Can you log into TalkImg? If so, you are not affected. Although at this time, it is not possible to upload new images.

Now, I believe that with the blocking levels I created in Cloudflare, some users may be more affected than others.

Just tried to login, but I got a straight 404 error message instead of even reaching the login page! LOL Tongue

BTW, keep up the good work!
I get the same error page when I go to log in.
It seems that only the index page is functional, this is an error when trying to upload an image.

Maybe temporary solution would be for us to use TalkImg registered accounts to avoid this issue from cloudflare.
I don't think that works: if Cloudflare blocks you, it's before you could reach your account.

- Bitcointalk.org could add support for uploading images directly.

this was something i always wanted, a truly fantastic thing if you will
at fien it involves little work on a technical level but certainly a notable impact in terms of usability
in theory you can also make a userscript with greasemonkey and it's quite simple..

According to iplocation.net: the first and last IP are from an ISP in Canada, the other in Switzerland. Looks like a regular botnet.

I'm from Canada - you are Switzerland.   Are we being framed?   Shocked

I think I have already managed to mitigate the attack, and now everything is online.

Problem now? Well, I think I've created so many layers of protection that I'm blocking myself.  Embarrassed
The functioning of the site was somewhat affected, and now I am trying to restore this functioning.

At least all the images are working on the forum. It's just not possible to make new uploads.

One step at a time and everything will be resolved.

Thank you Theymos this is very reasonably. Having a simple gallery will work better.

Sir  joker_josue, I was planning to upload some image in this forum , and I wanted to make use of talkimg.com like usual, so after the human verification

the page endup showing this. https://ibb.co/9YmJm3B

So just want to ask what may have been the issue, because I prefer using talkimg.com compare to the others because is more user friendly than the others.

I've try refreshing the page several times.

Try to read through. The issue is what is being discussed here. According to Theymos we have to wait for a few days then he can proceed to the next step.

That means you don't have a local copy of the images you've uploaded. I'm surprised, I never rely on any cloud hosting, and always keep a copy myself. Of everything. You're talking about business pictures, why risk ever losing them?
We learn from experience. I never wanted to fill my hard drive with those graphics however my designers have the copies. The office hour for them is from 9 to 5 however for me there are no specific time LOL. Besides, it's easier for me to download the exact image from talkimg that needs to upload on my own server however this is a manual job which takes a lot of time.

Same thing happened to me yesterday, and strange that uploading to imgbb was also not working.
I am taking a small break on uploading images in forum.
You might wanna try Postimages.

I've been using it for years for uploading images here (and in other forums) until Talkimg appeared. I tried it again today and it worked fine so I guess that's the one I gonna keep using until joker_josue sorts out the issues.

Yes, I also noticed the same issue yesterday about both image hosting sites (i.e Talkimg.com & imgbb.com), and I was thinking of coming to make a complaint here on this thread about "talkImg.com", but only to see that an update has already been given by Joker, and the issue is already in discussion. However, I was able to give imgbb.com a try later this evening, and I noticed it's now working perfectly okay, unlike yesterday. So you can give it a try. However, this is what I saw while trying to upload image on talkimg.com 👇👇

So you can try using, imgbb.com . It's perfectly working fine now

I get the same. It's the same message Cloudflare gives on Bitcointalk when you're trying to post something Cloudflare doesn't like. Just a few weeks ago that was /etc/hosts.
Maybe temporary solution would be for us to use TalkImg registered accounts to avoid this issue from cloudflare.
In that case joker_josue would probably have to manually whitelist members who are affected.

Take down the image hosting and image proxy, take down ChartBuddy. No ChartBuddy, no hourly price updates. This is food for conspiracies Tongue
I was thinking that one of the reasons for this attacks could also be the new Bitcoin ATH.

If the idea was to end TalkImg, it won't work, because it will only get stronger.  Angry
Keep the spirit strong.

Yeah I am downloading images from talkimg and moving the images that are related to my business to my own server. Your bot found me performing DDoss :-)

Maybe an IP whitelisting will work?

Everything was back in line for an hour or more then again the proxy is not working.

Here is my hypothesis about the attackers:
The sudden bullish pattern of Bitcoin and even going over $75,000 made these attackers rich. They must be overloaded with cash now and spending it to have fun :-)

I'm starting to think so.
When talkimg goes quiet from attack, the forum image proxy suffers an attack.

TalkImg is now back up and running, the attack has been heavily mitigated in the last few hours. It remains to be seen whether they return to the load or not. I will keep an eye out. It may put up a fight, but they won't last forever on the attack.

if your service is open source I can try to fork it and give one similar to altcoinstalks

The source code is not the point of talkimg. To run the website you money to buy the infrastructure to host all those images, this is main point of a website like that.

Take a look here, this basically the same website as talkimg. There are others if you research more...

How is ChartBuddy doing it?
It links to an IP-address instead of a domain name. Does that mean the attack is on the image proxy's DNS server?

Don't do this! This directly exposes the IP address to every DDoSer in the world, and it will be much harder to switch servers if all the images have the IP address hardcoded.

For now, Cloudflare is acting as a sort of black hole for all the website traffic, but I'm guessing if joker_josue wanted to make this work with IP addresses, it would probably fix the issue, but I do not recommend it for the above reasons.
