Now that it looks like we are on the verge of a new crypto bull run, does anybody of you expect Stellar to join the ride?

No..  Too much issues and a possible pending lawsuit on Jed McCaleb.

This is all true (Jed taken off the board at Stellar and may have to forfeit XRP's )but STR will still follow and increase if the others do.  However, I still only have around the 6k given from the start.

I really hope that Stellar can be more active and be faster integrated into payment gateways.

OK so maybe stupid question, but I was checking on some data and it appears that there are two coins flying under the STR flag?  It makes data collection confusing lol.

two coins? really? I think it is just the coin and the protocol...

He might mean star coin which also uses the STR ticker.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/star-coin-str-the-coin-with-bonus-star-blocks-259012

Some exchanges use tickers rather than coin names in their market lists which can get confusing. Cryptsy still has a star coin market which is shown in its BTC market list using the STR ticker.

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/STR_BTC

Star coin launched in 2013 and stellar launched in 2014 so star coin claimed the ticker first.

Another update for developers: Stellar has just unveiled a developer preview of the new Stellar open web application ecosystem: Interstellar Module System (IMS). Read more about how to use it, the design decisions behind it, and what you can build: https://www.stellar.org/blog/developer-preview-interstellar-module-system/

Lot of talk but little action by the look of things...any update on the connectivity problems stellar has experienced?

Stellar's been up to a few things:

-test net client demo built with JS: https://jsfiddle.net/stellardev/rxsd1fd0/
-new Stellar Go library: https://github.com/stellar/go-stellar-base
-why multi-sig matters on Stellar: http://pollen23.com/pass-it-pass-it/
-check irc #stellar-dev and #stellar for day to day updates on what SDF and the Stellar community are working on (or slack.stellar.org)

In terms of the connectivity problems, they should be resolved now. It's just related to the same reasons we're working on a more scalable, stable network (which should be live sometime this summer). Feel free to hop on our dev IRC (#stellar-dev) for more technical details about it. https://www.stellar.org/blog/stellar-consensus-protocol-proof-code/.

Are Stellar invites still worth anything?

I have one sitting in my account.

dunno...I have two as well

Are Stellar invites still worth anything?

I have one sitting in my account.
i don't know if we can get str off invite code now, if we can get str from invite code on other account then yes they're worth some str/btc.

I'll invite someone and see if I and they receive any stellars, although I don't think they'll approve the FB, they'll most probably think it's a fake account.

When are they going to start the blockchain based distribution?

It's quiet around here...  Any updates?

@tokeweed Hey, I'm the Stellar community manager  Smiley

Yes! Joyce (cofounder, executive director) just spoke at a United Nations conference on how digital currency can help with remittances worldwide:

We have a choice: we can allow fees to remain high, effectively serving as a tax on migrants who send money home. Or we can reduce the cost of remittances and put billions of dollars back into the pockets of the world’s poorest, catalyzing further economic growth.

With Stellar as the world’s universal network, we could connect the world’s 180 currencies in two to five seconds, reducing the transaction fees and transfer delays associated with cross-border payments and removing obstacles that prevent people from independently improving their lives.

Stellar still alive?  ripple suffered a huge drop recently but its still regularly in the news good or bad, where has stellar been throughout this?   Its mentioned above cryptsy might add it but if that ever happens by that the original STR could be trading 1:1 with Stellar as the price gets driven down from lack of interest.  Undecided
