What a dilema the most successful captain and one of the best wicketkeeper in the world has to prove himself once again to be part of the worldcup team. I sometimes ask myself those so called cricket critics and some of the selectors how well did they perform when they were part of the team.

His being part of the team is moral booster for the youngsters.

In the past New Zealand have won more matches against India in its home ground. The New Zealand pitch is good for pace bowling which also serves as an advantage for them. India is like taking revenge, from the beginning the players had the never mind mentality. They just started to score and keep up the run rate as required even when there fell an early wicket. The stable run rate from the beginning helped with the win at the end.

It was a good game. I was following the score till the NZ innings when they gave them the massive target of 204 but after then I watched the match and I guess NZ only got that score because of the short boundaries. If it would have been some normal ground with normal boundary then I don't think they would have set that much of a target.

It was good to see Rahul and Kohli handling in the middle and then Iyer did the schweet finish. Lovely game today...

Sreyas Iyer is the future of Indian T20 squad. I won't be much surprised, if he becomes the captain after the end of Kohli/Rohit era. As of now, I regard him as the best among the younger players. I think the youngsters took it on their shoulders and took responsibility for winning the match against the odds. I had thought Indians might lose this one but the batsman's did very well. We are looking at a team where everyone is fighting for a place in the team. It's good for next matches.

Considering India won with ease now i think that they fell short because New Zealand had a very good start and they messed up in the middle but then they were able to cross the 200 run margin, when New Zealand were able to pick the set wickets of KL Rahul and Kohli the middle order would collapse but the younger players took the chase and won them the match. Iyer, Rahul and Virat were the players of this game who managed to win it else Dube was taking risks and it failed him and made him lose his wicket at a crucial stage. He was thinking about his individual score. I'm glad Shreyas maintained his calm and played well till the end and Pandey helped him to get it. Winning against a strong team in their own land is always special.

Iyer deserved the MoM title.

Agreed. Iyer continues to impress along with Rahul who survived a run out luckily. Honestly, New Zealand bowlers bowled horribly and their fielding was downright pathetic. Kohli could have gotten out way earlier, but Sodhi dropped him.
