Scoring 37 runs in 5 overs isn’t a good run rate and they should have to focus now not only increasing the runrate but also make sure they do not lose wickets in the process.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka bowlers have started the innings well. Nuwan Thushara took a wicket and both opening bowlers were economical too in their first spells. Still 15 overs remaining in the innings and NZ would be hoping to restrict the Sri Lanka under 130. That would be ideal if they can achieve this.

Yes you are right it is very sad to see Sri Lankan team depend too much on just two players Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. Even though they played very well other players in team did not do their part and that is why they lost game. It was clear that team does not have enough experience. Losing four players in those two overs meant they would lose and even though they were in good position to win they didn't get it. It is hard to accept but team needs to learn from what happened and work on making stronger team with more good players.

Sri Lankan team performance was great example of how unpredictable cricket can be. It.is surprising how they started game strongly but then played very poorly with middle part of their team not scoring any runs. This inconsistency not only caused them to lose game but also made people wonder if their team is reliable. On the other hand New Zealand comeback was impressive and Jacob Duffy bowling was very important in their win. This is a clear example of "anything is possible in cricket." I have heard it many times but didn't witness any case that could support this quote. However, today the Sri Lankan team proved it. The way they started the match and the way they ended the match was really disappointing for cricket enthusiasts. A team means that every person included in it will do their best and fight to the last ball, but here the openers scored massively, and when the middle order came in, they were out for zero runs. How could they not score a single run? They not only lost the match but also someone’s trust. A player who scored so massively and made the match much easier for them and they did not perform the way they needed. Anyway, the New Zealand team performed well, especially their bowler Jacob Duffy, who could win the lost match for his team. Congratulations to the winning team.

NZ has won the match by a small margin, where the match was completely in favour of Sri Lanka until 14th over. Jacob Duffy had changed the momentum of the match by taking 3 wickets in the 14th over. I am sure the Sri Lanka camp will be disappointed today as this was their best chance to start the series with a lead but they failed.
