Hey KNC, go fuck yourselves with your pre-order (pre-mined) bullshit

Before when we all bought Jupiters, KNC didn't have a mining center to fire up new hardware and mine the hell out of new boards (hosting took months to iron out)
but now if you pre-order a neptune or titan you are just feeding their mining monster and you'll get maybe batch 5 of their hardware as the customers 'first batch'

Antminers and Gridseeds was a nice refreshing change to mining but big bad KNC has to crash the party and bully people with super miner specs to take your money hostage in fear

You COULD of sold us extra modules in Feb and kept a loyal fan base, but NOOOOOO you showed your new stripes so again... go fuck yourselves

Expand your horizons outside of Bitcoin and you will see there is a lot of money to be made now, by the time KNC delivers their solution Litecoin will likely be $25-$30 (IMHO)

I've briefly check and you can get 15Mh/s of scrypt mining power for ~$10K. it will give you 2.6 ltc/day (0.07583304 btc/day at current exchange).

Your math is a little off, 15Mh/s will get you 0.09 btc a day, that is not me estimating by the way.

As of know with $10K I could buy ~550 ltc. That means 200 days of mining at current diff level to mine back all those coins.

Where in US can you buy LTC for $$? I opened an account on Kraken, and it says that i can only trade cryptocurrencies pairs.
I would really appreciate the info.

I was more referring to yours "magic" ltc and btc future value / trend estimates,  just to trade and earn a lot of money.

But since you're talking about miners I just want to say that I have no intention to buy any new miners for now, be it scrypt/sha256 and manufactured by whoever you want.

thanks for the advice though.

Sure you should ROI in $ term if ltc will reach $50 or more.

In my book this means better to buy crypto directly rather than miners.

I like big BITS and I cannot lie.
It makes no sense whatsoever to pre-order a litecoin rig for delivery 6 months from now.

If you have $10,000 burning a hole in your pockets - buy some gpus and be mining with substantial MH in 2 to 3 days.

Then in X months time, you will still have substantial resale value in the motherboards, gpus etc and can sell them and move up to a 25MH or 50MH rig or whatever is available. PLUS you will have X months mining profits to help with the purchase!

Why put your money in the "KNC Savings and Free-Loans-For-Us Bank" for 6 months, doing nothing except earning KNC interest, when you can have your money working for YOU in 2 to 3 days?

You spoke my mind +one

I'm running 2 THASH of Ants and my house is freaking loud and HOT! With the summer coming I don't know what the heck I'm going to do.

Sell them.  I'll take them off your hands for the current S1 price minus 10% since they're used.

This is a problem LOTS of people aren't expecting. While the greedy virus has taken a hold they've purchased all this hardware and now are draining fossil fuels at an alarming rate while heating their house too. When summer starts to roll around things will get interesting. Buying a couple of floor fans at Walmart isn't going to help with the new hardware. While much more efficient, you still need multiple power supplies and more cooling fans all which throw off a lot of heat. Just from having an upgraded October rig I had to turn off the heat vent in the room where it is running. And it has been heating that entire room for the whole winter now. I can't imagine how some of you will keep your new gear cool, especially without some kind of commercial cooling. The ambient temperature will just be too high.

I want picture of all fires.

uuuuh, didn't you have a knc machine before?
My experience was there was never a cooling problem, as they were overcooled, and every single board ran better at 75-80C than at 40 or 50C
So why expect cooling problems now?
If it catches fire... I'll roast marshmallows.

Bitmain wiped out Neptune. They probably didn't need to keep lowering their prices, but they did, until their price matched exactly Neptune per GH Grin

(N.B. Do the math - their current price of 0.988BTC matches exactly)

Shipping from stock, they have destroyed BFL/KNC's cosy pre-order business.

I predict Bitmain (or some other Chinese company using the Bitmain business model) will flood the market with ~10MH litecoin rigs as soon as it's feasible.

Shhhhh!  I don't want disappointed KnC customers to figure out they could be actually mining with real gear and buy up the remaining stock of S1's.  I'm still building my mining operation so keep Bitmain out of this thread. Wink

A competitor for Litecoin rigs, Alpha-t.net, has 25Mh at <=300 watts. I'd say if the Titan was a 20nm rig it would be around 800-900. Each 25Mh unit was priced at 8900ish, with a June/July shipping date.

I also don't think they're trying to get rid of Neptune preorders. If they did, they wouldn't reoffer them on their website (as of this writing, 4 were in stock)

The announcement definitely got the other companies riled up. I'm sure similar announcements from Bitmain and other manufacturers get KnC worked up too.

We would like to assure you we are very aware of our competitors hash rates and pricing and intend to match them, we started development in May 2013 and are on schedule to ship in July giving us the clear lead. During development we decided to make our units larger and upgradable so we could accommodate increased hash rates with ease, we gave ourselves this leeway for a variety of reasons. And the announcement of Scrypt miners from competitors was of course one such reason that we anticipated and planned for. A full announcement with details on our new batch 1 hash rates will be released very soon!

So magically they will give everyone who pre-ordered their Litecoin rigs 4x the promised hashing power to 100Mh?  Not sure how realistic that is unless they under-stated their performance by a factor of 4 or they are increasing their rig size and give 4x the chips...  All from a brand new company...
It will be a pro-rata increase.

Seems they want to get rid of their Neptune liability fast  Tongue
lol, bingo.
In February, they start offering cloud hashing instead of Neptune. Suddenly a few weeks ago they stop selling their refunded Neptune units. And now are offering customers easy switch to a completely different product. Read into that what you will  Tongue

That they will covert Neptune into cloud hashing?

Pretty soon we'll see products advertised years in advance and yet people will still pre-order them. Stop feeding the monster people! Just use your head and buy bitcoin outright. Certainly saves a whole lotta of time and energy.

Looks like scrypt asics are on the horizon, new section appeared on the website

In this catergory you will find our litecoin mining products. The devices are being designed and built by the same tream who brought you the first 28nm Bitcoin mining hardware.

Our products have progressed past the RTL stage of devlopement and will be launched for sale very soon.

That's so messed up. They are selling litecoin rigs and don't accept litecoin as a payment. Man, talking about trying to get to the market before anyone else. That's pretty rude actually.
