Damn poor proteas..

No doubt Windies are the real giant and formidable force in the T-20 format and only this team has a ability to mock their opponent. I'm afraid to say but if they manage to click this year in October then i don't see any team is able to defeat them. Even World XI can't compete them when they are in form.

The West Indies squad for T20 World Cup will be like picking the best players from each of the IPL franchises and squeezing them to a 15-member side. Look at the names - Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine.etc. These are some of the best players in this format. Other teams have a maximum of 3 or 4 T20 specialists and West Indies have 15 T20 specialists. That is the difference. Unless there are any issues with team bonding or cohesion, West Indies should be the favorites.

Romania has won the quadrangular T20 tournament in Sofia (Bulgaria). It was really disappointing. Out of the four teams participating, Romania had a team that was entirely consisted of foreigners. The only native player was Pavel Florin. Greece and Bulgaria had squads that were around 50% native and 50% foreigner. They finished 2nd and 3rd. Serbia had a 100% native squad and they lost all of their matches and finished last. The stupid ICC eligibility laws are killing cricket in associate nations. Very soon, all the associate nations will be importing players from India and Pakistan and fielding these 100% foreign squads for various tournaments. Associate cricket has become a joke.

Strangely how things have changed for the South Africa team. A few years before they were consider on of the stronger teams but now people are predicting that they will be washout in the series against a low profile time like West Indies. We see some very poor performances by Sri lanka and South Africa recently which left only 3 - 4 nations dominating the cricket.

West Indies is quite strong, as far as the T20 format is concerned. South Africa crushed West Indies during the test series, but T20 is another story altogether. And the important thing here is that West Indies destroyed South Africa yesterday, without most of their star players. Andre Fletcher and Evin Lewis opened the batting for West Indies, while their opening bowler was 21-year old spinner Kevin Sinclair. They fielded such a young and inexperienced side, and still South Africa couldn't compete against them.

5 matches T20 series between South Africa and WestIndies might become a total white wash for the South African team. Yesterday's match was complete disappointment, South Africans had no clue what they were trying to achieve when they were batting first. I felt a score of 200 would have been good considering the powerful WI batting line up. 160 was an easy target for the WI, which they achieved by losing only 2 wickets.

Even 160 was not a bad total, but apart from Shamsi the South African bowlers failed. But looking at their scoring rate in the first few overs, South Africa could have made a total close to 200. The lower middle order completely failed in scoring the runs quickly (Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and George Linde together accounted for just 16 runs from 24 balls). And I was surprised by Bavuma's captaincy. Despite being the best bowler, Anrich Nortje was allowed only two overs. If he had bowled his full quota, then it would have been tighter.
Still if we consider both the teams then WI is far better than the South African team. WI have a very good batting line up for T20 format and if any team wants to win a match then they should target a big total. South African should rethink their strategy otherwise this series will be a whitewash for them.

West Indies dominated the match against South Africa, i thought 160 runs was a decent score with the bowlers they had but the West Indies batsman smashed Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, George Linde and Reeza Hendricks and won by 5 overs to spare and just proved that they are the strongest team in the upcoming T20 World Cup and this will probably be the last World Cup for Chris Gayle and winning them will be a proper send off for the T20 King.

Another interesting match is going on between South Africa and West Indies and South Africa has set a target of 160 runs and with all their major players back in the West Indies squad including Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder, Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo i think they will chase the score easily.
West Indies started well and they already reached 71 runs within 6 overs at a strike rate of over 12 runs per over and i think they are the most dangerous team in the upcoming T20 World Cup as they have a destructive batting line up and can defeat any team on their day because of the batting fire power they have.

If they get starts like they had today with Andre Fletcher and Evin Lewis opening the batting with the rest of the power house waiting to come out to bat they could chase any total and it will be a big hurdle to defeat them if they are playing with the same team throughout the season.

I am happy because Sri Lanka did not lose by 100 runs. They have been defeated by just 90 runs  Grin. I do not understand the reason for the poor performance of the Sri Lankan team. I think if this team goes to play a series against Afghanistan now, they will lose. Watching the Sri Lankan match is now a waste of time.
All three matches Sri Lanka won the toss and in the first two occasions they chose to bat first and ended up badly and in the third they tried their luck at chasing and one thing was missing, they did not have a great batting line up and there is nothing they can do about it unless they find young talents who can play fearless cricket and can clear the boundary with ease.

I am smiling at the performance of the Sri Lankan team. Sri Lanka is An experienced team, I did not expect to perform so badly to them. I thought they would lose, but the England team had to fight hard to win. England set a target of 181 runs in today's match. At the moment, Sri Lanka has scored 71 runs and lost 8 wickets. I think they will lose all the wickets before they score 81 runs. They will be defeated by 100 runs.
England win the series as Sri Lanka are bowled out at only 91 runs. After seeing the current batting display of Sri Lanka, I would say better team win the series. At the same time i'm scared of the present conditions of Sri Lankan team, it's getting embarrassing for Sri Lankan cricket. England deserve it, but one sided series.

Okay ladies finally ICC took a wise decision and T-20 WC is taking place in UAE instead of India. Starting from Oct 17 and featuring 16 teams.

Also remaining games of IPL are going to kick on from Sep 19 (UAE). There seems to be some confusion about IPL's final but as of now they fixed Oct 15 for the finals.
It is great to hear that the T20 World Cup is conducted this year and moved to UAE, the new delta version of virus is started to create panic in many countries and hopefully we will not see any changes in the fixture, since IPL is moved to UAE as well they will be getting more exposure to the ground and surroundings and almost all of the players playing in the IPL will get advantage and it is a good tactic that the rest of the players from other countries participate in the IPL as well.

T20 is a format which suits very well to players who are able to take the pressure and perform out of the book. The game is so amazing that most of the time it has a close finish.

I won't say home ground benefits do not count, it does but it does not play a major role.
T20 is a format for hard hitter, thus any moment situation could change. Any players could play significant role, and home ground give you extra benefits that encourage a team deliver their best.

In Search of Incredible
Who should be blamed here? The T20 World Cup was originally planned for 2020. It was moved to 2021, because the BCCI wanted to conduct IPL and it overlapped the original schedule of the world cup. IPL is not doing any good to the world cricket. The benefit goes to the richest boards such as BCCI, CA, CNZ and ECB, with the smaller boards not gaining anything. ~
Those cricket borads tries to control ICC always. Some players get benefits from IPL because it is a game of money and franchises give big amount to those players for playing in IPL. But all countries player doesn't get benefit from it. Some players won't play in rescheduled IPL matches. It will reduce the excitement of rescheduled IPL event.

^ That's indeed smart move by ICC to choose UAE rather than India for upcoming the 2021 men's T20 World Cup. Its a neutral venue, every team could benefits. However, Pakistan have a brilliant chance to win this time, as UAE is their second home ground. Eagerly waiting, no washout at least...

Home ground does not matter much when it comes to T20 World cup and the UAE will be a neutral venue for all the nations. I am hopeful to see a tough competition here and eventually anyone from the top teams (India, Australia , NZ)  will be the winners.

I agree with you. In a match of 20 overs, the home team is not a big fact. The team that stays in form and can play well on the field will win. However, the New Zealand team is now in great form. They have won the Test World Championship against India. If the players can maintain their form, New Zealand will be able to do well in the T20 World Cup.
