There is also an alternative point of view or just a coincidence that before the event, $20ml USDT was withdrawn from the purse associated with the Stake.

Watcher.guru is reporting that Stake was hacked for $41,300,000 worth of crypto. Is this true? Will it have any effect on operations or is 40 million dollars chump change? Hopefully this won’t have any effect on growth plans for Kick. That’s a pretty big loss, but I’m assuming Stake has the money to cover it at this time.

Twitter exploded in one moment, I saw news tweets about this hack from many people. They started with $14 million, but that number continued to grow with new tweets. But I don't think we need to worry about this. They have money to cover it at this or any other time I guess. And it's probably someone from the inside, I think they will catch them soon.

Stake representative usually don't hang out here most of the time even on normal days. Yeah, Stake silence is surprising since the news is already spread in the internet. Maybe they want to minimize the damage before they release official statement since this will cause panic among their existing players.

The level of betting activity on Stake is still normal though. Maybe some players is still not informed about this issue.

According to Stake support. They aren't experienced hack. I dunno what to believe now. Cheesy

It's already confirmed on their official twitter page: https://twitter.com/Stake/status/1698746766076588057

Warning! There is a scam twitter page that also has Yellow Badge, posts at Stake's official twitter post and is also getting a lot of reposts and likes. This is the page I'm talking about: StakeAlerts. Please, don't fall into this trap, these is a fake/scam page, refund-stake.com is a phishing website, only follow the Official Stake Twitter. According to official Stake, user funds are safe!
It's very sad to see this lose, hope they'll be able to figure out what happened and get their money back.

Phew. That's an awful hit.

I'm sure we're all eager to hear for an official announcement regarding how it happened. A matter of employee access controls failing, a software failure or something else? That's for sure a large amount to keep out of cold storage anyway.

EDIT: Seeing a reply from Eddie on Twitter, it does look like even a $40 million loss is considered a small portion of reserves. Still, begs the question what happened if it's something others can learn from.

If the numbers are right, that is a huge loss for a casino. But stake is quite big operating in large numbers as well.
So I think, this won't have a big impact on their operations. But of course, a loss is a loss.
For a small casino, this amount of loss will probably end their existence in this industry.
If they are having such amount in their hot wallets, what's more in their cold wallets?
But definitely, this unexpected event will remind them of their security features, so let's see how they will act on this situation.

They have halted transactions on some networks, so it's possible that they are already looking into it. $40 million in hot wallet is no joke, assuming that it's only concerning polygon, ETH, USDT, and USDC without BTC included. That's something to really look at. If Stake is handling this big of an amount in hot wallet, I can't even imagine how much is inside their vaults.

They are probably after the hacker right now, and are checking other avenues to which they can be attacked. It's a huge blow for Stake, but perhaps not something that can render them non-operational.

It seems it has already been confirmed on Twitter, by the way.
Sure this seems to be a very big blow for a casino or even an exchange, but this is not the first time a big service has suffered something like this, I am quite sure Stake has the resources to control de damages caused by this and move on. Who knows, they may even try to go after whoevers is behing this theft, that quatity is worth it.

Hoping to read more information about this incident, even if it is unlikely to happen, some good news could come.
May this help Stake and other casinos to further enhance their protection against internet thieves.

Read a post in the telegram group about a USD 41m hack on stake.com. I checked this thread and there was no information from the team. Likewise through X, there is no post stating that Stake.com has been hacked. Maybe, it was done for the transfer of user assets, but account X @WatcherGuru considers it a hack. If it's being hacked, there should be valid news from the team. If the team doesn't provide an update, it looks like this is just a misunderstanding.

While there have been some articles that came out first about the incident, I'd wait for the announcement of the official stake social media accounts and representatives.

If the team doesn't provide an update, it looks like this is just a misunderstanding.
They're going to give an update as they've announced the maintenance of specific cryptos ETH, USDT, and ERC20 through their telegram. But I hope that everything is fine.

You're from Indonesia

We are from the same country, we all know wagering for more than 100,000$ is really crazy, especially with our currency. So crazy to see you can reached out that number while you are maybe betting with a bankroll around only a hundred dollars each of your gambling-mode.

Well, just hoping we got a good number monthly september ~XD

I think you and @Panjul are the ones who can reach at least more than 5000 since I know you are high roller & @Panjul are good player who can collect wagering with a small money.

As I said previously, I wagered less after the 1st monthly bonus on August because I lost both my VIP top monthly bonus as well as the monthly bonus quickly.
3 hours left for the 10m race and my position is now at 8400+  Grin with around 100k wager.
I wagered more than 50k in the first week of the race (exactly after the 1st monthly bonus) but I wagered less after I lost the bonus, proven by my currect total wager which is only 100k
It means that I wagered the other 50k in the last 3 weeks  Cheesy, It is simply because I dont want to force myself to wager just for the race.

