This was quite an unpredictable week with Luton winning their first point and Austin Villa winning away against Chelsea.
In hindsight I feel I should have predicted more draws than I did as teams are starting to settle down in the league. Not the best of weeks with my Rankin sinking down fast.

Brighton for me were the most impressive. Coming off their loss in the aEuropa league and the tired legs they must have as the games comes thick and fast, I expected Brighton to really struggled even though it was against a weker opponents, but they were impressive for most of the game.

For Arsenal, it was 2 points dropped and not one point gained.

big win for Everton tonight
hoped to see at least a draw, but Tarkowski and Dom scored in second half to get all points home, and easy a bit on tough start

it is first win for Sean Dyche in August and September since 2019, what a score to have as a manager

United is up, Fernandes scored just before halftime

Brentford screw it up the hard way tonight. They couldn't manage to win against the worse team of the league at least statistically as Everton in reality has some good players which can make a difference and they ruined every one bet in the night games of the Premier League.

Luckily for us at the rescue came Manchester United with a clinical win,0 errors there and they had quite some score chances in the second half.

It is not finished yet as tomorrow Brighton is very dangerous to bet on,they are tired from European competition and they were even beaten by a weaker team so I did not fell for that 1.48 odd the bookies are giving them.

Not sure what I was thinking picking Wolves as the standout in my acca today. They were playing away, they can't score for crap, and it's Wolves. I just thought Hwang was on a streak, and then Pedro scores a man down I thought the gods of football forgave me but the draw actually seems a little harsh on Luton.

See if United can outdo everyone else today though. I have silly money on Burnley today just because.
I had Wolves on my ticket as well, but I also had Brentford and United. Seems like it could be 0 from 3 how that day has progressed so far. Thankfully, there is DOTA tournament going on and I will win that ticket and finish the day on positive 0.

Seems like quite a strange day in PL.
Not only PL, few other leagues are also having strange day and mostly this happens on Saturday, I am also very upset with few results right now.

Having just four points from first four matches, not a good start.

Well they were leading if they didnt get a red card it would have went the other way probobly. I went with 1-1 so got the correct result and Luton finally got a point in the premier league. Also got 6 points out of 3 games so a good start to this round so far. To bad that Forest didnt score a goal

although there is yet hope for a rebound.
Your Chelsea is so frustrating that in this round I am going with a draw even though it's Aston Villa.

Chelsea needs to win this game and I think they are favored in this encounter not only because they are playing home but because Aston Villa needs to be totally destroyed after they together with Brighton are the shame, the real shame of English football losing to teams like Legia Warsaw from Poland and AEK from Athens, much lower quality leagues,so I am strongly confident that Aston Villa will be tired by playing on Poland on Thursday.I am going to bet a lot of money against them as my rage of losing my tickets because of such teams is still on fire and I am still extremely mad at them.

Nah, I messed it up. Our bet is Chelsea in the top 4 - but you ain't getting that one correct either Grin

Nah! Too far from done, we play less games than the other Top 6 clubs playing European football, therefore failing to make the Top 4 would be a nightmare. This was my thought before placing the wager, but things aren't looking good, although there is yet hope for a rebound.

Wenger started his U-25 project when Arsenal was struggling for money, and he had fantastic results with that team on really small budgets.
People made fun of these teams and called them 'nearly there's' but they overachieved almost every season.

Boehly and his team spent an incredible amount of money on talent and are nowhere near the results that Wenger had.

The U21 project is always for teams with small transfer budgets, so I'm not sure why we're doing it when we're one of the richest clubs in the world with no debt. The U25 project takes time and most of the time it doesn't work out at all. We would have been fighting for the league if Abramovich was still around.

Like I said even in the top10 seems very hard for the Chelsea team if not impossible. You are winning.

No one is to take the side anymore?
Maybe a better and competitive market can be if Chelsea will be in top 10 of the point table? "No" at what odd? Make me an offer LOL

Thanks man.

Yes i win this round, i was not so confident to win , because i put a "risky" prediction in the last game, but ended up b eing the correct one.

About the BTC price, yes the halving next year i hope to bring some good news to all of us.

