hello ) i am novice here, and have bad English )

ts, today about couple of hours ago we discussed with my friend modern poker clients. my friend told me that everybody who own their poker rooms, making their poker client by themself. i opposite, shure that it is possible to buy already existing soft ) can some body explain me pls who are right? ) ty, hope i explain all correct )

I think SWC was built on old Grid Poker software, and Seals 1.0 was built on Poker Mavens software. Given the number of sites that are skins, I would guess that the majority of poker sites are built on existing software.

This issue has been going on for to long to be laziness on Seals part. Makes you think that they are just buying time before they get hauled down after Micon was taken in. No effort to build, although this was frustrating before the arrest, that it felt like it was being run out of a frat house.
For those with a tech background how hard is this to implement?

Nobody is "going after" whoever is currently running SWC.  The NVDOJ was going after Micon because he was being accused of running a poker site while living in NV.  That's a big no-no.  While technically what SWC is doing is illegal, literally nobody cares about them, as evidenced by the much larger sites that are operating freely doing the same thing.  As long as the people running it don't live in the US, of course, or are stupid enough to go on social media every day blabbing about it.

It would be nice if they came back here tho and gave us any sort of feedback at all.

It WOULD be nice if they had more of a social media presence from a player's point of view, but if they are in the US, it's understandable that they keep a low profile.  I miss what Micon brought to the table, but given what happened to him, it's understandable if others don't wish to stick their necks out.

I wonder how far things like Seals Club House and twitch streams can go in promoting a site that is reluctant to promote themselves.  I'm hopeful that they have a "master plan".  Even if they don't, I haven't lost anything by continuing to play and let others know about SwC.  I've played many hours of enjoyable poker games and met countless characters on a site unlike any other.  From my perspective, just the entertainment value alone is worth it.

I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.
Micon was removed from the process by Nevada.  And I believe that is permanent.

Writing an Android app might not be the "real problem" that needs to be solved.  Writing a browser version might not be the "real problem" that needs to be solved.  They probably exist, in some form, by now.  It appears (from here) to be a bigger issue.
What is that bigger issue then?  If they had a beta, surely they'd say something like "we have a beta".

For those with a tech background how hard is this to implement?

I have  a tech background, and while sure, I admit it would be a huge amount of work for me to do by myself, it doesn't seem at all infeasible to think that even working alone I could have developed some sort of sealswithclubs beta android app after a year and a half.  So it's really hard for me to imagine that anyone is working on it all.

Optimists will imagine that someone is methodically rewriting server code to make this all work well with a few thousand simultaneous players.  Pessimists will imagine that this is as good as it will ever get.

The Windows client software is functioning well at Version 1.0.0.24 with 256-bit AES encryption.  And withdrawals are reliable.

Meanwhile, there is massive "wringing of hands" and "gnashing of teeth" by players at PokerStars over rake increases and other changes, and SwC does not appear to be in any position to benefit from it at all.  No promotion.  No targeted incentive for registered Stars players to try SwC for a few days.

Other opinions are welcome.

Sure, we can all offer opinions, but it's a little annoying that there's simply no comment from them.  Micon promised us alternative clients back in January of 2015.  We're now well into 2016.  There has to be *some* protocol which this windows thingy is using to communicate, it's not *that* hard to write an android app, even a beta one just to get the old players back who feel abandoned by now.

I'm guessing they would need to upgrade their infrastructure to handle a significant influx of new players.

It could be the hardware that cannot handle more players.  It could be the server code.  Large-scale poker clients and servers are supposed to communicate the game state (and occasionally the lobby, etc.) using some very small and efficient tokens sent over the internet.  The internet protocol involves the sending of packets, so lags and other timing aberrations must be gracefully tolerated by the poker system.  There could also be bad guys who deliberately delay the game.

Either hardware or software could be the reason for the apparent inaction by SwC.  If the server code was actually written for Windows! (as the client software is) that might not be very efficient.

Other opinions are welcome.

Think we should start a hunger strike so they know we mean business!

Are they scared of increase in traffic bringing down fed attention again or they just lazy?

The site gets pretty laggy when everyone shows up for the 5k povertyroll on Sundays. I'm guessing they would need to upgrade their infrastructure to handle a significant influx of new players.

If I recall it was laggy back in the day when the players got pushed in numbers,so you may be on to something in that aspect.
Seems so crazy to not upgrade and push the brand though, the hurry up and wait is not working for me anymore. Cheesy

With all of the negative changes that Poker Stars is making lately, I'm really hoping that some smaller sites (SwC in specific) can pick up some of the disenfranchised players that are leaving.  I understand that marketing takes money, but this seems like a great opportunity for some up and coming sites to take advantage of.  The rake is already very low on SwC, but maybe we need a new and exciting promo to capitalize on the situation?  Grow that player pool a bit!

We need a working client for more than one operating system.  God I miss seals.  I doesn't take 1.5 years to put up something, anything.  Please come back SwC.

Yes, from what I remember, if you had a balance in your account on the old site, you only had a short period to withdraw it.  As for the old account username/krill itself, they should be able to be recovered using the above method.  I had also see on several occasions that if the reset code method didn't work, you could write to support and recover the account (but only if you did indeed have an e-mail address attached to it).  Writing to support was also the only way to recover multiple accounts tied to the same e-mail address.

Yeah, that's right.

Are all accounts lost now from the old site?
Attached a email to a few but I recall thus would only be reserved for a short stint. Just curious if our accounts are still there for those waiting on a new platform.

Hmm, I believe they should still be there waiting as long as you had an email address attached.

When you're able to get on you will click on "Forgot User ID/Password", enter the account name, and if your account had a email address attached it should send an email with a reset code.

Thanks for the info.  I probably should have double checked that before I asked, that's my bad.  That's prob a good thing, but I'm curious how it's going to be enforced seeing as there are tons of accounts that have been sold.

If someone bought an account before the rule change they are safe and can still use it.  It only affects account transfers going forward.
