The Man of the Match is Kusal Perera for his amazing batting performance scored a well deserved century by just 46 balls and assisted Sri Lanka to scored 200 plus runs. from New Zealand Rachin Ravindra played a fantastic inning of 69 runs from 39 balls but not score more winning runs. Sri Lanka bowler Charith Asalanka picked three wickets but giving to many runs.
I would not term it as a comeback. It was more like a consolation win for the Lankans. But to their credit, the younger players (especially Kusal and Charith) did well this time. Both these teams face similar issues in general. Sri Lanka has a population of only around 20 million, while for New Zealand it is even lower at 5 million. But the advantage for New Zealand is that they have a well organized region-based domestic structure, while for Sri Lanka the domestic structure mostly involves Colombo based clubs.
