Yeah, it's best to gamble with your most convenient time so that you'd be able to enjoy and taste every cent that you're spending as you do it. But if money isn't a problem to you and you just want to spend sometime gambling quickly then that's you.

Unlike us, we have to gamble in such a comfortable time so that we have the time to think and then we can't just ignore to have fun because that's the sense of gambling for the majority of us.

We gamble for some profits but mostly, to have fun.
Choosing the most convenient and enjoyable time to engage in the activity is a wise act of gamblers. Indeed, the experience of gambling can vary greatly depending on factors such as timing, mood, and personal circumstances. Gambling serves as a form of entertainment and relaxation that provides an opportunity to unwind and enjoy some leisure time. Selecting a time when they feel most comfortable and relaxed can fully immerse themselves in the experience and savor every moment of it.

Taking the time to gamble when you feel mentally prepared and able to think clearly can enhance the enjoyment of the activity. Being able to make rational decisions and fully engage with the game can contribute to a more positive and fulfilling gambling experience. Some may prefer to gamble quickly or impulsively, and others may derive greater satisfaction from taking their time and savoring the experience. The choice of when and how to gamble is a personal one, and what matters most is that individuals approach the activity with mindfulness and moderation, ensuring that it remains a source of enjoyment rather than a source of stress or hardship.
Those that prefer to gamble quickly, they are the ones that have not that much time like OP has said. They are busy people but still want to jive in to gambling because they want to still do their thing that's related to their bets.

It can't be stopped but soon they will realize that when they've been hitting their losing streaks, that's how they're going to change their thoughts about gambling quickly.

They'll start to take their time and for them to get the most out of their money and time. No one has to rush when they're gambling unless you've been given some challenge that has pocket and time limit.

Not only gambling or lack of free time, but the alluring dance of immediate gratification vs long-term well-being. Work, gambling, sleep, repeat; you were trapped. And for what? A brief pleasure at the expense of your health and cash. You witnessed the harm

Gambling into a busy schedule is like pouring water into an overloaded cup. It wrecks, not just spills. You discovered the physical and mental toll of this imbalance

Your solution? Limit play to weekends. Sounds reasonable, but it's a bullet wound bandage. The problem is why you gamble, not when. Face the fact that gambling, especially when it's consuming your relaxation and work life, is a symptom of a greater problem. Swallowing it is hard, but it's the first step toward real transformation

You don't need to gamble every night. If you are busy with you jobs and other activities in real life, you can stop gamble temporarily. Just plan to gamble whenever you have free time. If you are forcing your life to gamble every night and you become have lack of sleep and rest time, it will harm your body. I can understand if you feel sleepy and lack of energy when you do your jobs. If you continue it, someday you get a serious illness.

Sure, your decision to gamble in the weekend is the right decision. In this way, you can focus on gambling and you won't have lack of energy when you do your daily job. This is also the way to avoid an excessive gambling that may lead to an addiction. Just stay with a healthy way in gambling, dude!

Your experience is simply telling us that you are addicted. You spend too much time every day and it makes you lose of focus on your work in the next day, that's a bad sign already. Actually gambling after work is fine but you should not spend too long time which make you lose your resting time after work. I would even prefer to say that gambling should not be scheduled, it is better to gamble when we have both free time and money as well as enough energy. Good thing that you realized your mistake and you have changed your habit. Experience is always a lesson for ourselves as well as for others if we share it.
Addiction can be difficult to notice, and it is sometimes only when we reflect on our conduct that we can understand how it has severely impacted our lives. It's important to recognize the indicators of addiction, such as devoting too much time or money to gambling, ignoring other duties, or experiencing an overwhelming need to gamble. If we start to recognize these indications, we must take action to improve our behavior. I believe it is pretty gutsy for a gambler to acknowledge his errors and make a positive adjustment.
Reflecting and thinking about our behavior is just a case of gambling not being deeply rooted in the soul, a certain amount of sanity is still maintained but once the roots have been contaminated from the inside, it is something that cannot be let go. Free time or busy time, somewhere addicts still look for a space, even abandon their busyness and engage in gambling behavior, many people can admit their mistakes and are aware of this bad work, but they cannot correct it with personal effort alone, they need more pressure for this.

I have mentioned it in other posts, the point is that even diet and exercise should be included, really for any activity you dedicate yourself to, but if you are going to place bets as a form of serious income, I am not saying professional, it is priority should be given to rest, exercise and good nutrition.

Losing money and having a short rest time at the same time is a very bad experience.
Aside from not spending your must allocated time to gamble, gambling without having enough rest is also like going to work that you're not in full force and rest. I'm not comparing gambling and work but I am just comparing the state of being when someone does that when he's not having enough sleep. And that's why it's truly a bad experience when someone on that state gets to gamble and he's surely going to lose money and much better that he just take his rest and sleep than going to gamble and lose that bankroll.

