I am going to wait for the Neptune. Knowing their past history. I should get a miner faster than 3 TH/s in June.

I have no longer trust in KNC.
They have a huge datacenter with running machines as we speak. Q2 is also started.
When they want to be fair, they give us NOW the cloudhash, not in June (+/- 8-9 weeks later from now)

I can't believe they are actually talking about June now. I understand that delays in the production of a 20nm chip can happen, but isn't that what plan B was for? How can plan B start in June, when that was the very latest possible delivery?

Considering they have a huge datacenter, funded by us, it really is a huge slap in the face. At least the CA batch, the people who actually funded their entire business and got the ball rolling for them, should be hashing in datorhall now!. Since they have totally eclipsed the 5% hashrate figure by now, this update is just insanely frustrating and infuriating. They totally slipped over to the dark side, and it is really sad, I had such trust in KNC before all this. Money and power corrupts I guess.

that's why a few of us post the same thing over and over again here since not everyone has woken up yet

It is not in their best interest to start plan B earlier then their promised delivery in Q1/Q2 since they will realize more profit by running them for their own purposes until June and then start to phase them over, from now until then 3Th will make them another 9BTC, and then they can cut over, still within the timeline they promised..

Also got the information from Knc that they will not offer hosting for these 400 3Ths Jupiter boxes.

of course not.. they are only ditching these to make room for better stuff

Did you ask them why didn't they just sell jupiters/modules back in Feb instead of raping your good faith in them?

+1   agreed...customer FIRST.  What they are doing is VERY bad for business

have you heard of these guys...  'bitcoin brothers'

http://cointelegraph.com/post/the_new_leader_in_mining_interview_with_thomas_j_ackerman_bitcoin_brothers#.U0P8F6i99rh

below is what they think of KNC

Quote
AS: What gives your company a competitive edge over companies like KnCMiner for example?

TA: Well our chips are much better, they use a lot less power and they’re available - we can start making those wafers tomorrow. Our cost of operation is very low so we can sell the capacity way below the price of our competitors. So we operate at a fraction of the cost compared to KnCMiner which at least makes its own chips - not very successfully unfortunately.

Not to play them down, but they do have a problem with that. The cost of operation that they have in Sweden is high and they can’t bring power to their data-centers very quickly and only very expensively. In Sweden, the green power that they use costs them something like 30 cents per kWh. It’s really, really expensive. So while it technically works, it takes a much longer to time to deploy and, from a business point of view, not very profitable to run. We certainly don’t want to put them out of business because we need a healthy competition but there is two or three other big companies, Cloud Hashing that is buying everyone else’s chips; they’re also housing their operations in Iceland, which makes the most sense, however, they’re buying other chips that are not as efficient as ours. Beyond Cloud Hashing and KnCMiner there very little left.
Thanks for sharing that...
Shows they dont know nearly what they think in a few areas
They have no clue KNC's datahall is in Boden...
They claim to know the efficiency of Neptune, When KNC has yet to reveal those numbers.
iCombine both those facts, and the entire statement is moot.    Undecided

on KNC:
*Push customers back to June, while we continue to stuff the datahall..........    Uuuggh
At least there's the Frankenstein option.

They have screwed us and are a cancer on the entire network.  Once I receive refunds for my numerous Neptune orders I will be e-mailing Sam and Andreas directly, with my thoughts on their business practices and what utter phenomenal shitbags they are.  Not that it will matter...

Theres a whole world of difference between a GPU and an ASIC. All that article says is "Basically 20nm has already begun at TSMC, but apparently the process is not yet ready for full fledged GPU core production"

Okay, let me hear your theory as to how a GPU is not an ASIC...

Not theory

At the very least this confirms they had 3TH x 400 sitting around instead of selling them back in January.
Cheesy it's obvious, they offers 3TH Jupiter's ($3,413.28 a month) instead 12k $  Grin maybe there are only 400 people having the Neptune's preorders only ....refund refund now

I think the 20nm chip is a fantasy right now for them. If an actual chip had been produced or hey had anything remotely working then they would have shown it already. I found a good use for my refunded order money months ago. You all should do the same and quit supporting these nuts.

they do have the chip in fab - but; the timelines they state (and continue to state) are just lies.

i don't think it possible to have received the chips already, and it seems that the Swedish translation for 'September' is 'June'

You also got to wonder how the word "closer" translates  Cheesy

February
-snip-
In the meantime, we'll see just how much truth lies behind their February 2014 statement of "As we are getting closer to the launch date of Neptune", as time progresses.

April
The first customers (batch 1) are expected to be hashing in our data center in early June and the last customer will hash in our data center around the last week of June.

OH AND:

  • These boxes will ship 3-4 weeks after the first Neptune Batch

Funny, I didn't know there were 4 weeks between the first week and the last week of a month? I guess time moves more slowly in Sweden.

Anyway, good to see knc contradicting themselves and revealing all the lies they've been feeding everyone.

This is basically a game of trying to grab as much of the 21m BTC pie as you can.  Taking your $10K now will buy more BTC than what 3TH can mine.  Bitcoin mining is pretty much dead thanks to all the greedy cloud farms until the price goes back up.  But when the price goes back up, it's too late for you to get the most BTC you can at these current levels.

The difficulty is shooting way ahead of the price.

I requested a refund on my 3 Neptunes 4 days ago and now I feel even better about my decision.
I wonder why people still keep their orders.
The only reason I kept mine was to resell on Ebay, but even at this very moment the prices there has fallen to around £2000-£2500 per 1TH/s so even that opportunity for a profit is gone.

Hey CYPER when you going to post your review of the bitcoinultra rigs you got?

I can't comment on this atm, but I am expecting a new revision rig from them to review, which should arrive around the 25th this month.
I will be in Germany until the 2nd May, so I will be able to review it after I get back.

All or nothing, Like Goxcoins ^^
I like the risk and was with Jupiter absolutely right....

My point of view!
