Indicators show we're heading to $265.

You too have a magic crystal ball?

Mine said we are heading towards $2000

Just my kind of luck... buy at $2000 and sell at $265, lol. I'll leave trading to people with more analytical minds than my own.

I'll probably just keep hashing away and dumping my BTC earnings back into gear until there's zero return. They're going to have to be hosted rigs from this point forward though. It not even May and my A/C is running 24/7. It's going to be a long hot summer and my FrankenJup and Monarchs aren't even here yet.

15 Days now, and they refuse the refund... I thought they where better, but i guess not.

Also my friend received BTC instead of $ without even requesting it, but let's say that is personal preference on their part.
I noticed they don't answer any of my mails. Guess they don't want to

KnC was a nice ideea

It could be $4000-6000 by the end of the year.  For now we are on a serious downtrend.  Read some technical analysis (TA).

Don't panic.  Scoop for as much as you can before Wall Street does.

The waiting-before-doing-the-refund is a really shady tactic, they are most likely aiming to getting a lower number of refunds if people on the forums claim it takes some time.

Additionally it might be cashflow related, as they probably don´t just have the cash lying around if they take 200 or so refund requests, which is not to say they don´t have the cash or assets, it might just not be readily available for instant bank-wire transfer.

Maybe they also hope (and this is pure speculation on my part) to sell some of the 3rd batch products and just take that money to refund earlier customers.

The really sad thing in my opinion is that people accepted a 30% overpriced (25% on hardware + cost of psus) Frankenjupiter with a 20% too high power efficiency for their money, which should have given them bleeding-edge 20nm mining technology.
However it looks like the efficiency of the Neptune will most likely be no better than 0,7J/Gh, so not really worth the wait.
If they pull out some crazy hashrate increase to 4,5 TH, which seems doable, they will have lost a lot of customers by not communicating to the people funding their operations with thousands of dollars tied up in the investment.

Still, 4,5 TH only gives you 2,22$ / GH in June, which you can nearly get now.

A bird in the hand, blah, blah, blah.  I took the offer for FrankenJup.  Even if the Neptune is 5THs and is delivered at the end of June (which it won't be), the FrankenJup is the better option.

It's like saying a sandwich with 1 gram of shit in it is better than a sandwich with 2 grams of shit in it if you're forced to eat one.  The price of BTC needs to be $1200 now for you to break even when instead you could've bought more BTC with your $10K at current levels.

Buying and holding bitcoin is effing boring and I simply won't do it.  It isn't for everyone and neither is mining.  I buy miners because I like to mine.

Btw, I haven't spent fiat on miners since my first few purchases.  All of my big ticket mining purchases have come from bitcoin that I've earned mining.  I cashed out my initial fiat investment a long time ago.  If that's not a positive ROI, then tell me what it is.

I never said to buy and hold.  Buy and trade.  Indicators show we're heading to $265.  You will get way more coin if you swing trade.  I've actually become very good at swing trading crypto and am doing quite well growing my coin count.  I don't consider myself a pro trader at all.

Maybe in the future mining will be worth it again if these asshole equipment makers price their stuff properly.  But for now nobody is worth it.  By the time it might be worth it again, the higher price of BTC could net you a nice chunk of future hashrate.  Whatever that might be...

If I order a titan now when can I expect it if im living in the same city as the companys head office is located in Stockholm?

What asic scrypt miner can I buy that does 300mhs at least and has a delivery by june latest?

go work for them and you'll have it next week

Im well off enough to not work mate maybe you need to do something about your future.

Damn dude, settle down. He wasn't slamming you. He was just implying that KNC would have the Titans in-house way before they'll release them to the great unwashed masses.

As far as when the Titan will be released, expect late summer at the very earliest... if ever.

So, latest I've heard is that 20nm is so fugged up at TMSC that nVidia won't be on it until 2015 AND have to redesign for it.....

edit: "next year" is 2015, derp.

Interesting

This is mostly irrelevant to Bitcoin mining chips: they are so redundant and fault-tolerant, that they can use just about any technology that has working transistors ("working" in the analog sense of the word).

Fab problems for a top-flight light-house customers are actually moderately good for small, research-like customers doing Bitcoin mining: less competition for the limited wafer-start slots.

Edit: grammar corrections.

Don't let the nam-shub in your operating system.
Wow, I was keeping track of the used boards they're selling and before the weekend up through yesterday they had 205 left in stock, today when I put in the max order of 500 it happily says OK we have that many.

Me thinks they are going to be selling those boards for a long time, as they rotate out of Datorhall ....

Does anyone have an estimated ETA on either version of Titan?  May? June? July? August? September? November? Next Year?

December

Wow, pretty sure there will be another scrypt ASIC that will beat that timeframe ...

IMO, Neptunes will be all shipped by end of June. My guess would be 1st batch starts shipping mid May, 2nd batch mid June

IMO, Neptunes will be all shipped by end of June. My guess would be 1st batch starts shipping mid May, 2nd batch mid June

So even though KNC have stated "The first customers (batch 1) are expected to be hashing in our data center in early June and the last customer will hash in our data center around the last week of June. ", you think the Neptune shipping will start mid May?  Roll Eyes

Edit: So I just realised that KNC have only announced when the 3TH Cloud Hashing begins for Neptune customers, NOT when they expect to ship Neptune. They've said the cloud hashing starts at these dates in June, but they still don't have any date on Neptune actually shipping. So indeed, looks like Q3/Q4 is getting even more likely.
