Every user is entitled to this and what he hinted is not hidden information, we all know that Stake is currently undergoing KYC overhauling with a $250 bonus attached to it as an encouragement and to show how generous they are.
And there's a deadline for the users to comply.

It was also discuss in the stake community forum.. so it seems like many are eligible for the bonus if they will comply.
https://stakecommunity.com/topic/108697-250-verification-bonus/

I haven’t verified my Stake account yet, but when I open it, I see a notification to update. I think I’m part of the directive for Level 2 verification. The only downside? No bonus for me, lol.

Totally depends on you whether you do comply the KYC  or not but actually it's really that not bad on getting some bonus for such verification on which to assume that you have done KYC level 1 and you've been that playing on the site for too long, then you will definitely having that kind of trust.

I do agree on what you have said that regulations do changes overtime on which there's really that tendency or chance that you will be needing to have that KYC level 2 or other verification process.

That’s something OP should know..he might just waste the bonus if he keeps playing without KYC, only to find out later that it’s required at every level. A lot of regulated casinos have already been penalized for not following the rules, so to avoid that, they’ve got to stay compliant. Compliance is key for them to keep things smooth.

It wasn't that way for a long time with Stake though. With just a minimum amount to spend in the casino, they weren't requiring KYC docs. I'm not sure if users will really lose access to their account if they are not submitting docs but it will be not be good to lose access.

The offer seems different to each user, the offer to me in an email I believe was $10 only. Maybe because I wasn't a big spender but I would like to gamble whether I'd lose my account or not. I will find out in time.
The deadline like I learnt is January next year being 2025, that is, if you received an offer from stake to complete kyc and get the bonus, and you did not adhere to it, there is every possibility that by January next year, you either will have to complete the kyc (this time without the bonus anymore) or withdraw the funds you have in your account and your account will be parmanently closed.
I have not verified this information from official source, but some of my friends who are users of stake and also received an offer and contacted stake customer care about it said this is what the customer care told them.

And regarding the value of the kyc bonus offer stake offered to those they sent an email to, the value is actually different, but the highest amount is $250, the value you get depends on how much you have spent on the casino and how active you have been playing.
There's still enough time for them to decide whether they will really be complying with those KYC or not on which basing up into someones choice whether they could be able to hold it up or not
in terms of someones preference on which we know that not all will really be that confident on making up some even more verification. If this one is accompanied with some bonuses then
this might really be not a huge concern for a certain individual but if this one talks about privacy then other players will really be that might be having some issues with that.

Its true that this isnt really he right place to be asked about such manner but it will really be that ideal that this should really be asked with some costumer support in regarding about
concern and other questions because this forum isnt something that could give out the best possible answer in relation into some concern specially on a specific gambling site.
There are those people who are really that might be able to give out some information on which it might not be true or simply misleading.

Its important that you do know at least on what are those terms and conditions plus the tendency or chance for those changes overtime.

Hi. I received several emails from Stake regarding verification and receiving a $250 bonus for completing lvl 2 verification. I have been using the site for almost 4 years and I have invested a lot of time and energy into my account. Will I really lose access to my account if I don't verify by January? Sad

The only reason I signed up in the first place was to protect my privacy and I have had a lot of good memories using Stake, it would be unfortunate if I am forced to leave in the New Year. Undecided
but now that you are being tagged  this looks like there will be no trust in everything you are going to say as you are already  having a bad reputation here in this forum .
Tag is a sure way to differentiate the people you may trust from those with a questionable character, but still, it has its limit to what you can relate to it that can scare you. I wonder why you even believe that his tag has anything to do with what he says on this thread, they do not have corrections because it is not about monetary dealing but giving information and how he feels about the news. Every user is entitled to this and what he hinted is not hidden information, we all know that Stake is currently undergoing KYC overhauling with a $250 bonus attached to it as an encouragement and to show how generous they are.

For my friend the emails started with offers of 50$. They already did it beginning of the year but he said it's not worth it. Then in September he got the 50$ offer again, like many other players did. After that it became 100$ and finally 250$. He still chose not to verify but once they said it's gonna be mandatory from January he finally did it and also got the 250$ bonus.
Sure not everybody likes it and people want to keep their privacy, makes total sense. But license stuff and domestic regulations these days change so quickly, it's only a matter of time until all or at least most of the big sites might take the same route, this wouldn't surprise me.

There is no way you can escape KYC from a centralised casino that is government regulated. In your case, you are lucky you received a bonus to be activated after a successful completion of your KYC. I believe the deadline given by the casino stands hence their bonus for your speedy actions but however, if you feel your privacy would be breached, then you can simply leave them.