[Over $3,000] Slots Forum Challenge | Week 5

Win a bet with 40x or higher multipliers on slot DJ Psycho.
Minimum bet is 20c (0.20 USD). Any bets that are on the fun play/with nothing staked will not count.

Giveaway's Topic: https://stakecommunity.com/topic/77739-over-3000-slots-forum-challenge-week-5/

This one took a long time to get that 40x, more than an hour probably, but the slot itself is fun to play, it has some nice animations and pictures

so it was definitely worth the time. I mean, I had a good time playing this slot by Nolimit City.

And with some luck and "Psycho Spinz"

I finally made it.

Overall, slots by Nolimit City are ones of my favorite. How about you, guys?

To add to the discussion about the recent messages received inregards to the warnings about potential scams going around lately, it was due to a competing crypto casino offering their own casino based altcoin.
And they were trying to capitalize on their success with trying to say that they have one available now and to click a link.
Seen these direct messaged posts on X yesterday (posted from an *.eth old twitter account back on August 31st) but since deleted them because seen the warning posted by stake on their account that same day.

Just noticed the month long race is coming to an end in about 5 hours.
And seen this post on X in response to Kevin's post about 1st place has over 700 million wagered and if you want to beat them you can try.
https://twitter.com/GambolJo/status/1697221462451511343

Last time I looked they were up to 900 million nearing 1 trillion.
If you wanted to get a place enough to receive anything you needed close to $150k wagered to do so.

Only have about $49,500 and no where near to placing high enough for a part of the prize pool.
At 17,794 place and not pursuing anymore wagering for this is far from the 5000 top places to get anything.

I said the fact that now there is not 1 amount for everybody, if you are inactive you get amount x, if you are active you get amount xx.
Before the change, EVERYBODY on the same level got the same amount, active or not.
How they are judging the activity and inactivity of an account? I have received $10 only from the last two post-monthly bonus despite making deposits. I have lost most of my deposits there in the last few months. But I wasn't able to wager anything significant as I lost the deposits quickly always.

I want to confirm that I was getting the same amount like other platinum III rank user before the changes were made. Although, there used to be little difference ($2 to $3) occasionally, but now the difference is quite big.

Well there is still no formula for that.
My guess is when you wager around 3k in 1 month you are eligible for a full monthly bonus and at least for 1 week a full weekly (if those 3k were made in 1 week.

That's only by my observation using my inactive account.

But with stake you never know since for unknown reasons they make such a big secret out of it. I guess it's because so they can shrink the bonuses from time to time without players knwoing whats going on.  Roll Eyes

@AHOYBRAUSE it’s clear by now that Stake doesn’t wishes to reveal this formula maybe for the fear that player’s will try and abuse it for more bonus hence it’s pointless to even calculate it. Lastly even if if by some luck someone discovers it Stake will never agree or even deny that’s the formula thus it’s making no sense to invest time in cracking this formula at-least that’s what I personally feel.

I think Eddie gave a short explanation a while ago... where he said that a base amount are paid per VIP rank and then also based on what you played and how much you played. The Stake original games count the least towards the bonus and then the 3rd party slots and then the Sports betting counting the most.

They are not giving the exact formula, because they do not want players only to play the games that count the most towards wagering. (It is structured in a way that if you lose more, you get a bigger bonus.... but just slightly)  Roll Eyes

I don't think the formula has changed much honestly as I wagered last week more than 7000 dollars, lost about 80 dollars in 3 deposits which in wagered were 7000 as I said and I got the weekly just near 8 dollars.I have done the same many times before the new formula was introduced and the same amount I was awarded no matter if I lost or won money.

I wonder how can sport betting counting the most as usually people play a lot more in slot machines,be it in time and in money spent so yeah most probably the third party slots are the best regarding such bonuses.

Also that twitter account was @Stake_fi not from @stake. That account doesn't exist anymore, i guess twitter acted fast as they should on these cases. I am not sure how you got that to your feed but always check the smaller @twitterusername not only the larget name over it. And obviously urls, like you did.
Yeah, that's what those scammers are trying to do, they're copying stake but they're not far from the official name of stake. They just add stake on it and sadly, there are gullible people that also knew what stake is and then don't check the entire detail so they might fall for that.
As long as those fake accounts are reported, I think that X/Twitter is taking actions on it immediately.

Actually it was not on my feed, I knew it from a friend who asked me about Stake Coin/token and he gave me the link to that tweet so I checked it myself then I asked about it here because I feel that it is something suspicious. Great to see that Stake confirmed it fast although maybe that tweet might have been alive for around hours  and many people might have read it or maybe clicked the link. Hopefully no one is trapped/scammed.
