This is a big match for the Indian cricket team before the IPL season. This match has served as a trailer for upcoming IPL scheduled within few weeks time. Every player made their contribution, which is the best part of the match. This win has also made the series more competitive, because if India had lost this game surely England will have low pressure to win a match out of the remaining three to win the series. Now every match the pressure of winning will be high.

KL Rahul might sit back and for the world cup Rohit Sharma will be the opener
I disagree. KL Rahul didn't perform in recent matches, but that doesn't mean that he should be benched. He is one of the most consistent players in the IPL from the last couple of years which is why he deserves to be a part of the World Cup squad.

Good to see that Virat Kohli has also regained his form, after so many failures in T20Is.
This is good news for India though he needs to retain his consistent form across all formats since a single good score is not enough to assess his form properly.

As the saying goes, attack is the best form of defense (at least as far as T20 is concerned). In the first match, Indian batsmen were in the defensive mode and they were bowled out for just 124 runs. In the second match, they started badly, but the power hitting from Ishan Kishan made sure that the series is levelled. Good to see that Virat Kohli has also regained his form, after so many failures in T20Is.

Never expected this meltdown from the England bowlers, after the spectacular wicket maiden from Sam Curran. Adil Rashid got Ishan Kishan out, but the same bowler has been hit for a six just now by Rishabh Pant. Just another 54 runs needed from 8 overs, at around 7 runs per over. From now, it should be a cakewalk for India. So essentially, the series is now levelled 1-1. Misfields from the part of England players doesn't help much either.
The first two matches the team chasing won the game even though the second match is still going on that is how the series is unfolding and England put on a decent score on the board than India was able to score in the first match and the dew factor might be the reason the bowlers are not able to maintain the grip and the fielders are struggling.

Correct, it is interesting how the rest of the last 3 matches folds now as India now requires only 5 in 14 balls. Virat is 67 and found is form back. Also, with this win India levels the series by 1-1 which will make it more interesting in last 3 of the games to watch out for. Ishan also supported well and played some big shots for his 56.

RCB used to be one of my favorite teams in the IPL, but their performance during the last edition of the tournament (IPL 2020) was less than satisfactory.
When we talk about Virat Kohli and how he should be moved from his captaincy he is leading the team from the front against England and India is in a strong position to win the match Cheesy. Regarding his demeanour in the ground he is an aggressive player and as long as India is winning no one will question him.

India just need 20 runs to win from 28 balls.

Oh well, guess KL Rahul is next in line and will warm the bench for the next game along with Dhawan.

Edit after watching Ishan inning (33 runs for 17balls). I have a feeling that he going to win T-20 WC opener race. He's young, good on field and most importantly he's Left hand attacking batsman. Dhawan must be hating him right now.
KL Rahul might sit back and for the world cup Rohit Sharma will be the opener and with the performance by Ishan Kishan he could be his partner if he could play a consistent innings and they need a back up opener if someone is struggling during the tournament. Since there is abundant of talent there can be a backup player for every position  Cheesy.

A couple of wickets and i still think England could pull a win in the match even though they failed to score above 180 which i was expecting and i am not familiar with the rest of the batting lineup even though have seen some of them play in the IPL.
Till now England failed to pick a wicket after the first one. For England to win from this situation they need to pick wickets and India has a long batting lineup even though some are new players.

Ishan Kishan smoking the England bowlers in his first match. India is having a run rate of 10 right now, and the required run rate is under 7.50 (as someone said, cricket is a game of statistics)... Unless England breaks the partnership between Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan in the next 2 overs, India is going to run away with the match. 17 runs from that Stokes over! I am damn sure that he's not going to bowl again in this match.

The game is very much balance and could shift to any side depending if England is able to pick couple of quick wickets here or India can build a good partnership and this will make easy for them as will have wickets in hand at latter part of innings just if require some hitting in the end. Nice to see Virat slowly getting his form back else was struggling for a while in recent matches. India - 67/1 in 7 overs.