Oh, so he's been using Stake for 4 years; it’s only right he gets a bonus, like a loyalty reward. But yeah, he needs to do KYC, and we know some gamblers don’t like that. So, it’s up to him if he’s willing to give up a bit of privacy for that bonus. At the end of the day, Stake is still a regulated casino, so KYC is a basic requirement for gamblers.

Obviously, he would need to undergo his KYC if he really wants to continue with the casino irrespective of the fact that he has been with the casino for years without him being informed of it. Maybe they upgraded their policy of lately and as such would like all their members to do so accordingly as the case may be. As a casino being regulated by the government, they would need to act in accordance to the laws of the jurisdiction where they operate so that their business would be safe and this is the reason why they must have request of OP to do his KYC and also rewarding OP with KYC bonus of a successful KYC completion.

To each their own when it is about choosing services to gamble out money, I am just tired of people promoting and advertising Web3 casinos as completely decentralized when in reality, the owner of those casinos could.easily withdraw all deposits from smart contracts with a single transaction with their priviledged private keys.
So gullible people walk into those small and shady casinos being fooled on the alledged complete control they have other their wager, when in reality it is all an illusion, just part of the advertisement for the website and the Decentralized app within the main network id Ethereum or other alternative currency Blockchain.

It's unbelievable actually, this is why I personally have always preferred centralized casinos over the so called decentralized casinos, and this because the Decentralized casino market is pretty much still very young, and at the very beginning like this, it's hard to find genuine businesses as it regards to decentralized casino, naturally, man loves to have some level of control over what ever he or she built, and it will take a good level of maturity and self discipline to come across someone who would build a decentralized casino without any malicious code in it, and give up completely, that is having to access to the smart contract wallet where the funds for payment of wins are stored.

Better to stick with a well known and trusted centralized casinos with a long history of proven track record, than risk my money on a decentralized casino that is no where near decentralized.

SX.Bet, Dexsport.io etc are some off the top of my head. Do your own research and find out more yourself since there are plenty of legit options.
Many people do not know what decentralization is. Let me quote one of the meaning of decentralization below.

Quote
the transfer of control of an activity or organization to several local offices or authorities rather than one single one.
"efforts to promote decentralization and reform of the national political party"

Profit that would be made can not make this possible for a gambling site. What are truly centralized like bitcoin network and tor are not common. Web3 that most of you think that is decentralized are not.

You would be surprised how centralized those so-called Web3 casinos actually are. Sure, they can use decentralized smart contracts but those smart contracts are programed with a little back-door in case they suffer from a bug and the money is at risk of getting stolen or frozen within the smart contract. The owners of the casinos can use their set of private cryptographic keys to withdraw the the balance from the casino if they see it is the proper thing to do, in the same way centralized casinos like Stake have control over our money once we deposit it to their addressed.
Thanks for the information. Learnt some useful stuff which I wasn't really aware of before. Point is that there is no 100% decentralised site, but there are several reputed ones which are more decentralised when compared to centralised sites like Stake etc.

Let me repeat myself again. If you think there are decentralized gambling sites, you can list some of them on this thread and quote me to let me know them. Even if it is just only one gambling site that you know to be decentralized, what is its name?

Does anyone know if we can use the affiliate program without KYC?

There’s no written requirement for joining their affiliate program, but it’s still better to be prepared for KYC since it’s a basic legal rule...if you’re earning, you’re subject to income tax, which means you can’t stay anonymous for tax authorities to identify those who owe taxes.

Here are their terms for the affiliate program.

If this one turns out to be optional then it will really be that just depending on you whether you do need to verify on level 2 but usually on this case on which if a certain gambler do hit up some
threshold in terms of withdrawal amounts then they would really be asked out for some other verification which might involved further more documents or something like this but actually
it will really be that just depending on you whether you do verify or not, but if this one isnt compulsory then i dont see a reason that you will really be that having some issue with it
as you can be able to continously able to play with the site.

Skip the bonus and keep gambling anonymous and also loose the account in early next next 2025, for if I understand correctly, Stake is trying to get all her users to verify their account before January next year which is just a few weeks away..
So, if cryptowoman will prefer his or her privacy over just submitting a piece of laminated paper, or a card, over his account, then there is no reason going on with the kyc verification, he or she can just continue to play till maybe December 31st, maybe by then, stake will provide him or her two options, either submit your document for kyc verification, or withdraw your funds and have your account closed forever.

I didn’t know they were that strict now. I thought it was fine to gamble without KYC as long as you’re not betting huge amounts. I have an account there but don’t use it consistently, so I didn’t feel the changes, and I haven’t received any emails about it - probably just missed it. Well, in this case, it seems OP has no choice but to comply with KYC, or else they risk losing their whole account. I’m pretty sure other sportsbooks and casinos are also requiring KYC now, as regulators are getting stricter with this basic requirement.
