If you received that email, completing KYC is still optional unless your account becomes restricted, requiring verification to continue playing. If you’re highly protective of your personal data, you can keep playing, but avoid going overboard on any casino—not just Stake. Winning big might trigger a mandatory KYC process regardless. Personally, I’d take the $250 offer now to avoid potential KYC hassles later. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what feels right.

I would certainly agree with you, taking 250 USD seems like an easy decision.

We’ve been talking about this $250 bonus for completing level 2 KYC, but we haven’t really dug into the terms behind it. I mean, if that balance gets credited to your account, it’s highly unlikely you can withdraw it instantly. There’s definitely a set of terms and conditions tied to that amount, otherwise, gamblers would be rushing to comply just to cash out easily.

I still have a curiosity. Can I keep my account even after the deadline and do a KYC when I need to or would my account be deleted after failing to comply within the deadline?
You can keep your account as a non-KYC account. But, it will be in withdrawal-only mode, and your account won't be deleted.

I have an old stake account but I'm not active and have no immediate plan to use it but I want to keep the account for stats and possible future use. It's not that I'm not willing to comply, I'm just not interested in filling forms and uploading documents when I'm not regularly using it.
If you want to use your account regularly, complete level 2 KYC. If you just want to keep it, do nothing.

Exactly the point bud, stake kyc requirement is level 2 minimum, and level 2 kyc verification on stake does not require much, just a document ID, phone number and email address, i am not very sure but I think taking a photo while holding your ID card is not even needed for this level, I can't remember doing such when I got my account verified for level 2, ...

I can confirm. I have completed the submission of my documents for level 2 verification on Stake, and they did not require me to take any picture of me holding the documents or take a selfie in the same manner we would have expected from most exchange or banks.
I was rather a positive surprise level 2 verification does not need us to go beyond taking a picture of our personal iD and filling up some information. I even feel compelled to go for level 3 verification unfortunately I don't have a residence proof document at the moment.
Hopefully regulators won't push too hard in the years to come, since I could see many gamblers having a rough time if they were asked to submit a proof of funds to any device, many are from developing countries, after all.

When it comes to gambling online, I often advice gamblers to choose one or two casinos as I usually don't see the need to gambling on multiple casinos at a time, I've choose stake myself and have completed my kyc there, and stake is the only casino that I have given my personal data and will forever remain the only one.
Now that KYC is being strictly implemented, we should stick to casinos we trust. Personally, I believe Stake is a reliable choice because it has maintained a solid reputation. So, if there’s no other option but to complete KYC before gambling, I’d gladly comply with Stake’s process and might just stick to this casino moving forward.

It's absolutely stress free, and with the level of stake in the industry, I trust that they sure would have a great and secure system where they store their user's personal ID to avoid it being stolen seeing that they have been hacked ones before.

Hi. I received several emails from Stake regarding verification and receiving a $250 bonus for completing lvl 2 verification. I have been using the site for almost 4 years and I have invested a lot of time and energy into my account. Will I really lose access to my account if I don't verify by January? Sad

The only reason I signed up in the first place was to protect my privacy and I have had a lot of good memories using Stake, it would be unfortunate if I am forced to leave in the New Year. Undecided

I think they are dead serious thus you need to think twice about what is more important for you i.e. their money or your anonymity before making decision. I have also received the similar offer and choose to leave them luckily there are many options for non-KYC online casinos round here as prefer to not spread my personal data over online databases as many of them are not breach-proof.
Yeah, you are right though, the kyc verification on stake have become mandatory, and right now, it has become a matter of accepting it or letting go your access to all the stake activities and features apart from withdrawal, this is to say that if by the 1st of January 2025, a user have not passed his or her kyc verification on stake, his or her account will be transformed and turned into a withdraw-only account, this is to say that the user can neither deposit funds or play any games on stake, he or she will only be able to withdraw funds from the account and that's all.

Stake or other services will never delete your account just because you didn’t comply the KYC. Your account will just freeze and will not able to access without the KYC.

The deadline is clearly for the account access without KYC not to be deleted after the deadline or else it’s clearly stated on the announcement about this potential repercussions since it’s a serious matter.

Also, Stake will not dare to delete their customers account especially those who have record of wagering. I think it’s same when your account is self excluded which you need to contact support to recover your account through verification.

Yes, the account won’t be deleted, but it might as well be if you don’t comply. Based on the announcement, after the deadline, any user who chooses not to comply will have their account placed in "withdraw-only mode." Basically, you’ll only be able to withdraw whatever balance you have left.

But honestly having a "withdraw-only" account feels like having no account at all. Whats the point of keeping it if you can’t use it for anything else? It’s like being locked out without officially shutting the door.

