That gives you 1 point advantage over @Pulsar77, goodluck on the 3rd place final. I kinda wonder why most people were going for over 3.5 goals on this. If I were playing in this I would have gone for under 2.5 goals as well though. My thought process would be City might play this one less aggresive than usual especially because they have won the league hence under 2.5 goals on this but it seems they were quite aggresive yesterday

I personally think it's fitting that Slissy took this season -- he's maybe the oldest user active on chat at SB, hope to see him also post more often in the forums here too.

Like oldest in term of real life age? woah

I pity the guys who picked 3 goals yesterday and still didn't win, thanks to VAR (don't know why Pep was so upset, a shirt pull's a shirt pull, I felt it was soft but absolutely correct... if you've ever run on a pitch and even gotten pinched just a little it throws you off balance).

I totally forgot about sending my try as well for fun, one of those days that slips by when you think about it all the time in the morning.
So you are staying in Division 1 next season?
It is going to be a big competition next year in both Division 1 and 2 and I think BSFL will become much more popular when guys from website start competing.

Unfortunately for everyone, yes. Or fortunately, if I'm the giver of points. Worked well to back slight underdogs in the first half of season, and then no longer after that.

I can tell you guys that I actually watched the game for a little while and when the second goal was scored I stopped watching for quite a bit. I did select under 2.5 because I thought this is one of those games where either City scores the firs and then doesn't invest much into scoring another one, but rather ace the ball possession game and save some energy for the games in the next weeks. But Brighton was also pressing and that made me think that this one is probably lost. I was hoping for no more than three goals in order to tie this round against Pulsar77. But what an ending given that the VAR also had to intervene.
It seems like inspired selection in hindsight but you were a bit lucky here. There was several more goals that did not stand due to faul, offside or handball and even some posts. On another day this match could have had 5 goals easy.

Oh no doubt about that and I guess I implied this by saying that I stopped watching for quite a bit because I thought there is no way it is going to end with two goals only. Even my hope was gone that it will end with 3 goals. A funny coincidence was that when I started watching again right in that moment the one goal was scored but not given. Definitely a lucky ending when those two teams are on the pitch and it is 1-1 after 38 minutes. I guess in 90% - 95% of such games at least a third goal is scored.

But it was inspired selection before the game started as I described before. I didn't expect City to go for three or four goals if they score the first one.

Edit: as @buywaytress also said, there is less incentive to select an outcome that is against the mainstream expectation. I was sure that not too many would choose under 2.5 and at the same time thought there is a realistic chance for that outcome. Apart from the fact that it was literally over after the first half, selecting outcomes that can make the difference is also a bit of a strategic element.

That one was a n intense sweat for me! Cheesy

It is not over yet, but if this one point makes me win this round, it would be one of the more spectacular picks, wouldn't it?

It's pretty funny to watch the results without the pressure. I can't believe that there are so many wrong answers this week. The only "good" answer so far is the Inter-Fiorentina game and most of you got it right.

2 VAR killed us all, the score would have been more than 3.5 goals without VAR.

Yeah that would've been sweet, my opponent had over 3. Been a somewhat tough round thus far I must say. Grin Grin

@darxiaomi: Argentina's doing amazing things with peso. Should ask Steve to put a special on how high inflation can get by UCL final. On that note, I am sending you a PM Wink

Hahahaha man you make me laugh.

And its more fun to come, the forecasts are saying for may we reach the double digit per month, so in may we are gonna have 10% inflation in only one month, i think the 15 of June we are gonna know the official number.

and I think BSFL will become much more popular when guys from website start competing. Maybe we could send all out answers directly from Sportsbet website instead of google forms, but it would probably be a lot of extra fork for stuff, unles cro2 team starts working there full time  Grin

You mean everyone from sportsbet would be able to participate? but we already have similar 'quiz' like this on sportsbet, the 4-3 free and 6-6 free. I've never won anything from those two and I wouldnt want BSFL to available for the entire sportsbet's player lol I want this to become an exclusive league for bitcointalk user like us.

