Good news:

After fixing some problems, 3 of the 5 TerraMiner units in Bozeman are hashing, and all 3 of the HashFast units are hashing also. You should see quite the spike in Cognitive hash rate.

Actually I was mistaken. 5 TerraMiner units and 3 HashFast units are hashing.

Always verify deals with me through my public key!
Thanks for the info, I was suspecting access to the GAuth QR code somehow.

Considering your GAuth was compromised, you might want to share the nature of the hack for others ability to protect themselves.

It was a combination of a hack against my Google Apps for Business account, and a feature that Havelock has since removed that allowed you to view your GAuth QR code once you were logged in without having to re-enter a 2FA code.

Nope, I had around 230 shares, and someone hacked into my Havelock account, sold all of my shares, and then withdrew around 10 BTC.

This is very unfortunate and frustrating news. I hope that everyone checks to make sure that both 2-Factor Authentication and country based IP locking are enabled on their account. It would also be a good idea to ensure that your password is something you don't use for anything else.

Guybrush01, you have Cognitive's sympathy and support.

Lets all try and prevent something like this from happening again.

Just a heads up for everyone.  I worked with Havelock, and we figured out how the hack occurred.  And they went out of their way to make things right.  I know that doesn't help the share price, but at least the exchange is trustworthy and willing to do the right thing.

You couldn't make this made-up drama, up.

If i was to become a shareholder, can someone explain to me how to view the CEO, as someone who actually knows how to blow his nose correctly?
Moreover, is someone going to actually have a word in Garr's ear, and politely explain that there are people watching, that have lived 100 more lives than him, and can spot a bullshiting amutuer a mile off.

Post Gox.....enough of these opaque operations, already.

I own some shares of cognitive, but I have nothing positive to say about Garret. To give you a glimpse of how I feel, this is how he ran a group buy that I took part of:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bfl-chips-group-purchase-100-chips-ordered-6162013-235595

I would like the share price to come up a bit so I can at least sell off without too much of a loss.... but it seems that this is just how Garret makes a habit of managing his affairs. I believe Garret is not anything but an amateur in this game.

Oh man, I'm sorry, that sucks dude =(  If it is havelock's fault, they should reimburse you.  Have you done forensics to determine if there is any malware on your phone/machines with access to the google auth seed?

Thanks for the smooth transition & clarification of the current status.
Good luck with the setup!

Edit: I do agree with above posts though.

Yeah. We're so rich now that we take 6 TH of miners offline for a week... ish? Oh, and the scrypt miners too. What the heck.

Nighty Night Don't Let The Trolls Bite Nom Nom Nom

Thus far, 8 CoinTerra units have arrived. 7 more will have been shipped and on their way within 24 hours.
Of those 8 units, 3 are in WA (not hashing) and 5 are here in Bozeman.
Of those 5, 1 is only hashing at half capacity, and another isn't working at all.

We are working to get units fixed/hashing ASAP. This is our number one priority.

The new facility in Washington is perfect for all of our hashing needs, however unfortunately we can't set up hardware there for about a week. Until then, Garrett hopes to have the 3 CT units set up and hashing in an alternative location by tomorrow night.

The situation is not ideal, but we are making the best of it.

This is absolute insanity and mismanagement. Why would Garr send all the functioning units to WA to be set up next week?
If he would not have them set up until next week he should not have sent them to WA until monday *cough* after difficulty change *cough*

The none fuctional unit should have been sent also, stupid decisions like that are going to be costly int he long run.

Yep, I had Google Authenticator enabled.  Which makes me wonder how secure Google Authenticator seeds are stored at havelock.
Also, I didn't have country based ip locking enabled, which was stupid, and means that they could have used Tor without any issue.

This is really strange. I don't think you can get Google Authenticator seeds so easily.
You must have a keyloger or it could be a man-in-the-middle attack.
Please provide us more information about what happened.

Everyone check if you have this enabled :

So we have been down to around 2ths for about 24hrs. I am assuming this is so you can move them, if this is the case why are we moving them when there time is most valuable and not in a few weeks losing a day now can be like losing a week in a month.

Here is an update on the current status of all of our hardware:

How many KH/s did we get for 10btc??

The sCrypt hardware included four 270x’s and two 7950’s, which add up to approximately 1.2 MH/s.

The sCrypt miners are not hashing right now because all of our power is being used by the CT hardware. As soon as the CT hardware is shipped to WA the sCrypt miners will resume hashing. It may take several months of hashing, but the hardware will likely pay for itself.

Last of all, I'd like to point to everybody who voted "yes" to put up scrypt mining equipment... 10 btc paid for only a measly 1.04 btc return in almost 3 months... what a waste.

Also, where is the GPU rig mining at ?

Another victim.   Angry   The sooner havelock gets their shit together and locks accounts to designated BCT withdrawal addresses the better. This could also include an option whereby share transfers to other accounts over a user designated quantity must be authorised by signing that address.

These simple features would put an end to this sort of crap.

post your story on the havelock thread name and shame.
