I just watched the highlights of PSL and Rashid Khan played outstanding with the ball he just gave away 9 runs in 4 overs and with the bat took the team to victory.

It was amazing performance from Rashid Khan. In T20 format, if you concede 30-32 runs, then it is considered as economical. And yesterday, Rashid conceded just 9 runs from his 24 balls! He is just getting impossible to play (and let's not forget that he took the most important wicket of Hussain Talat). And when he batted, it was the other way around. 16 runs were needed from the last over and he scored 12 runs from the first three balls. After that, it was just a formality with Tim David scoring the necessary runs.

It takes some time to build up the momentum and it was lost when both the tournaments were disrupted mid-way. And in both the cases, the respective cricket boards were responsible for the bubble-breach, which ultimately resulted in the postponement of the leagues. In case of PSL, Wahab Riaz and the franchise owner were allowed inside the bubble without proper quarantine. And in case of IPL, Varun Chakravarthy was allowed to leave the bubble and then re-enter without quarantine requirement.
I was not aware of the specific reasons but we knew someone the bio bubble they created were breached. But the doubt i had with the IPL is that multiple players from different teams were infected and if one player from a team breached the bubble how come other teams were infected and these are the news i heard during that time and i did not hear about any other updates regarding that.

I was happy to see James Faulkner playing for Lahore Qalandars. When he made his test debut in 2013 against England, he was regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in Australia. He picked 6 wickets in that match, but was never considered for the test team after that. Now it may be too late for him to make an international comeback, but his performance today made me cheerful.

BTW, Islamabad United seems to be in deep trouble. I would be surprised if they are able to make a three digit total.

The match between Pakistan Super League's Lahore Qalandars vs Islamabad United is now being held. The Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to field. I think that was a good decision. At the end of 9 overs, Islamabad lost 4 wickets and collected only 61 runs. The Lahore Qalandars will have an easy win today if the Lahore bowlers can bowl well till the 20th overs.
Finally PSL is back in action but i missed the hype behind the tournament as i noticed only after seeing your post.

Islamabad United is struggling as they already lost half their side and Lahore Qalandars are in a position to win the match as there is no way Islamabad United is going to recover from this position as Rashid Khan still has a couple of overs left and their top order is back in the pavilion. I am not familiar with the Lahore Qalandars top order but i am sure they will easily win the match.

If the matches are interesting i do not mind watching them especially if i am placing a bet on the matches. Having a long break kills the momentum, as i was following both PSL and IPL this time and i was predicting things quite successfully but now it will take a long time to get to that phase to understand the tournament once again.

Once a tournament is stopped in between the momentum is gone. PSL and IPL both got interrupted because of the pandemic and now both do not interest me. I am only waiting for the T20 WorldCup hopefully it finishes smoothly without any issue.

West Indians are dominating the T20 format you are absolutely correct, they are hard hitter of the ball. This WorldCup these guys will be players to watch out for.
Almost all of the players are dominating T20 franchise cricket globally and if they are able to play as a team then there is no way any other team is going to challenge them. They have a really solid team if all the players come together but we do not usually see that happen and that is their problem they are really behind in the rankings.

The format is not about scoring big runs by individuals but the main focus by successful team is to avoid dot balls and trying to score runs everywhere possible and target on the weak bowlers, Mumbai is successful because they have two opening fast bowlers who are world class performers and then their other bowlers are difficult to score runs as well, wicket taking bowlers is needed in a team and they have a perfect blend of players.

Regarding Mumbai, I always thought that their strength was in the batting. Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav in the top order, with Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya in the middle gives them a lot of strength. Regarding the opening bowlers, I agree that Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah are some of the best in the world. But I have a feeling that these two bowlers are more suitable to the test format than the T20 format. For the T20 format, I would say that slightly slower bowlers such as Chris Jordan and Deepak Chahar are more effective.