In real sense, there's actually no free time for anyone, you can just create time for things base on your preference and priority. If gambling is one of them, you make time for it. The important thing is for you to spend your time wisely.
Hmmm, I somehow disagree. All of us have their own free time and it's just the matter on how we're going to take care of it and spend that free time that we have. But I agree about making time for things that we do like gambling, if you have other important matters to attend and your only option is either doing that or gambling then make sure that gambling won't affect your other affairs with that because if so, then that's another sign that you're already addicted to gambling.

Indeed gambling is something that can cause some issues and also it can be a big time sink, even to those that manage their finances well.

For example you can play blackjack strategies for hours on end, even if you play with 0.5$ bets at a time. Maybe even in the worst case scenario your losses won't be ruinous. But the thing is also that wasting your time trying to develop a strategy or observe gambling results over time can have an impact in your life as well in other ways that can have severe effects like in relationships, personal life, jobs etc. If this starts affecting your life then you might end up deeper in the hole getting actually addicted in a way that can ruin your finances too.

Gambling is like a video game, player don't easily drop the console on an serious mission. Some online gamblers are video gamers, and they see gambling is a way of getting reward for their time. When time is a luxury a gambler can play for how long he wishes, but in the middle of an event, gambling will be a wrong choice. I've watched many addicts who can't control their need to gamble. They spend time looking out for means of multiplying funds with gambling. Players do this because they've seen it work. Not minding how much profits has been made. The single prove that they can earn in gambling, clouds the player's mind to continuously participate in gambling. However, those thoughts are not easily erased and most people still stick to squeezing out time to gamble.

Since the gambler is not quite in a good position to gamble, he only wagers money carelessly, without calculating, hoping on luck. Gambling requires luck with lots of concentration. Don't know why you mentioned that those who observe the gambling machine will get affected. It seems to me as an excellent gambling habit, to observe and understand how the slot machines work in providing results to gamblers. Every gambler also need a strategy to stay in control of his game. I don't think it's a waste of time, if you understand it accurately. Gamblers learn through it and even perform better in critical thinking during work hours. Could be you have a different perspective on this matter.

Time flies when your on the table or in front of a machine. The only thing that's only faster than time is you quickly losing your bankroll for the night. I bet you'll be forced to go home before midnight if that happens. The problem is that you'll probably still suffer tiredness from lack of sleep since you were thinking of the money gone in an instant hehe.

You would really be able to notice when its already too late on which this is something a very common in most gamblers when it comes to this kind condition specially with gambling.
Gambling is really that highly addictive and if you are that someone whose really that a greedy type of person then it would really be just not that shocking that you would really be ending up on this way.
We've seen the worst with those gambling addicts and this is something that you couldnt possibly be able to see and its impossible that you wont really be that wary about these probabilities.
It is really just that there are those people who do neglect out those risks and would really be focusing on what into those things that they do have in mind.

THey wont really be stopping not until they would really be able to satisfy themselves when it comes to gambling or entertainment leisure.

This is what happens when you are addicted to it, to recover from this solution did you made any extra effort like medications and therapy sessions or you recovered just by making lifestyle changes or in worst case you continue to be same but realised this is wrong and giving warning to others?

Most of the time we get addicted to something without even knowing that and we came to realise when it's too late by that time we may be in a place there is no looking back.

I don't think @OP is addicted to gambling, he maybe hooked to playing after working hours and staying late for gambling activity but as we can read, he is able to change his gambling pattern and is able to not use his previous gambling schedule to not get affected in his work.  That is not a sign of gambling addiction, IMO>

There are different levels in addiction, OP realised his addiction in early days so he able recover on its own but in most cases users consider gambling is escaping from their daily stress and something that's bothering who are the one will keep on going and reaches the extreme level of addiction from there it's not possible to go back to complete start is not possible and it need rehabilitation for sure or atleast that's what I saw in every kind of addiction.

The result is I don’t have much energy at work due to insufficient sleep and I lose funds on gambling because I keep playing quick due to my limited time. The effect is very disadvantageous to me since I both lose in these situations. This is the reason why I change my gambling pattern significantly that limit me to play only during weekends when I don’t have job tomorrow.

This is an advice based on my experience, don’t ever insert gambling on your schedule if you really don’t have free time for it because it will always result to disaster in both gambling and your life.

Just like the first reply under this thread, I perceived addiction too and you already admitted t it but it's good you realize it in time and change your gambling pattern. Gambling is all about having fun at your leisure or designated time but this fun should not be detrimental to your other schedules or somehow interfere with your working schedules. No one gives you a deadline to meet up with while gambling, there's no need to rush or keep late night gambling that will result to shortage of sleep. I don't know the nature of your work but I believe there's a time for break or shift over, you can gamble during that period if you think it is necessary for you to gamble.

Losing money and having a short rest time at the same time is a very bad experience. In real sense, there's actually no free time for anyone, you can just create time for things base on your preference and priority. If gambling is one of them, you make time for it. OP, changing your betting pattern to be weekends only, not as usual at night after work. Will it limit you from spending too much on gambling because you will still be losing on gambling at weekends? What I see you do is like someone who only reduces their engagement in gambling but doesn't map out a limited amount to spend on gambling each weekend.

