oh, and an Uninterrupted Power Supply (APC was #1 back in my day, not sure if still is) not only keeps your unit on, if it has the software/hardware interface, it will power itself off nicely, instead of a sudden shut down, and when the power SURGES back on, the UPS and has built in surge protection, so a wise investment when spending more than 3K+ on a computer/hasher.

Tongue  I think one person is speaking of power supply for the miners, while the other is speaking about "Backup power supplies"
PSU(Power Supply Unit) = ATX = UPS(Universal Power supply), But any backup 120/240v power supply is also known as a UPS(Universal Power Supply) as well.

not to be the stickler nazi, but I think it is UNINTERRUPTED Power Supply. Just an FYI.

Nice case and fans. BFL was at this stage almost one year ago.

Great news this update.

When they do start testing power supplies it would be great if they are able to also try and then advise an UPS solution that fits the product.

The equation for finding out what kind of UPS you want is something that is more determined by you, than them. As the power draw is constant (500w or 1000w, for safety's sake on the Saturn/Jupiter, respectively). After that, you need to find out how long you want of a window to shut down the unit (or how long you want it to run), then that gives you an idea of how big of a UPS and how many extra battery packs you would need if extended run time was something you were after.

Battery back ups are nice, but a generator is a must if you plan to have long term outages (data centers already have huge generators the size of semi trucks sitting outside) and want to keep running.

APC has a run time calculator as well.

I asked for a refund of my day 1 delivery Saturn, unless someone wants it for 60BTC PM me.

Why would you bother them with a refund request... And then offer it for sale here? Oy.

Because he clearly wants to double his money.

if you were in a datacenter you would see all the odd crap that are in racks

While not ideal, as long as it draws air in front-to-back, and there's room for the external power supply on a 19" width, it'll be fine in a rack.
