Found an interesting article regarding IPL 2021.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dnaindia.com/cricket/report-ipl-2021-virat-kohli-led-royal-challengers-bangalore-rcb-finally-win-the-tournament-here-s-how-2890665/amp

The results do make sense though I would swap DC with CSK in the finals and RCB would end up defeating CSK to win their 1st IPL trophy. Surprising part is that MI would fail to qualify for the playoffs.

Lockdown is going on in India now. But the rural people of India do not follow the lockdown rules. So even after the government gave the lockdown, the virus infection is not decreasing. If BCCI had been more aware of the corona virus, this season's IPL might not have stopped. At the moment, there is no possibility of starting the IPL before the virus infection subsides.

Here the second wave seems to have plateaued. The number of infections per day are now in the 250K range, down from the 400-450K figures which we were having a few days back. But that doesn't mean that it is safe to conduct major tournaments such as the IPL and the T20 World Cup. Not just the rural population, but also a large part of the urban population has scant regard for law and they don't follow lockdown guidelines. For the remainder of the year, the situation is likely to remain worse.
It is just not COVID19 that is creating havoc but also black fungus. Almost all states have declared it as a epidemic and the situation is getting worsen day by day. I do not think that the lockdown will open soon in India. T20 World Cup will be rescheduled to a different destination if things go out of control in coming days because of the black fungus.
India is not a very rich country. There are a lot of poor people in India. It is not possible for them to be in lockdown too. From this, the Government of India can give importance to the observance of hygiene rules. If all people use masks and ignore public gatherings, the infection will be greatly reduced. The Government of India should now make all people more aware of hygiene. And to ensure that all people follow the rules of hygiene. Otherwise, the infection will not decrease.

The people of many countries in the Indian subcontinent are indifferent to the law. The people of India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan do not follow the rules of lockdown properly. Coronavirus infection cannot be reduced in any way if the rules are not followed properly and hygiene is not followed. And it will take a few years to vaccinate all the people in the country.

IPL hype died for me this year. I was excited when Tourny started but the way things went south drastically, a bit disappointed. Now i'm just looking forward to T-20 WC as last year it got cancelled.
Corona continues to wreak havoc across the world through different variants. Israel and Palestine are hell-bent on destroying each other. Felt like I was watching fireworks when I saw the missiles launched at each other.

Honestly, I am not hyped about any sport currently since it feels like World War 3 is underway which is why I am looking forward to sports events next year.

Indeed, no chance of playing any sort of cricket in this emergency, some countries are fighting with complex health system where Israel and Palestine clashes all the rage, which should not be accepted. T-20 WC should be postponed. India deemed too risky after IPL and India should focus on health care for now. I'm looking forward a better world.
What cricket has to do with Israel and Palestine conflict? Both nation are not involved in cricket and UAE is not affected by the conflict. COVID19 is the only reason why the cricket tournament is being reschedule at a different destination, preferably UAE. If India was able to control this pandemic then it would be business as usual for BCCI.
I don't know if Israel or Palestine plays cricket. Diplomatically, the UAE may be involved in the issue, but the war will not affect anything within the UAE. As soon as the infection of Covid 19 subsides, the cricket of all formats will start again. The Government of India should take appropriate steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. More than 4,000 people are still dying every day in their country.
That is tries alot of people are dying in India. There is a lot chaos and uncertainty, every state is now in lockdown and no one knows how long it will continue. In such situations cricket can be relaxing for some of us and cannot be for others. I was enjoying the IPL this year but I think because of BCCI's incompetence the tournament was stopped.

I agree with the fact that the Israel-Palestine conflict has nothing to do with Cricket or any other sport for that matter and tournaments like the T-20 World Cup shouldn't be postponed due to these reasons.

However, it's tough to enjoy any sport due to current circumstances. Honestly, IPL 2021 was not as exciting as previous seasons for me primarily due to Corona.

On the other hand, TV shows, movies, gaming etc have entertained and helped me relax in a far better manner during these tough times.

What does the Israel-Palestine conflict has to do with the T20 World Cup? Israel will almost never qualify for the world cup, and Palestine doesn't even have a cricket team. It is ridiculous to say that the tournament should be postponed because of the crisis in Israel. If the focus is on COVID 19, then it can still be understood. But only India and the other south Asian nations are affected by the pandemic. UAE has achieved more than 50% vaccination, and has remained largely free from the virus for the past many months.

OK.. from the demand made by the BCCI, it looks as if they are planning to conduct the remainder of the IPL in September this year and finish it before the start of the T20 World Cup. Also, there is a BCCI General Meeting in one week from now, and the date will be confirmed by then. As per the original schedule, the 4th test was to be played on 10th to 14th September 2021. The board wants the ECB to reschedule the matches and prepone them by at least a week.

My country is lenient with the situation in recent weeks and hopefully everything will be fine, i know there are restrictions in many places but everything started to open up now which is worrying and the curfew in places are getting relaxed according to the color coded system they implemented they are relaxing things and hopefully we will not see another wave.
It is sad to see that people are fighting against themselves when everyone around is fighting against a virus.

I would like to see some sort of sporting events so that i could forget all these situations and relax myself.

Its seems that BCCI requested ECB to reconsider dates of upcoming bilateral series (Eng vs Ind) so that they can manage 2nd half of the IPL.

Hopefully we will be able to see the PSL resuming before the World Cup.

The latest news is that PSL will resume next month in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/pakistan-super-league-2021-psl-gets-green-light-from-abu-dhabi-authorities-for-june-resumption-1263611

Quote
The remainder of PSL 2021 has finally been given the go-ahead to be played out in Abu Dhabi in June, a significant overnight turnaround after prospects for the future of the sixth season had begun to look gloomy. On Wednesday the PCB had deferred a decision on the fate of the season by 24 hours after they couldn't secure some critical exemptions from the Abu Dhabi government.

UAE has made 10-days of strict quarantine mandatory for everyone. If the players or officials once again ignore the quarantine requirements, then I am afraid that they will be in great trouble. The Emirates authorities have zero tolerance for law breakers.

I would like to see the T20 World Cup as it is much easier to make a prediction than the IPL as some of the matches are usually really competitive and i was getting used to the matches and getting my predictions correct and then they stopped the tournament all of a sudden  Grin.

Now I suspect that the other teams might also take a similar position. I am afraid that the days of BCCI elbowing other boards to dance as per their whims and fancies are over. Apart from the poorer boards, I don't think that anyone will agree to the tournament to be conducted in India (especially after the fiasco we had during the IPL).
Every players and their respective boards should take a position that they cannot travel to India as i was watching the horrific situation everyone is going through and you cannot conduct a tournament when things are really bad. They should move the tournament outside India.

In related news, Asia cup has been postponed once again (probably to 2022), and the PSL resumption is also delayed.
Hopefully we will be able to see the PSL resuming before the World Cup.

Regarding the T20 World Cup, here is the latest news:

Having just returned to Australia after recovering from Covid-19 that he picked up during his IPL coaching stint in India, former Australia batter Mike Hussey believes the UAE should be looked at as an alternative for the T20 World Cup later in the year.