Choosing to gamble on weekends doesn't change the fact of you spending the amount you can't afford to lose on gambling sites. Don't you so? there is a possibility of you spending more per weekend.

For this weekend's betting pattern on weekends to work out for you, I have a said amount you will be bringing out to gamble every weekend rather than only choosing weekends to gamble because you find it to be your free time.
What make me to gamble more on weekends is because on weekends there are several sport events most especially football because majority of the top clubs match are fixed in weekends and for that I can bet on them, on week day leagues may not be too actives and the best clubs may be playing on other tournaments which will limit the weekdays fixing.

So I weekends mostly on Sundays I make alot of bets although still within my set limits for that week, and I won't exit a second when my gambling tume is up, regardless of if a win or lose  I just walk away.

I’m always a victim of this mistake before when I’m still allure on online casino. I keep playing every night after work. I always play until midnight which makes me consume most of my rest time for my job preparation tomorrow.

The result is I don’t have much energy at work due to insufficient sleep and I lose funds on gambling because I keep playing quick due to my limited time. That's a common mistake made by gamblers who enjoy the game too much. Whether it's with big or small bets, when the game you play takes up your time, it's a loss. especially if you add to it you experience defeat. it's a double loss.
I don't know whether you limit your capital or not. but playing in a casino all night for a long time can cost you a lot of money if you are unlucky.

Thank you for sharing, your experience can be a lesson for other gamblers in paying attention to healthier playing times.

In short, there is no time to do your own analysis before placing any bets, there is also no way for you to enjoy the match or the game you place bet on, you should not be gambling for real, because you aren't gaining anything.

No time for fun, no time for analysis, and you are also ruining your health too, its not even about how many times you have lost money, it's about how soinconvenientt gambling has become for you and how thats also affecting your health.

This is very bad, I advise you find away to create time for yourself or do something else as a job so that you will have time, sorry to ask, how are you having time for your children and family then? Because it seems you work all the time.

It would really take sheer will and determination to change your path outside of gambling.
For me, it is fine to bet once in a while, especially if you are betting on your favorite sports, and you
practically know everyone on the team or the league itself.
But if you think, your gambling activities are already hindering your important tasks such as your main job,
better re-assess your situation and prioritize the tasks that you believe have good impact in your life in general.
My thoughts exactly. Sports betting is the key. Wink
Not just as a favorite sport, but if you have a love for the game, it will be easy to identify the possible results of the game. But if we did start gambling with casino games, it would be a different story.
What mostly happens is, that a gambler will bet in sports betting, where he is good at, and then once he wins most of the bets, he will use that capital to play casino games which I believe is unwise. Why? I saw my profits for sports betting just vanish away in casino games. I thought I was just unlucky so I continued and it even took my last capital without any RTP coming out. I told myself that it could be connected. What you win from sports can be taken back in casino games and vice versa also works. Because there's a time I'd been losing in my sports bets and I got pretty lucky in my casino games.
I don't think that is a coincidence.
Regarding free time. Sports betting is not like you need to watch the whole match, just peeking at the scores is enough and our phones could do that by just opening the notification. I mean, it's not like a baby that needs taking care of.

Gambling is not even something that gives you money when you need it the most, why are you killing your health over something that's not guaranteed? It's a game of luck and you need to handle it in such a way.

If gambling is taking so much of your time then there is a game that you love placing bets on, mind sharing that first? If you care only about making some money then go for games that will take a few minutes of your time.

Like betting on UFC fights and football matches, you don't need to watch them, place your bet on one and go sleep, you can check the result later in the day, or the next morning, by the way, do you work on Sundays too? Because there should always be a day off at work.

It is irrational to gamble with the wrong state of mind. When you gamble when you are not supposed to be gambling, you will not get the best out of gambling. Some people leave their jobs during working hours just to go and gamble. Others even gamble when they are feeling sleepy. This used to be my situation. I will be feeling so sleepy yet I will find it difficult to take a break from gambling sleep and I always lose more because what I will be playing at that time will be different from what I intend to play without even knowing. This is not a good sign because gambling requires 100% concentration.

concentration plays a crucial role in determining success or failure in gambling. Concentration will enable gamblers to analyze the situation at hand, consider the odds, and make rational choices based on logic rather than emotions. Without proper concentration, gamblers may act impulsively and this will lead to poor decision-making and ultimately losing more than necessary.

From what I've noticed about your behavior regarding gambling, it seems like you have developed a strong dependency on it, leading you to engage in it even during your scarce moments of rest. This consistent participation, despite adverse outcomes such as losses, indicates a potential addiction. In order to lead a balanced and fulfilling life, it's crucial to organize your daily routines effectively, allocating time for both relaxation and productivity. It's essential to recognize that the time designated for rest should not be predominantly consumed by activities like gambling.

If someone has a gambling addiction or views it as a recreational activity, it's critical to set out time for these activities at certain intervals so as not to interfere with other important activities. It is possible to reduce the hazards connected with excessive gambling and promote a more harmonious lifestyle for individuals by creating an organized timetable that prioritizes various parts of life, such as work and leisure.
