All the time that the price was going down, lots of posts said that Sub is a scam, no product, fake, etc.
And now the price is going back up, and I don't hear anyone anymore??

Yeah its starting to take off, once takes are out of the way everyone can start focusing on crypto again, seems like this happens every year. But once this cycle is over I would say get ready for a large bull run. Substratum is a great crypto to be in during this run because it has alot of upside still to go.

I have become interested in this project, but seeing a lot of questions go unanswered in an official ANN channel is not not encouraging.

Hello I have question for substratum engineers.
Heare in russia we have Dmitry Bogatow case. In wich Bogatow was found guilty by Russian curt for call to violence against russian goverment via internet. But in fact Bogatov just provide his personal computer as a node for Tor network. And Its happened because somebody else used Bogatov IP to access to the internet to publick this outlow call. So my concern is would it be possible for some special agent to track down person how is running the node on substratum network? Thank in advance.

it seems they havent updated their roadmap on their website.

Last milestone from december 2017.  How's substratum doing lately?

They have completed private beta test and beta testers report everything ran smoothly.
public beta test and open source code release is the next stage

demo vid 0f v0.0.2 --->   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6Dpqc6wQFI&feature=youtu.be

check the twitter feeds

I asked a question about it two pages before and got no answer. So personally I don't consider this video as a proof.

Please click the NEWS link on the website to get updated information about substratum
do not rely on updates being relayed to Bitcointalk

Check the buy volumes on coinigy on the 3 day chart....its massively higher than a lot of other alts. That tells me theres massive accumulation for this tech happening behind the scenes and without anyone knowing. You can do that using clever limit orders to accumulate without affecting price. When a price is affected, its normally many people buying at the market rate and causing the price to surge

This tells me there must be a lot of firepower looking at this and its going to explode down the line

Can anyone tell me or guide me where  I can read how substratum is different from Tor?

The difference is the Substratum exit nodes are indistinguishable by the website, Tor exit nodes are recognized by most websites and blocked by some.
The Sub nodes encrypt the data sent so the exit nodes cannot see your information.  Tor exit nodes have all your information available. NSA and hackers use directed tor exit nodes to spy and steal information.
There are products that use the same routing methods substratum uses now but they rely on the trust of a human " a third party auditor " to
ensure your privacy and information is not stored.
Substratum uses the blockchain to ensure privacy and security of your information.

This project will succeed but there are alot of people, corporations and governments that dont want it to. Since this will stymie a country or corporations abilities to censor and collect information on its users or citizens. Also hinders the Cloud Act and Net Neutrality control in the united states.

Also for anyone thinking Substratum is a scam, Remember this coin was sold in the United States.

It is normal for any project that undermines the original interests to be opposed by them. But this cannot stop us from moving forward.

I'm still hoping that Substratum coin get listed on a (at least) mid-size exchange for example  cryptopia can be good. Substratum already has a lot of active community. I still don't understand why the exchanges still ignoring Substratum
It's on Binance ;-)

Never mind. I was thinking about other project. Thanks for correcting me. I'm following few good projects and sometime I got confuse.
Thanks again

There are lots of questions here, but almost no answer. Maybe the community manager should pay a bit more attention to this thread...

Unfortunately, they doesn't give a lot of informations about their work. They are just saying "Hey, it works!", but we cannot say if it's true or if it's false. Nobody know, except them of course.
They are claiming that the next version will be open source for a while, I hope it will be. And soon. It would finally bring a few answers to our questions.

if I want to browse the web on the sub network for free I need to run a node. Right?
To bring an answer (one of the very few questions we can answer...) :
The people browsing on the sub network would do it for free. I guess that you will need a substratum client or something, but you would not need to run a node. The people that runs a node are the ones that hosts the websites.
The sites' providers would pay the nodes to host their websites, not the visitors (like any site on the classical internet, in fact).
