^  But isn't the 'underperforming Salah' a factor as well?  If he was firing and getting his shots in like last year then maybe they'd won the match?

And that Sturridge goal.  What a beauty.

Had 1-1 for Cardiff vs Burnley and doubly annoyed at that Burnley winning goal because I put my free £5 bet on three draws: That game, Liverpool/Chelsea (which had already come in) and today's Bournemouth v Crystal Palace which I expect to be close.

Well I thought to have done horrendously this week but now that I counted the points I have 3 exact correct scores, Tottenham, Chelsea and Burnely today. I am 16 on the leaderboard but with only just 10 points difference to the leader, this shows how tight things already are here and we only left round 7 behind.

On a side note congrats to LFC_Bitcoin for climbing up to almost first place  Grin

Thanks bro, it’s a really competitive pool this season. There will be lots of twists & turns. Anybody in the top 20 can win it. We’ll see what happens but as always I’m trying my hardest.

I think they're always going to be close. Last year's was as well. I think this years will be even closer because people get an extra half a point for a close score. Also, don't forget there's still five consolation prizes where you can win your money back for being in the top five highest scorers from a round so there's always something to play for. Not sure who the top five are right now but it's easy enough to work out.

^It really is close at the top. One exceptional week or one good week combined with poor weak from current leaders and a lot of us could find ourselves at the top. I had a good week mainly due to a lot of close results too bad there wasn't more exact scores Smiley

The results were mostly as expected. If only Lpool and Chelsea scored another goal (I had both to score and over 2.5) it would have been a great week at the bookies as well. This way I am about even.

Lololol.  I just saw LFC_Bitcoin's prediction for the West Ham - Man United match...  The first thought that went in my head was:  'I can feel the hate flow thru you'.  Lmao.  Cheesy

I do hate them Grin
Mourinho is a cancer at that club at the moment & for their saie needs cutting out before their season is over & it’s still September, 9 points off the top which probably means they’re out of the title race already.

However, haven't seen Sturridges yet or any highlights.

Allow me Smiley

I managed to catch the Hazard goal in a pub we passed. I thought Alison could of probably saved that, and seemed to get fingertips on it. However, haven't seen Sturridges yet or any highlights. What's the verdict guys? Liverpool looking strong still or do you think they've got some work cut out for them?

Honestly, I was expecting them to beat Chelsea with a full squad.

Last night was a fair draw, and like you, I was expecting a Pool win but I'm not too disappointed. Maybe I'm wearing Red-tinted glasses but:

1. One moment of Hazard brilliance, another of Sturridge brilliance. Sort of a repeat of mid-week.
2. Both teams played full strength, but the Reds actually played worse than they have been in previous games. Mo Salah still shrugging off rust and Ramos smackdown. Mane still a bit off the mark. Firminho industry wasn't matched by either wing today. Credit to Chelsea for limiting our usual rampaging wingbacks, and they did make Wijnaldum look a bit nervous but if this is their best against our poor form, then we can take a lot of confidence that we can do better - just to bring our form back!

On this round's performance, I did badly, yet again backing the wrong underdog (though I did better betting-wise). Except for the West Ham game, every other game went the bookie's way, so I'm actually surprised we didn't get anyone above 15 points this week. Look at you toke, all 1 game away from winning yellow cap!

Played a lot of draws today and not a single draw , I played Man.Utd draw, Arsenal draw , and got 0 points from this game. I even have Liverpool draw 1-1. Not a single correct score today and this week has been the worst for me so far. I totally forgot to put the predictions before 1 pm a clock and then I installed Superbru and did the thing with my phone. It is always nice to do it wherever you are.

Well, 3 points for you then, my friend! I was prepared to contemplate a first league loss even when Sturridge came on, but the magic arrived when it was needed most. Fair result on the balance of it and the way Sarri and Klopp embraced smiling, I guess it's nice to be friends with our rivals, change of sentiment after the Mourinho ghost goal era for sure.

Pity we didn't win, and City are top on goal difference but since we meet them next, there's really no better way than to reclaim it... After Napoli of course.

Meh...  Adama Traore starts on the bench again.  Anyway, made a bet on the Wolves at, I guess, fair odds.  ML (vs Southampton at home) at 1.93 after being at 1.80ish all week.

And I guess it's pretty much safe to say that United is def in crisis.  But what if Mou got all the signings he needed, would their campaign a lot more different?  Just something to think about...

Edit:  Damn.  Austin and Ings.  Could be deadly.

Well done to LFC Bitcoin for being the only one to get 1.5 points from first game. You deserve 3 points but West Ham had to score another one. My god, I predicted only 1 goal,,, but I guess West Ham found out how to score again, Pellegrini looked so happy, the fans all looked so happy, 60,000 of them.

I kept betting draw for United but I thought they had to win this one. Looks like I was wrong.

^  Didn't the Hammers have +0.5 at a tad over a coin flip?  I was thinking on betting on that one, but you just can't say with United.  Tho I think it's gonna be a draw, and under 2.5 (I haven't checked the score yet atm and I'm not watching the game).

Edit:  WTF MOU!?!

Edit:  Rofl wow.  United got 5 defenders plus Fellaini and Matic, but they're still behind by two...?  Wow.

I'm going to miss the Liverpool game today as I'm out on a stag due. Shame. I thought it was Sunday they were playing. Anyway, regardless of the result mid week I think Liverpool will win comfortably as long as Van djik is fit and ready to play. Something about bruised ribs or something. Mind games or genuine?

Genuine... he actually had it from the PSG game, aggravated last week and took off mid-game. I would rather still bench him and use him only if needed. This Chelsea win is incredibly important though, and it could be Klopp uses him now and rests him for Napoli. But we'll need him for sure against City so it's a difficult gauntlet to run.

I predicted differently, but I do have a bet on the Hammers going for a win at just over 4/1. They had a great cup game, which is too bad, because bookies would ordinarily have put Utd at a 1.5 bet to win this. That it's over 2/1 is great value for United fans.

The thing is both teams will field weaker sides especially because they are playing each other again on the weekend. But, I feel that Liverpool has the squad depth to field a very capable team. Everyone bangs on about Mignolet, and how awful he is. However, he's gone far with them in cups before, and is a excellent penalty saver if it comes to that. He's not a terrible choice like the fans are kicking up. I think we'll see Sturridge, and Shaqiri get some game time too. I'll be watching this game in the background to get a decent feel of the fans reception of both teams.

That is because the saying fortune favors the bold. In this case Liverpool is the bold because they have full points so far from the EPL and although they are not shinning in attack they are winning games. This gives enough boost to the adrenaline and euphoria of the team and I think Chelsea don't stand a chance against them on Sunday. Cup games are not real testers as many teams do not play their official 11, rather give the opportunity to new players to test them.

Its exactly why so many people are predicting them to win it. They haven't even clicked, and are still turning mediocre performances into wins. That's the winning mentality they have, and as soon as they click I would be worried about facing them. You only have to look at the Reddit of their opponents, and its literal fear of getting smashed, and losing goal difference. A lot of saints fans thought it would be a lot worse. Seemed like Liverpool took their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half to account for their up and coming fixtures which at first looked a little daunting.

When/if they click it could be devastating. Liverpool have just been grinding out results which they never would of done last season.

Last season it took Salah the first 10 games to score 5 goals. Then he scored 5 more in the next 3 games. And we all know how he finished that season.

He's only scored 3 goals so far this season. The fact that Liverpool are top despite them not clicking, as you say, is impressive. If Salah can come back up to the form he was in at the end of last season, Liverpool could run away with it.
