Micon is not (and has never been) involved with SWC Poker

marlais- I Love You.  But .... never ??

Hello, I run SwC Poker and can answer any questions you may have about my site or bitcoin gambling in general.

No, you're right, I had my story messed up. The old site was shut down in February but he wasn't charged with anything, and Micon announced that he had started SWC Poker and was moving to Antigua. Then in June, he negotiated a plea deal and moved back to the U.S. after being formally charged. In any case, it would be sheer stupidity to run afoul of the law again after copping a plea, so I can't imagine that he's involved with SWC Poker since he made the deal.

the biggest evidence I see of this just riding the coattails of the old SWC is simple... no official site rep. in this thread. If they were serious about this thing, they would have much bigger social media presence

For sure, it seems to me like at the very least they should have opened up some sort of logins on the website so that you could recover your old account and maybe chit-chat in the trollbox.  As it stands, I haven't even been able to log-in since Dec 2014.  In March 2015 when Micon said android or some sort of cross-platform ability was coming, I believed.  I don't really believe anymore.

For the record, SWC Poker is not the same as the old Seals With Clubs. Micon is not (and has never been) involved with SWC Poker, and it's not run by the same people who ran Seals With Clubs. The original Seals With Clubs was shut down a long time ago, and there is no plan to resurrect it. However, SWC Poker has a listing of old Seals accounts, and if you e-mail [email protected], they will transfer your old account name and krill over to the new site if there was an e-mail address associated with your Seals With Clubs account.

For the record, Micon WAS involved with SWC poker (he "isn't now").  It IS run by some of the same people who ran Seals With Clubs (it says so right on the website).

If you are not a spokes person you are doing a good job to promote and a even better job of making it seem like no one is involved from the ole days in the new site. If this is the case, there really is little reason for many of us to go and play since the vibe is no longer. But something tells me that the same people are around the scene in some form and this is just some smoke and mirrors.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I am not a spokesperson for SWC or Seals With Clubs. I was just trying to point you in the right direction, because if you're waiting for Micon to write an Android app or to resurrect old Seals With Clubs, you're going to be waiting for a very long time indeed. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that the conditions of Micon's probation(?) prevent him from being involved with internet poker in general.

A lot of the old players from Seals With Clubs are around on SWC Poker, and the vibe is similar, but it's not the same. You can actually get chat banned now for something other than flooding, donkdown is permanently cancelled, and no more account sales. If you used to play a lot on old Seals, you will probably see some familiar names in the trollbox and on the tables. If you had krill on your old account, you can play the krillrolls on the new site. glitch is still the tournament director, but as far as I am aware, that is the only similarity between the management/developers/support of the two sites. If you have some actual information (and not just pure speculation) that says different, I'd be interested in hearing it.

I may write code in exchange for bitcoins.

I wish it weren't true, because the old seals was amazing.  It really seems like after the Icon left things never were the same.  Image suffered, development suffered, ...  Now looking for the next reliable poker house for bitcoins, I think it's completely up for grabs at this point.

I see people saying this, and I'm wondering why you felt the old seals > new SWC?  Granted I only played on old seals sparingly, but the grid software blows the mavens software out of the water.
Unless you used to play the old seals on your android tablet on your sofa, and on your android phone on a long bus commute.  And you haven't run windoze software since you played Sid Meyer's Civilization when you were a kid.  In that case the old seals was awesome and the new seals is just promises that one day you're recover your account and your krill.  And after waiting more than a year for that one day, it starts to feel like it was just bullshit.  Okay, so that's why people are saying it.

So your issues with SWC are just accessibility?  That's fair, and I do agree that it should have been done by now or at the very least communicated about with the customers in a timely manner.

Stumbled upon this brilliant display of journalism: http://www.gambling911.com/poker/bryan-micon-and-seals-clubs-make-top-10-bitcoin-fail-list-040416.html

CoinTelegraph.com has come up with its Top 10 Bitcoin Fails, and there are plenty of them.

Online gambling was not immune to the failings.

The website lists online poker site Seals With Clubs and its founder Bryan Micon along side dodgy banks, drug dealers online and Kidnappers, among others.

The Seals With Clubs site came in at number 4.

#4: Unlicensed Online Gambling Dens

Gambling has always been in a legal grey area, and online platforms for the activity are no exception.

Bryan Micon, operator of the closed down bitcoin-fueled poker site Seals With Clubs, has been charged by the Nevada Attorney General with operating an unlicensed gambling enterprise, and faces up to ten years in prison and a US$50,000 fine. Interestingly enough it seems he is willing to try an unconventional and as-of-yet untested defense strategy, arguing that Bitcoin is not the same as Currency in the context of gambling law.

According to information available from Nevada’s Attorney General’s website, the investigation into Micon is unique as it is believed to be the first state-level criminal prosecution of an illegal poker website operating with Bitcoin. In a statement released on the Attorney General’s website, AG Burnett, Chairman of the Nevada State Gaming Control Board said that his organisation was “pleased to work” with the office of the Attorney General to stop an interactive gaming website operating without a gaming license.

I played a lot on the old seals too and the new software and the variety of games on the new SWC is much better. I understand that not everyone has Windows, but most people do- so hopefully things somehow pick up.  Bovada doesn't do bitcoin withdrawals so to me, they don't count as a bitcoin site.

Just because they aren't spending money to develop new platforms, doesn't mean they will close the site. The site still makes money and if you actually play a variety of games and sit and wait a few minutes- you will have more action then you can handle.

They wouldn't cut guaranteed player rewards unless they were seriously hurting for cash.  Also, the owner claimed a few months ago that he was running the site at a loss and since then there has been no increase in player volume since that time.

Its almost like they do not want to be the next Micon the Icon and get jacked in the process by putting a new face in place.
Seems crazy to allow this site to fall off in this manner, hope its just a glitch.

Confirmed dead

If seals is not having issues then they would be expanding. Failure to do so points to issues they are unwilling or unable to fix.
Really no other way to read it, even if you are a fan boy.

Im pissed cause removed me from krillroll as sitout when had shit to do haha. I do get why you are pissed but as I explained and as was explained to me krillrollss are subject to change at any time and have in the past without explanation. The site does not need to give an explanation as to why they are cutting back freerolls though the answer is probably obvious to anyone.

I feel like you agree with when I was saying initially, which is that the site is in serious trouble.  Glad we're on the same page.

Just because they're cutting back on krillrolls doesn't mean site is in "serious trouble"
