Finally there is some good news about the PSL and the tournament will resume sometime in June this year. COVID-19-hit Pakistan Super League rescheduled to June 2021, confirms PCB[/url]. Although its never good to strop and resume the tournaments as all the momentum is lost, but there is no choice.
Hopefully they could resume and we will not see the same thing happening again. If they would have taken things a bit seriously and punish the players for breaching the protocol these situations should have been avoided Grin.

That was a poor performance by India which I was not expecting. Kohli's poor form continues scoring a duck. I think he needs to give up being the captain so that he can concentrate on his batting. We have seen in the past with other players that it can help as it takes the pressure off and he can then just worry about getting back into form.
Do you think that Virat Kohli will give up his captaincy, if so he should give up his IPL captaincy from RCB as he failed to win the tournament till now  Cheesy. Rohit Sharma is the next in line if he gives up his captaincy but i do not think his big ego will allow that .

Read somewhere that one of the franchise owner was breaking the all protocols by partying etc. Wahab Riaz and the other guy Sammy were with him and when PCB tried to take action against them, they went into protesting mode. Don't know how accurate this gossip is but this is fine example of chutiyagiri in subcontinent.

From what I heard, it was the owner of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise (Javed Afridi, who is the CEO of Haier Pakistan Pvt Ltd) who breached the bio-secure bubble for the first time. He was not a part of the bio-secure bubble, and he went on to meet Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy without informing the PCB (not sure whether this was for partying or some other purpose). When PCB came to know about it, they asked Riaz and Sammy to go into a 3-day quarantine, which the duo refused.

Also Owner of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise seems to be fan of ladies  Angry

What do you all think? Should Kohli give up being captain?
In shorter format, yes but he doesn't want to.  Grin

If i have to speculate then 1% chance if India fails to perform in 2021 T-20 WC but IMO the only real chance is after 2023 50 overs World Cup. Other than that i don't see any other scenario where he's giving up captaincy willingly.
But who can be the captain even if himself wants to step down from the captaincy? There is no competitor at all for that position now. Maybe Rohit Sharma can do the job?

This is not gossip but sad reality for which the price had already been paid in the form of tournament postponed. You can read more details about this incident on the below links.

After a great win in the first Test, England lost badly in all the other Tests. Players who had the worst performances of their entire careers. England won the first T20 match very well. None of the Indian batsmen performed well. England reached the target in just 15 overs, losing only 2 wickets. My fear is, we don’t want to see a repeat of the Test series again. After winning the first match, they lost the rest of the matches badly.

England performed magnificently and specially when their chips were down after losing the test series badly. They came back strongly and just played like champions who were much better on the day than team India. If Shreyas would not have contributed to the tune of half the team score then they would have been done under 100 only. Now this makes the series more interesting with the one-sided win for England.

This is the time for selectors again to find the right persons, because they can't keep blaming the corona for players are not performing because its almost they are free to practice and lot of tournaments are also happening so those players need to find their rhythm back. Expected KL Rahul to play better because he was doing extraordinary in the t20 format last year but now wasted his 1 chance.

That is certainly good news for Pakistan cricket If they are again able to resume PSL that will be great. This issue has already dented the reputation of PSL. If now they are able to end this tournament without any glitch then they might be able to again gain the confidence of the international players and the teams.

There is no question about losing the confidence of playing in Pakistan by this event. This is a global disease and its very unfortunate that few of the players got effected by it during the tournament. There is no event of terrorism or any such thing which could have dented the confidence in playing in Pakistan.

COVID 19 is now bigger than terrorism and for the world to come back will take a couple of years now. In the meantime, you cannot deny that such immaturity by the PCB and its medical staff would be not forgotten easily. People are yet to be punished and no decision has been made yet on the players who broke the bio bubble. The world has changed a lot in this pandemic situation and protecting foreign players from COVID19 should have been the primary priority of PCB but unfortunately, they failed.

Well Ladies this match is almost finished.

England is showing why they are No 1 T-20 team in the world and its not like they are beating low ranking team. Wondering if i am able to find any rotation policy drama in English media anymore or let's wait for T-20 WC or The Ashes? Having said that its 5 match series and Indian team always starts late.

The match was decided in the first 5 overs, when India lost 3 wickets for just 20 runs. At that point Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer came to the crease, but they couldn't lift the run rate. Only Shreyas Iyer could score runs at a good pace (thanks to some big hits towards the end of the innings). Even Hardik Pandya had a strike rate of less than 100 in this match. The England bowlers kept it really tight, without giving away too many easy runs. They bowled just two wides, and zero no-balls.
World cup is coming soon so this 5 match series and IPL is kinda audition for all Young-Old guns, so i'm not worried about result of T-20 series. They should keep up with the experiment and focus on SKY -Ishan Kishan or other young guys or team's attacking approach which Virat & co mentioned before the series. Let's see how long Sikhar Dhawan stays in the team, he was even dropped from his State team after performing bad in Vijay hazare trophy. I believe his retirement time is coming, may be after T-20 WC.

Sare bhuddhe pagal ho gaye hai Grin Grin. Not watching but keeping tab on score.
Yes but i was glad to see Virender Sehwag scoring freely in the first match and the way Kevin Pietersen bats, i recently saw a Sky Sports batting masterclass and he was hitting the ball cleanly and so does Andrew Flintoff and now there is no pressure to perform and i do think they can perform well in franchise cricket even at this age.

During the 90s, world cricket was much more competitive. Nowadays, matches are more lop sided with Big 3 + New Zealand dominating over the other teams. However, back then also Bangladesh was a very weak team. Compared to them, Kenya was much better (Steve Tikolo, Maurice Odumbe, Thomas Odoyo.etc). And South Africa was one of the top sides. Even Zimbabwe had a number of great players, such as Andy Flower, Heath Streak, Neil Johnson.etc.
The early 90s ODI was a slow paced match and the openers were meant to defend the ball until Sri Lanka changed how the first 15 overs should be played and it was a revolutionary change and any team scoring 250 above was a good total to defend. Kenya and Zimbabwe were strong in their home ground and i remember matches that they defeated India easily and Sri Lanka was a difficult team to beat.

The difference is that every team had world class bowlers that dominated and tested any batsman and it was a challenge scoring freely and the boundaries were bigger but now the boundaries are shorter and all the rules favor the batsman.

What is happening with captain, he is really struggling to get his batting rhythm for a very long time. Sad
Virat Kohli was in top form for a long time and it is not that rare to see some batsman struggle once in a while and he is collecting some ducks in this series against England. I was expecting India to play better but England is dominating and they have a really strong team and by looking at the score of 106 for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs it is hard to believe we will see any recovery in this match. After a disappointing Test series England is back with the T20 series Grin.
Don't forget that Eng completely dominated India in the first test as well but everything turned around after that so such kind of luck is happening again or will happen?IND bowlers even struggling to break the opening pairs and now the required score is under 6 means the match is about to over in the next few mins for the side of ENG.
