Yes, I am very surprised to see this match result, how New Zealand came back twice in one match. It is unbelievable how they lost the match by eight runs after the Sri Lankan opener's showed some brilliant partnership of 120 runs. Despite the brilliant batting performance of the openers, the Sri Lankan middle order players could not reach the total of 173. This is a very disappointing performance for the Sri Lankan players. New Zealand gave a good target of 172 but I think this made some of the mistakes to score this. Firstly they did not make a good start that caused the batsmen to follow a bit of under pressure. However, they scored well and some of the batsmen in middle order played good game.
I would like to mention Daryl Mitchell who made 62 and also Michael Bracewell made 59 runs.

At the end of the innings, they scored 172 which was quite enough runs but they needed to get wickets if they want to defend this score. However i feel that not only they were unable to get wickets but also they underestimated the Sri Lankan batting line and took them a bit lightly.

You mentioned that in this match New Zealand team's bowlers underestimated Sri Lanka team's batsmen. I think your idea was completely wrong. Because if New Zealand team's bowlers had underestimated Sri Lanka team's batsmen then New Zealand team could not have won this match.