I don't think it's a bonus related issue because already stake has announced KYC level two verification mandatory on their official site. So there is no bonus claiming here because after 31st December if KYC level 2 is not upgraded then you can no longer deposit or play games in your account only you can withdraw. The think you can only able to do on your account that the fund you have hold on your account you can withdraw that. And this is what I understand as far as what I understand by reading there updates on their site.
Bonuses are only given to select users, if they gave it to everyone verifying their account, they’d be spending a ton. If you’re a Stake user with an old account but haven’t been actively gambling, chances are you’re not eligible for the $250 bonus for completing Level 2 verification. In their announcement about the mandatory compliance for Level 2 verification, there was no mention of any bonus being included. So, it seems like the bonus is more of a perk for loyal and active users rather than a general offer for everyone.

I personally am not sure about that (claiming the bonus), because it has been a long time since I can no longer claim my affiliate bonus there and even, it happened before the notification about the mandatory level two verification regulation like this. So, for now, it seems that I still believe that maybe users who do not verify level two after the deadline, may not be able to do anything in the stake. But about your post with a quote like that, maybe I will also wait for the results later, because I also really can't send KYC related to the mandatory stake rule for next year. But maybe, I will change my mind later, to do KYC to still be able to use it.

I think kyc will not mendotori from 1st January on stake.com. they just asking this verification for extra bonus. if you not L2 verified user then you will have a limitation of gambling and deposit and withdraw amount. i am also agree with you stake is enough reputable casino site so anyone can complete L2 verification without any worries. because stake will excryp all users deta for user safety
But I think there is going to something serious after the 31st December 2024 because I saw in the stake official site that they were asking kyc as kinda mandatory after the 31st December 2024. As they were announced that the account will be switch to the only withdrawal mode that's means those users who will not make their Kyc Level two those won't be able to deposit or make bet they can only do the withdraw. So this means KYC level two will gonna be mandatory after 31st December on stake.
2. What happens if I miss the 3-month deadline for verification?
If you don’t complete Level 2 verification by 31st December 2024, your account will switch to withdraw only mode. This means you won't be able to deposit or place bets but can still withdraw your funds and claim bonuses. However, as soon as you complete Level 2 verification, you’ll be able to deposit and place bets again.

I personally am not sure about that (claiming the bonus), because it has been a long time since I can no longer claim my affiliate bonus there and even, it happened before the notification about the mandatory level two verification regulation like this. No one knows the exact answer for your curiosity except Stake, you can ask live support to get better answer.
I have questioned myself some time ago and I guess Stake wont delete all the non-verified account immediately because I think Stake will still give an extension especially if the number of non verified users is still big enough.
Is your account a high level rank already so you want to keep it? If is low level account, I dont think there is no good reason to keep as if they delete your account then you may be able to create a new account with direct KYC next year.
Just my 2 cents.

Even if there really is such a bonus, I personally have never been interested in revealing my identity. But yeah, because I'm also part of the stake campaign, then maybe I'll be doing level 2 verification as well, I don't know. Because honestly, I personally don't feel comfortable at all when revealing my identity online like this, because there are so many concerns that I feel. I personally have also received this notification maybe since a month ago I forgot the exact date, but until now I haven't done it yet, because I have a lot of considerations to do a level 2 verification like this by giving all personal identities.

Do you plan to do KYC in the future when you want to use Stake again? or do you want to play Stake without KYC?
I think your account will still be open, not deleted. But you will no longer be able to enjoy the Stake game if you do not do KYC. Maybe that's what I got from the Email message that was notified to all Stake users.
If you are not interested in filling out the form and uploading the required documents to verify your Stake account, that's your choice.

I haven’t verified my Stake account yet, but when I open it, I see a notification to update. I think I’m part of the directive for Level 2 verification. The only downside? No bonus for me, lol.

Being Level verified on Stake means you can double your reward on stake promotion in their forum. You should capitalize on that if you are long time verified because I’m not sure why you verify long time ago without getting any benefits while it’s still not mandatory. Hehe

Seriously, I only just verified in advanced before due to the cash drop and double rewards offer by Stake that time.

I think this isn’t just about the bonus, it seems there’s an actual directive involved, as mentioned on the website. It looks like it’s something they’ve officially implemented, not just tied to promotions or perks.

https://casino.online/news/complete-stake-com-kyc-level-2-by-january-2025-to-access-bigger-bonuses/

Quote
From 1st January 2025, customers must complete Level 2 verification to continue using their Stake.com accounts. This involves submitting identification documents, which protect players from fraud, ensuring that all account transactions are secure and compliant with regulatory standards. Importantly, this change guarantees that funds and withdrawals remain available, and no funds will be withheld during the process.

Additionally, completing KYC allows users to claim new bonuses, including VIP-level promotions tailored to their playing history. Verified users will receive exclusive offers and benefits, making this change even more rewarding.
