Which is to say that it will ship between January 1 and June 30.

Of course these noobs who can't understand what Q1/Q2 means weren't present here one month ago to cry about KnC not delivering them the miners. Now that the exchange rate dropped and the hashrate keeps climbing at a steady 20% per diff rise they got scared.

Also got the information from Knc that they will not offer hosting for these 400 3Ths Jupiter boxes.

of course not.. they are only ditching these to make room for better stuff

Did you ask them why didn't they just sell jupiters/modules back in Feb instead of raping your good faith in them?

Because without the "Neptune" product they cannot continue the Pre-order Ponzi scheme.

Now they have "Scrypt Mining Machines" available for Pre-order.  omg  .  Q2/Q3 shipments means latest Sept when difficulty will be probably 50-100x by then.

I like big BITS and I cannot lie.
"Q1/Q2"  MEANS---  March or April..

No it doesn't.
It was clear that it didn't when it was first announced, and several people loudly said so.

Why is basic math so difficult for some people? Oh yeah, everyone drops out of school these days.

A year is 12 months(shocking revelation, I know). Divided into quarters ( 12 % 4, 12 * 1/4, however you want to look at it ) consists of three month long quarters. This also, may be shocking to some.

[Jan] [Feb] [March] <---- that is quarter 1

[Apr] [May] [June]  <---- that is quarter 2

[July] [Aug] [Sept] <---- that is quarter 3

[Oct] [Nov] [Dec  ] <---- that is quarter 4

To say that something will "arrive Q1/Q2" is short for saying "Delivery of your product will take place in the following time period: Quarter 1 (January 1 - March 31) and Quarter 2 (April 1 - June 30)...

Which is to say that it will ship between January 1 and June 30.

I don't understand why are people angry. While i was pissed at the refund thing, i don't see anything bad with the latest news. Will someone enlighten me why is everyone pissed? You paid for a 3TH/s miner with announced delivery on Q1/Q2. So the deadline is 30 June 2014. You will get the promised 3TH/s in June!(either as a free-hosted cloud hashing power either as a physical miner) It's very close to the deadline, but they respect their word. How many companies respect their pre-order deadlines? As long as they respect their own deadline i don't see a problem. Yes i am aware that they already have the cloud hashing power, but why should they give it to the customers right now? They gain nothing and the customers agreed to the Q2 deadline. If you don't like the Q2 deadline then you shouldn't have bought Neptunes! Easy as that. It's amaizing that people are complaining that this company already has a back up 2-3 months before their deadline, while other companies missed their deadline by a lot. I bet that customers that bought from TH, VMC, BFL, Bitmine, BA, HashFail(am i right cedivad?) wished their company had a back up plan as cloud hashing Cheesy

Edit: Forgot HashFail!

So what you're saying is we should be happy they are providing the minimum quoted spec to 400 customers, after misleading and lying to us for 4 months, because they aren't as bad as the other mining hardware companies?

Guess what jackass, they ARE just as bad as the other companies now.  They've stabbed their customers in the back and are ruining things for everyone.

What? They are providing 400 customers the hashrate that they paid, but faster than promised. For the rest of the customers they will provide the paid hashrate, but in June(again in the shipping window). They aren't tricking anyone. Tell me what other company is shipping pre-order hashrate 2 months earlier than the deadline. None! All pre-order companies are shipping LATER than the deadline (Spondoolies is a special case and they don't count here). Why are people so angry at KnC's datacenter? Bitfury had a big ass datacenter way before KnC and nobody complained, Cloudhashing has 2 datacenter now(one in Iceland and one in Australia?) and i bet there are more big players, but nobody is complaining about them. Again, what's the logic behind this? I don't see it.

ADD: it was a no brainer, all i needed to do was advise tsmc that I was looking to provide them with a contract for chips and they sent me the datasheet for bake times. why do you think it was...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83Y2hv-3UCM ??

They offered to show me some confidential info on 20nm the same day you announced you had info on 20nm delays, so I assumed it was the same info.

If you got it by wearing a fake moustache and pretending to be a buyer, kudos for the effort Smiley

well actually i can't take all the credit, i got my journo pal in japan to do the hard part.
gutted no paper has bought the article as yet. waste of bleedin time.
None of the bitcoin "news" website do any investigative journalism. They basically ring up manufacturers and print any BS they are told (like that "bitcoin brothers" article posted earlier). All these hardware people are scamming the hell out of buyers and none of it is reported  Angry

tssk, i'm always available for a good dig around. accept bitcoins for words and pictures too.  Cool

Only if you are an idiot. Q1/Q2 means any time in Q1 or Q2

Not an Idiot, but surely a fool as are many who bought CA, mislead by the Q1/Q2 Delivery. June would be more like Q2/Q3, NO?

NO.
"/" means or.
Q1/Q2 means Q1 or Q2. It doesn't mean somewhere on the boundary between Q1 and Q2.
Which means it isn't late until 1st July.
I assume you aren't a native English speaker? Perhaps the convention is different in your language?

Took the words out of my mouth. Invest 10k$ into something, but can't understand the delivery terms. Yes people are more stupid than we think.

do you remember not one customer at all would of bought a Neptune if Jupiters were available?   They hostaged your money, pissed on your dreams and ate your cake

now you can have those end of life jupiters off their dusty shelves with only a 90 day warranty in place of the hopes and dreams of mighty Neptunes

that's called being the stooge

Point is, KNC is not fair.

They have a datacenter up and running, but they deliver "plan B" as late as possible.
Fact is, in August, even if they deliver 10 TH, its the same worth as now delivering 3 TH.

Its the same as selling a holiday to the beach, but sending the tickets to late, so the holiday becomes worthless.

When they want to be fair, they deliver 3TH cloudhash today, not tomorrow.

But time is the key and the rising difficulty the most critical factor.
Speaking their very own words: "We know as well as everyone in this business that time is a critical part of the process."

And I wonder why Bitmaintech, Dragonminer and Spondoolish have similar products ready to ship without the need of thousends of customers paying upfront 10k each.

Anyone who is surprised knc will not be shipping until June has not been reading the writing on the walls, e.g. this from last DECEMBER:

Q2 begins in 3 months, 2 weeks.... not seven months... and the ststement said q1/q2, so could be sooner.
KNC have shipped *everything* late. Even, somehow, boards they had in stock  Grin So they have a 100% track record of delivering late. That's what I base my numbers on - what they have done over and over again - 100% of the time.

They say Q2, it could easily mean "first weeks in Q3". That's totally consistent with what they have done 100% of the time so far. If you think they will suddenly change that, when going out into uncharted water's with 20nm, you are welcome to delude yourself into believing that. It's much more realistic to look at what a company have done 100% of the time to work out how they will perform in the future.

I'm pretty confident they will not ship in June either, if you want my *opinion*.

i don't have an opinion, all I have is official data that tells me they won't ship in June.
Yes yes, the top secret info that spongebob-tech or whatever gave you a glimpse of.

t'wisnae them; came direct from tsmc. so while the majority were singing global foundries - i quoted tsmc mask times. and lo and behold, knc confirmed it today in that news-thingymajigger. dunno, maybe they let it slip before now but i was just as surprised to find out tsmc were doing the baking.

hmm yummy easter cakes for christmas.