And yes, its my alt this one.
Congratulation. My only wish is I will rank up high on the pool table LOL

Hah!  Loving this betting pool.  As soon as we send our BTC to hilarious I think the price will be at 5k USD or something.  Then as the 2018/19 season ends it could trend up to 30k USD or so (maybe more?).  Grin

This is why I have a love/hate relationship with bitcoin.  I will always support bitcoin obviously but it can be quite annoying when you get paid in bitcoin and the price plummets %50.  Of course the opposite can happen as well and it can rise %50.  The price we pay for being early adopters I guess Smiley

I think the price will be much higher in May 2024 than it is now. Anybody who has been in bitcoin for more than a few years will know why.

But yeah, price fluctuations are all part of the game. 1 bitcoin = 1 bitcoin though.

Any way congrats to darbit who gets the yellow cap for round 5 with a very impressive 21 points.

Thanks man.

@darbit congratulations to winning yellow cap!!

It was recorded 21 points in this round, and I was also fortunate to achieve 17 points, which pushed me up into the top ten positions. Now, I'm very close to the top spots. Let's now focus on the opening matches of the UEFA Champions League, with Newcastle in mind. They must deliver a strong performance to stay in the tournament for as long as possible.

The Wenger project was way different from what Chelsea is doing today. Todd Boehly is basically just throwing multiple darts at the mark and hoping one sticks. Buying young players for exorbitant amounts and drawing up long term contracts is not the way to rebuild a team.

He needs to work with the manager and not bring him into the project and understand that it takes time to build up a team, especially after a drop from their current status in the league.

Oh I did? Danm it! We're not going to finish above this Liverpool team, no way, no how. Our lonely win came against a just promoted Luton, and we struggled to get it. I feel bad for Todd Boehly and his colleagues, but they fail to do their basic homework before going on their U25 player project. They should have asked about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger's U25 project a few years ago.

No way Mudryk, Enzo, or Caicedo are worth the money we paid for them. Sterling and Gallagher will not be used by any serious European team.

You've already won that side bet; this Chelsea team will not finish ahead of this Liverpool team. Spent £1 billion to look like Swamsea. I'm exhausted, man. When will you need your 1mBTC?

You have that one against me as well Grin
Don't give up just yet, it's still not theoretically lost. It will be in January though.

This Chelsea team is simply horrible, nothing can save Boehly's Frankenstein project.

but I’m very upset that Newcastle, United and Chelsea are too deep and there’s no point in expecting an interesting fight for the top 4 yet.
Newcastle upsets me the most [Utd does not make me upset because I accepted that they are unpredictable]. I had high hope for Castle considering their games in last season. Having promoted to the CL, I was expecting more from them but from 5 matches their earning is only 6 points. I am not disappointed that they lost against City and Liverpool [In-fact I was convinced that they will win Liverpool though] but against Brighton and Brentford [although they won] they did not look a better team. Champions league needed a better team from England, certainly Castle is going to make it boring.

I understand your frustration darling. Let's settle it after end of the season with other side bets. But don't lose you hope, it's still long 33 rounds to go.

I think it is a bit to early to call this project a Frankenstein one. There are another 30 weeks of football or a bit more until the Premier League ends and I think Boehly has learned his lesson last season that changing often the coach is not the way to go so I believe he will keep Pochettino until the end of the season no matter what results he gets.

I am confident that Chelsea will improve over the long run and they most likely will get a European spot in the end of the Premier League, maybe an over optimistic prediction but I am sure Chelsea will achieve it  Grin.

Anyone is watching Bouremouth vs Chelsea? Still goalless although it not even half time. Where is flumpnuggets? Do you still think Chelsea is going to finish ahead of Liverpool? Maybe now there is another side bet we can think about which is will Chelsea be relegated? LOL

Good question!  Grin
But I don’t think that anyone will accept such a bet at odds of less than 1 to 100.

Meanwhile, although results are often very difficult to obtain, we see the usual picture in the top 4 after 5 games: City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool. I’m glad that City are not so far away (although they have a 100% result), but I’m very upset that Newcastle, United and Chelsea are too deep and there’s no point in expecting an interesting fight for the top 4 yet.
