I heard about Stratis because of the .Net angle as I'm a C# dev and did put a bit into the ico.

My interpretation of the video was that NBitcoin is currently a partial port of Bitcoin Core into .Net and that Dorier is bringing that up to be a full node that will target the Bitcoin blockchain and that a fork of that (the code not the chain) will become Stratis.

My understanding is that the maths and crypto that is in core, including the odd kinks, must be replicated but there's no reason that a C# port can't do that same math and broadcast the transaction confirmations and signatures to the Bitcoin blockchain. It does mean that NBitcoin will need choose when to fork whenever their is a fork in core and implement any new feature like segwit too.

From an investors perspective I had some reservations about getting traction for what is essentially a plain altcoin and the questions around marketing so could see why some might get out. At the same time there would be a market for a .Net blockchain platform if 'blockchain' lives up to the business hype.

As for the twitter spam that I also got today, it doesn't give a good impression but anyone likely to know enough to buy any will have enough intelligence to google to find out the truth and will discover that it is a genuine project, so it might help with the pump or it might put them off but anyone genuine will ignore it.

Please note that this cryptocurrency is actively spamming people on Twitter. This is a bearish trend and I suggest avoiding this blockchain.

Newbie account coming to spread more FUD. You should've bought in when the price was lower. The market isn't going to cater to you now.
The reason why you see all those retweets is because someone (maybe socialpumper) is using "theviralexchange" to have more followers and and win some pennies but fortunately it will not last long.

Meh.
None of this changes the fact that someone actively paying to spam a coin is a bearish trend, implies a near future dump. Don't spam me again and I won't FUD up your thread Wink

Read yourself in before shouting something. Stratis is a real project. And yes, there is a Twitter spammer on going, but not being paid by the devs

@socialpumper: Please stop spamming Twitter regarding Stratis, you are negatively effecting our brand and potentially damaging our public image. Take this as a warning

Atleast this guy got me in, started reading this thread and thought its a good project, so I did invest. I do know that people not as familiar and that won't search for this thread (found your website being a bit..dull) might turn away, but those people probably would not have invested anyways.

You threatening FUDing the thread has the same effect as the Stratis team asking a Twitter spammer to stop. None.

You do realise that the devs here dont like it either but there is not much they can do as they cant to censor twitter
Are you implying that just some random STRATIS holder is paying to spam this crypto?

Actually I'm just annoyed I've been spammed on twitter 3 times with the same message over the past like two days. Enjoy your STRATIS, I've never even heard of it before.

My understanding is that a full bitcoin node written in C# based off of NBitcoin will be developed.  They are then going to fork that for Stratis.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.  That's the concept I took away from the interview and previous statements from those developing Stratis.

Check out this recent blog post from Dorier.

Didn't say anything about Stratis. Asked about NBitcoin.

NBitcoin is its own chain in C#, once NBitcoin is developed, it will be forked to Stratis Full Node in C#

No. That is incorrect.

NBitcoin is a .NET framework for Bitcoin.

NStratis is a fork of NBitcoin for Stratis.

The full nodes will be developed in C#.

So you would be able to use your current bitcoins / develop apps with the NBitcoin Node? if that's so you'd be correct, otherwise I don't think that's the case here. It's completely independent of the current Bitcoin Core. But i'm waiting to see if krushang or any of the devs write up something here for some clarification.

NBitcoin is a framework for .NET developers, it is not a full node.

The Bitcoin/Stratis full nodes will be developed in C#.

NBitcoin is Bitcoin Core in C#, so I'm not disagreeing with you about the .net framework, but i do disagree that it may not be a full node, which would be completely separate from the current bitcoin chain, if they developed it as such.  Bitcoin BC = cpp, NBitcoin BC = C#, so unless there's gonna be a conversion tool for moving your bitcoins from the current chain to the new one, it's gonna be two separate and independent networks/tokens, as far as I can see.

As I said, I'm waiting to see what the dev team says about this so it's official.

Those bailing out now have no idea that this actually is the NEXT Bitcoin with more use than trading on an exchange and some use with merchant products, this is world-wide corporate business applications, that Bitcoin has FAILED in entering.

What Satoshi is to Bitcoin,  Trew/Dorier is to Stratis/NBitcoin

1$?? you think too small , more like goodbye moon! Bitcoin going out of our galaxy Smiley

Look Stratis has huge potential but there's no need for that kind of hype, the project is still in its early days of development. Now with that being said, if NBitcoin is succesfully developed it will become a huge asset for the Bitcoin blockchain and that can only bring value to the Stratis project and developers.