I wish we can get more players for season 2 though, it would be alot more fun that way
We opened the competition to people that are active on Sportsbet chat. Mostly guys from my Premier League Fantasy chat which will also become BSFL chat directly on Sportsbet page once per week. You heard it here first Smiley That is nowhere near the exposure 4-3 gets and it is exposure to the people that basically chat about sports all day long. They should be a nice fit for this competition.

We already had a couple of those guys in first season, our grand winner Slissy is one of them.

Never gonna happen, point is that we run it here, otherwise it is just another promo on Sportsbet site. Social component that this thread provides is crucial to the project.

Random suggestion:
That NBA question on the surface looks really cool but as with tennis selections, always seems to end up in plenty of draws. Might need to "reward" additional bonus points (complicated but you know, maybe an excel formula). If fewer than 40% of total players pick a name/option that ends up being in there, that option also gets the player a point or half point in that H2H question? That encourages people to pick someone just on the fringes. ATM the risk is too high to not pick favourites.

We had that one where we gave 0.5 points or 1 point, based on the position in the top 5.
Didn't like it because in NBA it depended too much on luck but I agree - this was worse.

We're still trying it out a bit, some questions will be great and some will be s$%t. Do offer your thoughts as well, but also we'd like you to know that we're already analyzing it all and that we don't like to see when things like these happen.
We'll revise and improve it for sure Grin

Meanwhile, my man mitch is the only guy who has a point from the semifinalists, (brave, brave pick against Barca, or just well-informed?). So I'm already sitting on a leading horse.

Other La Liga results bombed for me...

good memories on Deportivo, it was a great club in 90's and 00's, but declined a lot since, now in third competition level
when Valencia won title in 01/02, they were second, and that was a rare season when neither Real nor Barca finished top2, at least in period when I was following La Liga

those were the days when La Liga was probably best league in Europe, but lost that position to EPL in last decade

This is so true. Deportivo and Valencia, then Atletico Madrid joined the top group, Sevilla and Villareal often played an important role. I agree it was the most exciting league at that time. Not to forget that the Champions League win for Bayern against Valencia was a top game. These days nobody can even see Valencia in a CL final in their deepest dreams. La Liga took the final hit when the rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi peaked and then fell apart. It was that rivalry that kept La Liga alive for quite some time and Atletico developing into this fierce defensive, highly competitive squad was the icing on the cake. Now there is hardly anything left of all of that and I doubt that they can bring La Liga back to that level anytime soon. Most players want to go to the EPL. Not that they don't dream of Real Madrid anymore, but La Liga isn't the same these days.

The record for clean sheets has been set in the season 1993/94 by Deportivo with 26 clean sheets. Ter Stegen and Barcelona will now only be able to beat that record if they do not concede a goal in the last two games.

Ter Stegen is probably angry because his team is about to destroy a historical record that he could have had attached to his name if they kept defending like they did most of the season.

Well if I dont count this wrong, he has 26 clean sheet just in La Liga this season so thats basically a huge record already but yeah considering how slopyy Barcelona is on their last 3 games then he probably would be a bit pissed with this

He has 25 clean sheets so far and conceded goals in three consecutive games (7 in total). He was about to break all records, but the last three games ruined it. He can't break the records anymore.

The record for fewest goals conceded has been set by "1990s Deportivo side and Atletico Madrid in 2015/16." It is 18 goals in 38 games. Considering that Barcelona is already at 18 goals, they can't become the sole leader in that statistic anymore. It's a pity considering that they conceded 11 goals in 33 games and now 7 goals in 3 games. These benchmarks were in reach!

I see that out of everyone competing, only mitchr4 got the first answer right. Nice job man! I would have probably go with 1 goal on that question.

This has me abit worry for now because mitchr4 is 1 point ahead of vd309 for now. Aside from that, the majority of their answers are the same and both are left with only two questions with different answers

@vd309 : all the best bud for the last two questions with different answers
