted for another approach to verify people as soon as they sign in. It is not important in the end since I am 99% sure that if you entered scores on time and even joined our pool few weeks after league started you would still have all the points. Superbru works in a way that you sign for main league tournament (ie. Premier League) and then you join all the private pools for that league you are interested in. For instance I am playing our pool here + Liverpool pool + Leeds pool + whole PL pool. You were asked what is your favorite team and auto entered into that pool as well. You are entering the scores just once and they are same for all the pools on that league.

So it's left open to cheating...  Could we at least know and let every participant be aware of who has multiple entries and how many, who brought their friends to join the pool and who entered the pool without a BCT account?  It's only fair imho.

And with jeremypwr, the guy who brought the sponsorship money, saying he prefers one entry per account...  I won't be buying multiple entries.

Just went in today to make my picks but I still see a red "clock" logo next to all of our names, is there something we needed to do? Because I'm also in another pool and I don't see those symbols appearing.

40 paid players would be really cool, always a few cock teasers haha. I did wonder what was going on when I got an email about a pool being deleted but it was the old one

Anybody who posts in this thread who hasn’t paid should get their post deleted. No desecrating the thread with sig spam from non-payers.

rdbase just signed up. We have 30 users now but need another 4 to hit the target of 0.3. We should get that as I think there's 4 or 5 who promised to pay but nothing is guaranteed and I'd like to try get it to 40 users if we can.


Assuming they all pay. There's always a few cock-teasers  . It would be really nice if we could get 40. The pool will have grown by ten members each year then. Seems a way away though.


Well I don't think we could ban a user from winning multiple prizes as that would kinda seem unfair as well if they paid twice. I wouldn't really mind a user winning two spots but it would obviously be a bit shit if one year someone signed up with 5 accounts and won them all. That would be hard to do though and you're probably more likely to lose with all 5. I guess we could try to discourage users signing up with more than one but at the end of the day there's nothing stopping one from being sneaky about it. If somone this year wants multiple shirts maybe just try recruit a friend and let them play whilst you keep the shirt.

It would be easy to do this if you wanted anyway. All you need is a friend who's in the pool. If you're worried about cheating this way you could either not put your picks in until nearer kick off or put a fake score in then change it.
