I put my prediction for tomorrow and I put an upset score for the starting game of the tournament. Now in the superbru website it says Lock the picks to see other picks ? I don't understand this. Does this mean that if I choose to lock my picks I can see other players picks ? It is really confusing but at least superbru site is working well, I still miss BBC predictor though.

Six correct scores will get you a Premier League shirt. What was the highest someone got last tournament? 4 or 5?

Six correct scores is a big ask. I know we are not using Superbru for the prizes, but I find it funny that six correct scores on Superbru will win you a shirt, whereas six correct scores in Sky's Super 6 can win you £1,000,000.

But you only choose from the six three o'clock kick offs on Skybet. Here you have ten games to do it in so it's better odds and much more likely you will do it on superbru. Superbru also isn't a multi-million pound betting company and can't afford to give out substantial prizes. They do offer higher cash prizes as well though:

7    £500
8    £1,000
9    £10,000
10    £50,000

But the chance of getting seven correct outcomes or more for a cash prize is astronomical. I wonder how many people actually do that and how much they have paid out previously. I see there's a Global leader-board so every week you'll be able to see how many correct scores the best users got which should be interesting: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/global.php#tab=global-leaderboard

Anyone here using the Superbru application? I'd like to use it for the whole season as it might be very easy to make predictions anytime anywhere using my mobile phone, but it seems that it is not really good application based on the available reviews at playstore. If anyone of you are using the app, let me know your experience. Thanks

Seems fine for me, but just test it out yourself. Sometimes reviews are skewed because they're using a different version of the app to you, or on a phone that can't handle it or they've since released a patch that fixes whatever errors they were having. Regardless, if it's bad just use the website. You can input your selections for the entire season if you wanted and as long as you don't lock them in you can change them at any point up until kick off so just do that if you're worried about the reliability of the app or whatever.

Yap thanks, I just tried it and it works fine so far. The only annoying thing is only about the pop-up ads but it is a common thing. At least I can use it as an alternative way to make my prediction just in case I'm AFK.

You can purchase a premium membership there for £10 which removes adverts if it's an issue: https://www.superbru.com/premierleague_predictor/premium.php

I think I am really liking this site, so thank you for suggesting it. I have put it my predictions now for 5 weeks, and the Tottenham Hotspurs group is quite active so good to see and share the knowledge. We can just make it for Champions League or whatever league and competition here too,,, in fact if there is interest I would not mind looking a small amount into FA cup plus Europa Cup. But not too big of course, I already lost quite a lot of Bitcoin for last season. Must have some discipline now Smiley

Yeah, I like it a lot too. It has a lot more features than the BBC one. I like how there's the potential for prizes, though the likelihood of getting more than four or five correct scores is very unlikely and you need five to get the minimum prize of a SuperBru cap (not exactly a great prize but better than nothing I guess). Six correct scores will get you a Premier League shirt. What was the highest someone got last tournament? 4 or 5?

I can confirm Superbru is working as well- I assume you're using a mobile device for browsing on Superbru (which I often do too), and I don't have a solution for the ads on mobile, but if you're on desktop a simple Chrome extension like Adblock Plus works to prevent popups and ads- I didn't even notice the ads until I began browsing on my mobile device. I know many here don't like third-party chrome apps, especially after a recent MEW chrome extension hack, but it's absolutely essential for me.

AdBlock Plus also has a mobile adblock browser app, but I haven't used it before so I can't speak of its effectiveness, but if you wish to try it out, it should be on the front page here.

24 people have paid but only 19 have signed up the superbru site so far (or joined the actual league). Don't forget to sign up there and put your scores in before Friday/Saturday. Check your PMs for details how to join the league, but I think you can join leagues at any point so just make sure your scores are submitted at least so you don't miss points.

Four users are still yet to pay:

ralle14
BitSat
Aleister Crowley
painwendir

Please pay ASAP so I can sort the prizes out.

CL is gonna start in a couple of months or so.  Should we be starting to promote that too?  I'm pretty sure at least 10 players in this pool will also join the CL one.

I'm cutting back on the sports bets after a bad season, so I'm gonna need these pools to at least make the games more interesting.  I don't bet that much per match, but the losses do stack up.  Lol.

I'll get a Champions League one going when this one has started. Give it a week or something so people can see whether they like this one and the superbru site.

I've not used the app (I generally install as few apps as possible due to privacy concerns), but their website has a mobile version that is well laid out and pretty easy to navigate.

Welcome to all, good to see the board start filling up. We've got past winners, past recordbreakers, but everyone starts with a clean slate, just like in the EPL!

I think what I'll really like about this new system is the extra points for those "close scores". Before, you could risk predicting a really high scoring game and yet get nothing out of it. I remember in the WC pool too, predicting 4-0 and the game won 3-0 would get you fewer points than a guy who predicted a 1-2 opposite result (just because of correct number of goals, regardless if outcome was correct). This new system seems a little bit better, since outcome still has to be correct for you to get the "close" points. Of course there'll be complaints impossible to give a fair system that suits everyone but yeah, it'll feel better to take risks for this new game.

That's what I like about this one. I've been shafted so many times in the last few minutes by a late goal so it would be nice to get some consolation points for that. I think it would be a nice additional feature if you could be able to set your own points scoring system. I think a correct score should be something like 50 points with a correct outcome 10 or 20. A close score could get you 10 or 5 or something. It's obviously much harder to pick a correct score so that should be reflected in the points awarded and by more than just 20 as it is now. It not that difficult picking correct outcomes and getting the score exactly right is fairly difficult.

Seems like 11 people have made picks so far for the first match and we're currently at 16 participants. Nice to see so much hype on this thread right now, can't wait to see how things turn out. I expect I won't make it too high in the leaderboards, but I'll try my best and this'll be fun for sure. Smiley

I also just joined and have made pick for the first match, hopefully I will not make mistakes again as at the beginning of last season. Lol!
I didn't expect to get yellow cap here, but if I could get a premier league jersey it would make me happy too! Cheesy

I just joined your pool with same username as here and yes I am still the holder of more single correct score results from last round. I did make up to 5 within a week. Let's see if I get a Yellow Cap this year  Grin

So we can now confirm that you cannot see other players' picks until after you have finalized your own picks (and can no longer change them), making cheating impossible.

Also, you can make your predictions for the entire season now if you wanted - so if you know you are going to be away/at work/tight for time/etc one week, you can make your predictions way in advance.

13 people signed up so far.

I came 3rd in our PL pool last season (StephenCurry 1st & hilarious 2nd).
I came 2nd in our WC pool (Trofo was 1st, can’t remember who was 3rd).

I’m going to try my damn best to win this one but I guess there’s a chance I won’t even be top 5 this time. You can’t get lucky in every pool you enter.

I was number 2 for a day or two in the WC pool and ended up being 3rd, so yeah that was me, right behind you Wink

I have no experience at all actually playing in pools, or even anything like this, since most of my friends don't even bet, or even watch football, so yes, very much looking forward to this one. It is nice to know the pot got bigger thanks to Cloudbet, and they also have a competition going on for August it seems. So I should say this forum has made my gambling life so much more interactive.

Yeah definitely, kudos to Cloudbet it’s a great gesture by them. I know they will gain custom from a lot of us bit they do well any way, they didn’t have to.

We have a great bunch of guys here & it’s really fun competing with good, friendly, honest people.

Good luck to everybody but obviously not as much luck as me, hopefully Cheesy