Consistency is not that important in T20 format. You don't expect Pollard or Russell to hit a 50 in every T20 match. There are a limited number of overs to bat, and in case they fail, then someone else will perform in their place. In T20 format, a single good performance from a batsman can give victory to his team, unlike the case in ODI format. So even if someone hits a 100, and everyone else fails to get to double digits, there is a good chance that the team can win. And that is how teams such as Mumbai Indians have such a good record in the IPL.

You are right, but the West Indies team has less experienced bowlers. Looking at the matches against New Zealand, one can understand how weak the bowling lineup of the West Indies is. New Zealand scored 238 in the first match against the West Indies. And New Zealand won by a huge 72 runs. The West Indies need to further improve their bowling lineup.

That is sad actually. Until around 2000, West Indies had the best pace bowlers in the world. For almost half a century, every other country was behind them as far as pace bowling is concerned. Perhaps the last of these legendary bowlers were Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose. After that West Indies failed to produce a pace bowler, who could be included in the "legendary" category. Nowadays, it is hard to find a West Indian bowler who is more than 6 feet tall, and could bowl at above 90 mph on a consistent basis.

Although there are many hard-hitter batsmen in the West Indies's squad, the players do not perform responsibly. And there is no continuity of their performance. And we can enjoy this type of match but can’t rely on them. I don't think there is any possibility of a good result for West Indies in the next T20 World Cup.

I think you are right. I have seen their last two T20 series. They have won the series against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan squad is made up entirely of young and inexperienced players. Against them, the West Indies players performed brilliantly in the first match, but I was not happy to see the performance in the last two matches. The West Indies have not won a single match in the T20 series against New Zealand. The current West Indies team is not as strong as before.

The biggest attraction in the PSL seems to be Andre Russell, who will be playing for the Quetta Gladiators. Things have hardly changed in the T20 format. Ever since franchise cricket came in to existence, the batting department seems to be dominated by the West Indians. First it was players such as Gayle, Narine and Bravo.. now it is Pollard, Russell and Pooran. Looks like no franchise T20 league is complete, without the addition of these players. I am eagerly waiting for the 2021 Caribbean Premier League as well (will start by 28th August).

~ But when will ICC decide, whether it wants to change the venue? Time is running by and they have a few months left before the world cup starts.
The final decision will be taken at the end of this month. Though BCCI said that “they would like to keep the hosting rights” of the tournament even if the venue changed. PSL and IPL reaming matches will be held in UAE and they will prepare their field for T20 world cup after the end of IPL season.

Oman is going to host the game beside UAE. Oman have one international cricket stadium only and it will be the fourth venue of the tournament. And the tournament will be played at three stadium of UAE.

Today there has been an official announcement from the Oman Cricket Association. They have expressed their willingness to co-host the ICC T20 World Cup. OCA want the matches to be played in Al Amerat ground, Muscat. If approved, this will be the first time that Oman is hosting a global ICC championship. ICC is going to take the decision only on 28th June, so it is going to be a 4 weeks wait for everyone.
How many international standard cricket stadiums Oman have. From searching they do have only one stadium for cricket and it is impossible to conduct the entire World Cup in a single stadium and only a few International matches were conducted in that stadium and that too associate team matches.

Today also India reported close to 3,400 deaths from COVID, and there is hardly any improvement.
Even if the situation gets better in a few months the risk is really high to conduct the tournament in India as i heard about a virus variant from India and it is good to move the tournament to other country for the smooth running for the tournament.

The analysts are saying that India may face a stronger and third wave of COVID. Who knows whether it will happen or not. Still four months left for the T20 world cup but ICC should take the decision as early as possible. Cause there is a matter of arrangement which will take time. If the situation doesn't get better in India then UAE and other middle East county will get the chance to host the world cup. In my opinion, ICC should give permission to Oman and other middle East countries for hosting world cup this time. Cricket will gain more popularity in middle East countries if a world cup happens at their places.
Great now another middle East country wants to host the world cup. Looks like the middle East is formerly gearing up for cricket. All thanks to south asian migrant works cricket is getting popular their. But when will ICC decide, whether it wants to change the venue? Time is running by and they have a few months left before the world cup starts.