[...] i was expecting at least 190+ runs. So Indian bowlers did fairly good job restricting them under 170 runs and keep taking wickets. Death bowling was terrific today[..]

[+1]^to that^ . They really did well, with that lineup normally after 12-13 overs you will expect a side to grab up the pace and start scoring runs but bowlers put up a magnificent job today to keep their batsman at bay in the overs where they might start scoring. Right now 131 runs needed out of 90 balls.. hmm not that bad considering we have Kohli and Kishan on crease.

I am actually rooting in for Kohli here. Guy have been out of form for quite sometime and you know critics.. time to shut them.

It is okay to make changes, other players should also be given a chance. Chahal has been bowling good and same for Pandya. Rishab panth is a great asset for the team, good to see Bhuvaneshwar kumar coming back. I think Bhimraj is injured and that is why he is not playing.

Jason Roy was batting very well, unfortunately he lost his wicket because of a Brilliant catch by Kumar. England down with three wickets.
It is fine to make changes but if you are a betting on the match and if the best team is not available it might cause some problems with the outcome of the match, Rohit Sharma is not in the team and i placed a bet on India and then found out they are still experimenting with the team and not a good time to place a bet on the match.

Considering how destructive England batting line up is, i was expecting at least 190+ runs. So Indian bowlers did fairly good job restricting them under 170 runs and keep taking wickets. Death bowling was terrific today and they only gave just 35 runs in last 5 overs. Now time for Ishan kishan and Surya kumar yadav (if he gets to bat) to replicate their IPL form in the intl match and another chance for Kohli.

2nd T-20 Ind vs Eng
India won the toss and they are going to ball first, its a same ground. Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav are making their debut, replacing Sikhar and Axar (Looks like Sikhar is dropped). For England Sam Curran replacing Mark Wood.
England had a pretty decent start and i have a doubt regarding the Indian team, i remember Ashwin known as a T20 specialist in the beginning of his career and why is he not in the team. There are new players in the Indian team and it is confusing sometime to follow all these changes. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back in the team but what happened to Jasprit Bumrah and why is he not in the team.

Everyone wants him to resign from captaincy Grin
But, he will never why would he?
As a captain he gets paid more and also gets more advert. The money he earns will go down if he resign from captaincy. BCCI will not remove him now as he is their favourite. RCB does not intends to change him as he is the captain of Indian team.

The BCCI is never going to remove him. If anyone had doubt regarding that, then it was cleared when Rahane was kicked out of the captaincy as soon as he arrived back from Australia. For the near future, Kohli will remain as the captain of the Indian team, for all the three formats. Even the BCCI bosses doesn't have the courage to ask Kohli to step down. He has grown bigger than the team itself.

What do you all think? Should Kohli give up being captain?
In shorter format, yes but he doesn't want to.  Grin

If i have to speculate then 1% chance if India fails to perform in 2021 T-20 WC but IMO the only real chance is after 2023 50 overs World Cup. Other than that i don't see any other scenario where he's giving up captaincy willingly.
But who can be the captain even if himself wants to step down from the captaincy? There is no competitor at all for that position now. Maybe Rohit Sharma can do the job?

There is always a vice captain in the team who can take over the role of the captain and Rohit Sharma is a good choice. Also it will help the Indian team to develop a new captain who may represent them  in the next few years.

Do you think that Virat Kohli will give up his captaincy, if so he should give up his IPL captaincy from RCB as he failed to win the tournament till now  Cheesy. Rohit Sharma is the next in line if he gives up his captaincy but i do not think his big ego will allow that .

RCB used to be one of my favorite teams in the IPL, but their performance during the last edition of the tournament (IPL 2020) was less than satisfactory. First of all, they failed to enter the playoffs. Apart from that Kohli was involved in a series of ugly incidents. One incident that left me very angry was the intentional beamers bowled by Navdeep Saini towards Marcus Stoinis and Rahul Tewatia (Saini refused to apologize). Kohli was indifferent during both the occasions. And also, in Australia Rahane proved to be a much better captain.
